I KNOW I HATE IT TOO ):
-
Woohoo I made it to 60 on my HC wizard, and thanks to the super awesome wand Hiro gave me, Belial has never been easier. I literally didn't take more than 10k damage the entire fight. Unless you count diamond skin absorbing damage. I think the gear I have now should carry me all the way to Inferno, although once I hit that, I'll probably be in trouble. I'm still a bit worried about Diablo, though. People all say that Belial is the hardest boss in the game, but I've gotten his pattern down pat. Only the second phase ever worries me, just because I have to deal with fireballs and snakes all at once. Diablo, however... I can never reliably dodge his stupid fucking fireball. Even though it doesn't look like it actually hits me, it still explodes on me and ow. I spent the majority of the nightmare fight just running in circles waiting for health potions to cooldown and the health wells to refill. It was very annoying. Also, as a side note, the wand Hiro gave me has life on kill, and it does indeed make hydra healing super amazing. I only get 702 health per kill, but that's 2106 every time I recast hydra, and right now I have 40k health. Not bad, since there's no cooldown on hydra. I'm still worried that I might grow to depend on it only to have Blizzard patch it out. I guess we'll just have to see.

haha, oh man, wow

I've heard bad things and also, as an unashamed Suda fan (Killer 7 and No More Heroes, specifically), I've not been impressed by what I've seen of the game. Your words have repiqued my interest. Hmm. I NEED A PS3.

I have no problem with change. I just don't like THIS change.

So is And Yet It Moves! (On PC, anyway. Wii has free rotation.)

I really despise using OSX because I hate the interface so much. Much better than whatever Apple products we had when I was in grade school 15 years ago, but I still hate it. That is mostly because I used Windows, though. I don't care about the companies. Only the products. My iPod Touch is fantastic and like fifty years old (I think it is a 3G? not even a 3GS? I don't keep track of this shit)! I also will always avoid buying Apple computers because I need the freedom of building my own. I am a PC gamer. I don't even know why I clicked on this thread! Idle curiosity, I suppose.

Windows 7 is amazing. The thing that I've heard is that Windows 8 (in the non-tablet mode) actually loses functionality when compared to Windows 7. Granted, these are early impressions, so who really knows. What I really know is that, as of yet, I don't like the new interface they're trying to promote. Maybe I'll get used to it. But I don't think it'd be good for a normal desktop set up. Great for tablets, though! Too bad I don't have one.

A friend of mine sold a pair of level 55 legendary bracers for $30. I kind of don't want to play anymore. The RMAH (and the auction house in general) runs counter to the whole point of the game. Its existence bothers me, even though I should probably not care. But I guess if people are making money by jumping on this shit early, more power to them. EDIT: Turns out hardcore doesn't allow RMAH, so now I can take my hardcore snobbery to a whole new level. Suck it, softcorers.
-
Yeah I've heard utterly horrendous things about Windows 8. "Yay."
-
As long as you're not playing hardcore, the maths don't matter. You can do whatever the fuck you want with no consequences, except maybe you'll die more often. But who cares about dying when death itself has no consequences! Also it's not even really maths, except that I'm trying to increase all values, sometimes prioritizing one over the other. I'm not doing any wild calculations here. Just the standard ARPG "get better shit" shit.

As always, yes. Seems like it'll be on Steam. The second tier (i.e., the one you actually get the game) comes with a Steam key.
-
Okay! I'm in class now but I'll do so later.

I literally have less than 10,000 gold. Also by 16k health I actually mean 36k health. Whoops.
-
So if I have a gem slot, I should put int in there instead of vit? I've been prioritizing vit, but if I should go the other way, that's probably fine. Won't lose too much health, I think? Also, what's IAS? Something Attack Speed? I've got 16k health and 3.3k damage right now, and just beat The Butcher. And yeah I'm more worried about lag than anything else. Except maybe Belial (phase two, specifically). And Diablo's fight lasts so long that I'm worried about just screwing up due to tedium. But still, if I die on them, I can accept it as my fault and move on. If I die from lag... I'll probably just up and quit the game forever. I've had about five actual straight up disconnects on this character, as well as countless lag rubberbands, but thankfully none have been in too hairy a situation. Oh, also, fuck whomever at Blizzard decided that checkpoints could be NOT SAFE. I almost died because I resumed the game at a checkpoint on top of a group of elites. Luckily, they were slow, and easy, so I was able to kite them in the small area I spawned at without aggroing more mobs, but...

