  1. Beyond Better & Evil!

Iunno, but I swear I heard it. EDIT: Yeah, I just found it in the conf video. http://e3.gamespot.com/press-conference/ubisoft-e3/ The time counter thing is messed up and is telling me the video's only 29 mintues long, which is wrong, but it's near the end, right after the Project Dust video. "Michel Ancel" is working on this next project, etc. And then BAM Rayman Origins. If you scroll past it, it's right before the Uplay nonsense.
  2. Beyond Better & Evil!

Ancel's name was specifically mentioned during the Ubisoft E3 conf in association with Rayman: Origins.
  3. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

I did. But then it was still awesome after it ended so it's all good.
  4. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

The episodes keep getting better and better, Jesus. The noir stuff was excellent, as was the stuff after. A few more endless-loop puzzles (even I am starting to get tired of it), but the set pieces and dialogue more than make up for them. And... oh, man, the ending. I... I need episode four. Now. D:
  5. Rayman Origins

I dunno, I don't know fancy-schmancy animation terms. But, like, in the very beginning of the trailer, when Rayman first appears and he's crouching, looking down, his hair is hanging over his face. It kind of shakes a little. But it doesn't look like a "real" (in quotes 'cause I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about) animation - it looks like they're just kind of... stretching the hair image around a bit. Shaking it. It looks way better when Rayman's just running around punching shit, though, so maybe I'm just being overly nitpicky. (I do this sometimes.) Regardless, I am still super excited this game exists and has such a great art style. I hope it comes to PC!
  6. Rayman Origins

Yeah, I think Ancel and his team have created some sort of game-making tool, and as a proof of concept used that tool to create this game. Animation looks a little... not that great, I guess. Zoomed out, looks fine, but up close it seems pretty... Flash-y. Art is fantastic, though. Will buy (if it comes to PC, since I no longer have XBLA or PSN available to me).
  7. Back to the Future

It's interesting to me how many people are saying this. And how many people are saying the complete opposite. What in the world is causing this dichotomy?
  8. Deus Ex 3

I am going to begin by saying that I have yet to play Deus Ex (or its much maligned sequel, Invisible War). I really want to, I just haven't gotten around to it, yet. Trying to clear out my backlog a bit. It's at the top of my next-cheap-game-to-buy-list, though. Sounds right up my alley. This sequel looks neat. It sounds neat. There's a lot I like about it. I am definitely looking forward to it. However! I hate regenerating health. At least, the kind that regenerates from a sliver of health all the way up to full health just because you're hiding behind a wall. It has its place, but I don't think the FPS genre is in that place. I hope they do it in a way that doesn't make the game stupid easy. Next! I hate when games switch from first- to third-person for any reason whatsoever. It completely bypasses the entire reason I play first-person perspective games! I enjoy both the immersion factor AND the lack of a god-like perspective on the battle in which I am participating! If I can go into cover in a FP game, I shouldn't be able to see behind a wall in the opposite direction from which my character is looking! Argh! And these third-person stealth kills? WHY!? Ugh. Okay, that's out of my system. Like I said, I think the game sounds neat. I am looking forward to it. Definitely. Not least because I love the setting and aesthetic style! I remain optimistic in regards to the over-the-top action bullshit in the trailer. Developers and/or publishers seem to love showing off that kind of shit, even if it isn't always indicative of the actual core gameplay.
  9. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

I adored Season One at the time, but I have to admit, with Telltale getting better with literally almost every new season they do (Sam and Max or otherwise (controls aside D:)), I wonder if I could go back and play it without cringing a bit. I remember thinking at the time that Season Two was leaps and bounds better than Season One. And now Season THREE is doing the same thing for me all over again! So... yeah.
  10. Yasunori Mitsuda. Yes. Though when he did Chrono Trigger it kind of feels like he was trying to be like Nobuo Uematsu (and also I think Uematsu had a part in the soundtrack, from what Wikipedia tells me!). With Chrono Cross he found himself, as it were. I vastly, vastly prefer Cross. Trigger is still good, though.
  11. Beyond Better & Evil!

Of course, it's entirely possible he's not being held back or forced to do things he doesn't want. I don't trust Ubisoft for shit these days, though. They make good games, but I really despise some of the decisions they make. D:
  12. Beyond Better & Evil!

