I dunno, I'm pretty excited. I loved Puzzle Agent. Now they can improve upon the formula. Yay! U:

Dead Island fails to live up to its name and is in fact alive
Twig replied to Thrik's topic in Video Gaming
That's part of it, but... not the important part. Good zombie fiction is all about surviving, and interacting with other survivors. What are the EFFECTS of the zombie apocalypse, as opposed to the CAUSE. -

Dead Rising is all about zombies as the enemy, though. There are lots of great games with zombies in them, but I can't think of any great zombies GAMES. -

Also, they make for a great theme (if done right). A setting, more than an enemy type. See: oh wait, I can't think of any games that have done it right, yet. x: That trailer certainly did, though. -
Seriously, absolutely amazing. Water when up my nose when I watched the second one last night. I absentmindedly clicked the link from somewhere and didn't bother to read the title and was like "what" and then "WHAT". Ahhh, good story.

Fables is: fairy tales are real, and live in secrecy in the real world because they got kicked out of their own. Big Bad Wolf is a detective. It's awesome. Totally the better license of the two. (I love The Walking Dead.)

And lo, there was a trailer. And you can pre-order. First episode, this April. My first thought: fuck yeah dinosaaaaaaaaaurs. My second thought: this, more than any game released by Telltale so far, will suffer from not having higher graphical fidelity. And The Walking Dead will suffer for the same reasons. My third thought: T-rex sounds weird. D: Still, I preordered, based entirely on my faith in Telltale to deliver despite my doubts. I am worried, though. I don't need Crysis levels, by any means, but JP just... needs realistic graphics, and based on this trailer... argh, I just don't know. I don't like being negative about a game I haven't even played yet. D:

No, I don't think so. I'd wager if we counted up all the games in various genres (including subgenres of, say, horror), zombies wouldn't really be THAT high on the list. Maybe higher than in the past, but... eh. -
They do. Every new season/series brings graphical improvements, but the facial animations are still ehhh, and at this point the only thing that really stands out to me as a problem. Nope. I love Fables. :3

This is some crazy shit. WILL IT EVER STOP? Though more and more, with each of these new franchises, I'm hoping for a jump up in graphical quality. I know Telltale's whole MO is fast turn-around, not too demanding, etc., but it still is starting to get to me. Especially because some of these latest franchises would benefit from higher fidelity far more than Sam and Max could, I think. At the VERY LEAST, facial animations need to be improved. That's probably my biggest complaint. ):

They're Polish. I'd be surprised if it wasn't PC first. -
Well, I wasn't planning to buy it day one, anyway. Was gonna wait a few weeks, or a month, until I had some more free time. It also uses GFWL, which I've had problems with in the past. So, I'll wait for a sweet sale, if it happens.

I have some serious doubts as to how well the tone of the GAME will hold up to the tone of that trailer. If they can pull it off, then they've got a real winner, but, I dunno. Those goal posts are high. Then again, they are an Eastern European developer, so even if they fail, I expect them to fail spectacularly. Definitely interested! -
Sixty bucks on Steam. Will not buy. ):

Are they trying to start a trend of "dumb" adventure game heroes?
Twig replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
Actually when you put it like that, he sounds pretty smart, hah. Just, as I said earlier, utterly lacking in talent. Except for language! -

Rincewind was never an idiot. Just an untalented coward who keeps getting forced into situations far bigger than him. "Average", if you will. An unwilling hero. But maybe he's portrayed differently in the game. I've only ever read the books. U: -
I want to play the shit out of rape this game! (?) No, but really, I want to play it. It's awesome. I laugh at dick and fart jokes. I don't give a shit!

It's too bad it's so ugly. I don't know, man. Love the gameplay concepts as described, though! Like, a lot. Maybe enough to overlook the UGG.

I actually really enjoyed Obulis. I got it from the Meridian 4 pack, as well. It's simple, cheap (as in, cost-cheap) fun that isn't too demanding on the mind and is pretty damn polished for what I assume was a low-budget project.

The story is endearing in the same way SyFy Originals are endearing. It's bad, but it's supposed to be bad, so it makes me laugh instead of cry. But I wouldn't put it in the same category as Monkey Island, at all... Every time I have to spell out "SyFy" my hands curl up in rebellion. "NO NO NO" they scream at me. D:

He actually bothered to read the thread and make a relevant post in order to spam? Impressive. I played the first chapter with some friends. Basically, none of them wanted to buy it so I just pestered them until they caved in to my incessant words, and then actually getting started was annoying because the interface is terrible, and I was like "oh god i hope this ends up being good" and then I blew one of my friends up when I tried to heal him and VINDICATION was at hand.

My Steam name is Twig, but I'm waiting for my loan check to come in before I spend the ten buckeroos on this game. Just FYI, these days I ignore friend requests by default because I've gotten so many people I've never even played with, so... If you already TRIED Twig, then I probably ignored.