Some heartless jackass makes a fake Majora's Mask HD trailer because he hates me, specifically
Twig replied to Udvarnoky's topic in Video Gaming
Link's Awakening is the best 2D Zelda, HANDS DOWN. I still love Majora's Mask, though I could never play it today. It's old and old. Worse, it's the bad kind of old that doesn't age well. I can still go back and play Super Mario Bros. because it's simple, got those gloriously tight controls that still work perfectly. But 3D games, especially ones like Zelda, seem to have evolved so much in terms of control that I can no longer tolerate them. It was even kind of hard for me to play Ocarina of Time again. Only reason I managed is 'cause it was handheld. -
Co-op is never harmful! I can enjoy the worst goddamn games if I'm playing with someone, no matter how out of place it is. That said, Dead Space 3 having co-op is fucking weird.
-
They did make it. I still haven't pledged a thing, despite Space Quest being one of my favorite series from my childhood. Most of the art here looks so... weird and inconsistent. It's kind of turned me off. I dunnoooo.
-
Man, I hear conflicting information everywhere I go. Here, you guys are telling me to stack life on kill and get fast attack speed. Elsewhere, I'm told to try to prioritize intelligence (as much as is reasonable, while still getting decent health/resist), and to get high base damage over attack speed (and high base damage usually means slower attack speed). There's more, but I don't care to list out everything. MAKE UP YOUR GODDAMN MINDS, INTERNET. D: I think I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. It's working marginally well?! Also I think I'm both underleveled and underfarmed, so I have to grind out XP and gold (since nothing good ever fucking drops off kills for me, I have to use AH all the time). I hate grinding. It makes me not want to play anymore.

Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube
Twig replied to pabosher's topic in Idle Banter
'Tain't a partic'l'rly orig'nal concept (OW), but in the context of E3 2012, I found it to be aptly amusing. -
Yeah that sounds like a bug, or exploit. I'm not sure I want to a) get the life on kill gear and learn to depend on something that could go away at any point Blizzard deems necessary to do so. Especially since I'm playing hardcore. dibs: Doing it with the hounds wouldn't be nearly as effective, since you can only cast those once every two minutes. Hydras have no cooldowns. edit: i fucking hate emoticons arghhhhhhhhhhah

Yeah that's bad. But it's not like Just Add Water is the only dev to ever complain about XBLA's weird shit. Maybe.
-
But he also refers to XBLA, at least in reference to self-publishing. And why would Games on Demand have art requirements? Isn't that just supposed to be a straight up port, like Psychonauts was? (I think I even bought Psychonauts at the time. And it had a terrible graphics glitch where Raz had no texture after like five minutes of playing!) Anyway, that's some whacked shit. Why the need for a sales requirement? I mean, I can understand if a game sold like two copies then yeah it's probably not worth releasing. But 500k seems like a worthy enough number to justify a rerelease that is basically free money for MS anyway since they're not doing any of the goddamn work THIS IS WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND ABOUT DIGITAL DELIVERY PLATFORM OWNERS. Aside from distribution, what the fuck do they do? The approval process and... what else? Sure, there has to be some sort of quality control. Otherwise you end up with a shitfest like the Apple App Store. BUT COME ON. Well okay that was a little more angry than I intended. Also I don't even really care since I will never own a 360 again, and probably the same goes for whatever next console they release. Maybe though since I'll likely have a job by that time I'll break down. Maybe.

Yeah I thought about it and I think it's because I can't damage them that they couldn't be kited. To clarify, I was using Blizzard. The Chilled effect doesn't kick in unless they actually take damage. I think? Either that, or the fast quality was just making it seem like they weren't slowed. I'm honestly not sure what to do if I run into another group of invulns. If stuns work, then frost nova would certainly be useful. But I have literally no idea what I could sacrifice. Currently using: Diamond Skin (Crystal Shell), Hydra (Venom), Energy Armor (Force Armor), Teleport (Wormhole), Magice Missile (Attunement), and Blizzard (whichever one makes it cost less arcance power). The only one I think I could drop is hydra, because its only purpose is damage. But it's MOST of the damage. I take that out and fights start lasting way longer.