I'm actually kind of disappointed he didn't quit! I mean, yes, I want to see Beyond Good & Evil 2 more than I want to see most other sequels out there (I looove BG&E), but, even more than that, I'd like to see what he could make with more freedom. Especially after what happened with Raving Rabbids. I was so hyped for Rayman 4 and then... that happened. ): Maybe Ubisoft learned better. I dunno. The other problem (more personal) is that I am primarily a PC gamer. I know if BG&E2 (or even a real Rayman 4) is released before Ubisoft stops being dicks, it'll have that awful DRM, and I won't buy it as a result. ):
  13. Also gonna go ahead and be That Guy and point out that my other absolute favorite PS1 game, Chrono Cross, also has a super fantastic oh-god-i-love-it soundtrack.
  14. Oh. Man. One of my favorite soundtracks is Donkey Kong Country. Though the game itself is pretty mediocre, I loooove the soundtrack. (I never played DKC2 or 3. I hear 2 is the best.) UrOsS3EV_lA Another is Legend of Mana. I love everything about this game. It is one of my favorite games ever, and is the best Mana game by far, in my opinion. (I am well aware I am in the minority.) But most of all, the music is so great. Yoko Shimomura is probably my favorite video game composer. AZn0C-uraj0
  15. Pretty graphics

His description said it would be playable at a reasonable FPS. Dunno what kind of hardware that'd take, but there you go. I would kill several mans to have environments like that in all my games. Also, I feel like there has to have been at this point, but I can't think of a single game that had environments as rich as that.
  16. Backlog Busters

Out of curiosity, which levels are you talking about? I loved the whole game, personally. Especially the more puzzle-like ones, where you start out super tiny and have to navigate between the big ones. It was never frustrating to me. Challenging, yeah, but not frustrating. I did just beat Dead Space, as well. Knock one more off my backlog of a couple hundred. :3
  17. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

Heh, I did the same exact thing. "WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS STUFF I HAVE oh there's a thing."
  18. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

A friend informed me that my posts in this thread make me look like the stereotypical 15-year-old fanboy. Looking back now, I can't disagree. And it makes me feel dirty. ): But hey! I just finished the game and it was awesome! In an effort to sound less like a raving fanboy, however... I agree, I'm not a fan. I actually thought the ending was altogether pretty weak, though Sameth and Maximus' made me giggle. Overall, with the crazy structure of the story and the excellent writing and the return of (does this need to be spoiler-tagged? probably not, it's just the name of a returning character, but whatever...), it was pretty fantastic. Can't wait 'til episode three! Biggest surprise for me was how much I liked (another returning character). I wasn't really a huge fan the first time around.
  19. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

Of course! Good work deserves praise and merits pride. I can only hope any games I work on in the future are as well-crafted and well received. O: And now I must play more of this game!
  20. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

Man, I thought the structure of the first episode was great, but this one ups the ante even more. Man. So great. I love the things Telltale is doing here! I am so glad they exist. :3
  21. Backlog Busters

I just busted Red Faction: Guerilla. What an awesome game. Not sure what I'm gonna play next, though. I already also beat The Bard's Tale (the new one) and SiN this month. Don't know what I'm in the mood for next! For shiggles and gits: my backloggery
  22. What is the Mystery of Scoggins?

Oh, yeah, sorry. I meant the interview. There's gameplay footage in there. My bad. :3
  23. What is the Mystery of Scoggins?

Haha. That's the Grickle style. O: Nelson looks the same, but maybe it's not as obvious because he doesn't have the big beard. But the trailer does have a gnome in it!
  24. Lead and Gold

I said nothing about Uncharted 2 or its multiplayer! Those are words I didn't say! ! Having that carrot is probably nice, but to outright stop playing a game just because there's no leveling system or whatever other nonsense developers are putting in their competitive shooters these days... It makes me cry to think about. Look. I am crying. )':
  25. Lead and Gold

This is possibly the saddest thing I've ever read. I got the game a few weeks ago (on PC, of course) and enjoyed my time with it. But I'm waiting for dedicated servers before I pick it back up again. Too much lag for now. I fucking love the setting. :3 And the different classes are good fun. (Though I mostly stuck with the gunslinger 'cause I love me some gaddamn revolvers.)
