  1. Minecraft

Stick some wheat in the furnace and yes.
  2. Minecraft

Left-click with hoe just does the same thing as everything else: break blocks and kill enemies (though with of course a huge cost to durability). You can HARVEST with a sword if you want. I just use my fists. U:
  3. Good Old GOG

Well, fine, but that doesn't make it not a bad thing. GOG.com is/was awesome.
  4. Good Old GOG

I think you're thinking of Steam. GOG.com doesn't have a client. And also there's no proof of Valve ever saying that beside some guy on a forum who has a quote form Gabe saved in a text file and a link to a Steam thread that no longer exists. U:
  5. Good Old GOG

GOG is owned/run/started by CD Projekt, of The Witcher fame. They are a good developer. ):
  6. Minecraft

It's not that rare. Maybe it was in February but now it's everywhere. Just explore a cave and you'll find it within minutes.
  7. Minecraft

To be precise, torches act as sunlight in the dark, and wheat (and trees!) only grow(s!) with sunlight. This means you can make a field underground if you want and use torches to make wheat grow. Alternatively, skylights, etc. But to sum that all up: yes! Torches make wheat grow faster.
  8. Minecraft

Yep. It's pretty low, too, considering the otherwise gigantic scope of the world.
  9. Minecraft

Both the browser and the download version use the same save data (provided you play on the same computer). It just depends on how you want to start up your game.
  10. Minecraft

Nope! Only running lava (as in the non-source lava) will turn into cobblestone.
  11. Minecraft

Better to use buckets and transport it! Why waste a pick!
  12. Minecraft

That was certainly a boost, yeah. Still even before that, he was making a hefty chunk of change each day, and it was slowly increasing. He hit big with this idea, no doubt.
  13. Minecraft

No. 600k since they blocked his account, which amounts to about three weeks' time. Remember, Paypal didn't stop ACCEPTING money. They just wouldn't let him take it out.
  14. The Whispered World - 23 April

Hahahaha. That kind of thing always amuses me. (And saddens me.)
  15. The Whispered World - 23 April

From the videos I've seen, the animation could use a ton more frames, is I'm sure what people are talking about. It completely turned me off of the game for the time being. I just... if you're going to make a 2D game with that kind of detailed art, it doesn't work to have so few frames. With low res pixel art (such as Monkey Island or Day of the Tentacle or Space Quest, etc.), it doesn't stand out nearly as much when there are a few frames missing. Or maybe I've just been conditioned as such. I don't know, but it drove me crazy watching the preview videos. EDIT: Haha, I just read my previous post and I said the exact same thing in this post. I thought this was a new thread for some reason. UM I AM A BROKEN RECORD
  16. Minecraft

Yeah, and it's especially sad because he was about to start a real studio using that money. Hire a bunch of people, including someone to actually manage all of his money. D: I mean, I'm sure it will all work out, especially because he let everyone know. No way can Paypal get away with stealing his money when all eyes are on them. Still, it's bullshit.
  17. Minecraft

An interesting (read: depressing and angering) thing about Minecraft: right after sales started spiking for the game, Paypal decided to hold all of Notch's funds. Since then, they have accumulated to over 600,000 euro. http://notch.tumblr.com/post/1096322756/working-on-a-friday-update-crying-over-paypal Yeeow.
  18. Perhaps he means sound levels and whatnot.
  19. All I've ever had of Chris is his goofy avatar holding a mic. It was a bit of a surprise to see Chris' real face. P.S. You guys are doing this again next year, right? U:
  20. WTF is Telltale's new game?

I finally got around to buying that damn Grickle book I've had my eyes on since it first showed up. And now I am a happy camper! I also snagged the poker poster while at PAX and gave the code to a friend. So awesome.
  21. Well, at least you got to experience Duke's Dick. And in the end, isn't that all that really matters?
  22. Idle Thumbs PAX meetup '10

I think it was Far Cry 2? Derpaderpahhururur.
  23. Idle Thumbs PAX meetup '10

As good a thread as any... I got lucky enough to win a ticket to Sunday PAX at DigiPen orientation (I had previously foolishly assumed I wouldn't have enough time for PAX after moving from Ohio to Redmond so didn't buy the full pass), and thus was able to go to the panel. And good times were had. Then I jumped in on Boost/Scoops' WEINHÄNDLER team after Famous and Games had to leave. I was of course no help at all! But it was certainly fun. I apologize to everyone there for my awkwardness. It is a gift, and a curse.
  24. Bastion

On that I agree wholeheartedly. I've always especially been a fan of the entire series of BoF concept art. It's good stuff!
  25. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

This is very true, but . Just one of those pet peeves of mine, I guess. Will I ever get over it? Who knows! ):
