  1. I've done worse! When you play hundreds of games in less than a year (jesus christ what has this game done to me), it's hard not to make an incredibly stupid mistake every now and then. And I feel that although I could, of course, always improve more, I'm not awful.
  2. Movie/TV recommendations

The floor of the pit of his free will? That's an amazing line! I love it!
  3. Xbox Live: Threat or Menace?

As shit as it is (and I don't mean to downplay how shit it is, by any means!) it's not as bad as if ads suddenly appeared on HBO. They're intrusive during the browsing experience, but it's not like they interrupt you mid-gameplay to play 30 seconds of ads before letting you get back to the action.
  4. Yeah that was a hard couple of games to watch. There were a couple moments where I was like THIS IS IT but in the end Mouz didn't stand a chance. SingSing is one of my favorite players to watch stream, too. ):
  5. Steam Summer Sale 2012

    HOTMAN. Now that's a game I'd buy!
  6. Homophobic?

Hah! While Salka is apparently angry at me, it only bothers me in the sense that I don't like to upset people. It's why I am constantly apologizing for things. I am definitely an asshole, but I try to be a nice asshole! It's why I edited out a fifty paragraph essay in the last post I made. U: The real reason I bowed out is because the argument was already approaching a near retread of an argument I'd already had in the feminism thread. Sententia: If you're interested, last time, the argument only strengthened my own beliefs, rather than bringing me to question them further. You could go read it, if you like!

I found it to be the opposite. It's a fun co-op game where you scout out the most optimal place to hold and guard a group of hostages with one or two people, while the other three or two people go actually complete the objectives. It's different from L4D because it actually encourages you split up to complete objectives, rather than stick together as much as possible. Unfortunately, it does share the same flaw as Killing Floor: playing for hours and hours and hours to unlock everything. PERKS. What a shit idea. Even worse here because you only start out with two weapons (some weak machine gun and a silenced pistol) and don't unlock a third until Rep Level ELEVEN what is that shit. At least it's a shotgun.
  8. Gaming headphones

I really liked these until they finally broke recently after several years of service. http://www.amazon.com/Grado-Prestige-Series-SR-60i-Headphones/dp/B0006DPMU4 If I had money, I'd buy another pair right now. Until then, I'm stuck with really crap quality earbuds, and some old speakers that are going out after even more years of service. D: I don't really think it's necessary to spend more than a hundred bucks on headphones... Audiophiles will scream from the roof that I'm wrong, but, uh... Yeah.
  9. (RoboRally was already mentioned!)
  10. The Secret World

Oh, I'm fully conscious of the reasoning and desire for this kind of "MMO". Don't mean I gotta like it! It runs completely counter to the true potential of an MMO. (In my opinion, of course.) I mean... Obviously, leaving important things like Teaching the Game in the hands of the players is kind of the worst decision you can make as a game designer, allegedly. But, on the other hand, what's more awesome than booting up the game for the first time, getting your ass handed to you by some asshole, only to be saved by some anti-asshole who happens to be riding by, being taken under his wing, and going on to become this vigilante of righteous fury under the wing of your savior? Or, instead, being recruited by a group of bandits looking for fresh meatshields to handle the grunt work, proving yourself on the battlefield, and slowly working your way up in the ranks and getting bigger shares of the loot? I know I'm talking ideals here, but I know that I, personally, would dig that kind of game. Let's step outside of MMOs for an actual, concrete example. Minecraft doesn't have a tutorial. Well, it sort of does, now, with the achievements, but it didn't used to, and people loved that, as far as I know? You learned by talking with other players. Minecraft isn't nearly as complicated as most MMOs, but it's still a significantly different experience from most games out there. I know there are other examples of games without extensive tutorials (if any at all) that succeed almost in part BECAUSE of that lack. I guess one of the biggest problems with an MMO that follows this philosophy is that it also requires huge investment from the players. Role-playing becomes almost a requirement to ensure the best experience for all involved. Hrmmm. WHAT IS THIS LAMENESS??
  11. 1.3 is fixing it anyway, or so I read somewhere. BURN IT TO THE GROUND.
  12. Since I'd feel bad about shitting up a thread in which people seem to be having a legitimate discussion... Every time I see the name "Ouya", I can't get this out of my head. I'm sorry.
  13. Defense grid 2 (kickstarter!)

I did see that, but it still seems weird to me given - and this is just a reiteration of what I already said - how successful their first game apparently was. I'm not saying they shouldn't do this or anything. I'm just surprised.
  14. Ouya: Ooooh Yeah!

Timesplitters?! Has that ever even had a PC release? I mean, I played the shit out of Timesplitters 2, and I'd love to own it on Steam or something, but I'm fairly certain it's always been console-exclusive. That and it's a dead series. What an utterly bizarre thing to see on a wishlist for something like this, even if it is pure fantasy.
  15. Yeah, Starman just turned it off. Hah. More of the tower done. X: n0b and I have discussed it, and we decided to go with each floor of the tower being a sort of giant indoor balcony, rotating from the bottom to the top like an enormous spiral staircase. This also gives us the excuse to have entrances from the floating highways at various levels and orientations. I think it'll work out well. YES. What each individual floor will showcase is still up in the air. Maybe we could just put the floors there and have other people fill in the details. U: Also, I could use some glass if you guys have any to spare. I don't need a whole lot, I think. At least, not yet. Sand will do also! Drop it in Storage Silo 1 if you feel like sharing! (If I'd known a sand generator was running (or even existed) the whole time I was playing just now, I'd have gone and grabbed some already. C'est la vie.)
  16. Yeah, I just logged on and was having ridiculous lag problems, even with no one else on the server. Someone else was complaining about lag earlier, but I was fine, then. I dunnoooo. Also, n0b's got the prototype observation window started on the tower now. JUST above the cloud line! I don't think we're gonna build all the way to the sky ceiling, because that's another 100+ blocks. Probably unnecessary. Gonna top of the tower with either a dome or a point. Haven't decided yet. Maybe a pointy dome, ala Persian style. U:
  17. Steam Summer Sale 2012

I couldn't find it. Also: Jesus I always forget how many ridiculous emoticons these forums have. Also: Trine 2 is pretty good. Sometimes it follows the philosophy of presentation over gameplay (even moreso than the first one), but goddamn is it a pretty game because of it. So I'm willing to forgive. Also: It's super fun in co-op. I wish I could've played Trine 1 like that.
  18. Phaedrus' Overt Hole is becoming... incredibly overt? Everyone come and build stuff in the hole! I really dig ysbreaker's sandwich shoppe (hidden behind the Shitty Wizard's Tower (name not at all final))! Let's stick to that kind of style! Small homes, hipster joints, that kinda stuff. Sooner or later, I'll get around to building at least one floating highway to show what I'm picturing there. U: I also think I'm gonna build stronger-looking supports. I really liked them at first, but now they look miniscule and weak. Hah. They'll probably extend from just below the nether-light block (I forget what they're called) outward to the outside of the moat (thus diminishing any real moat's efficiency, but who cares about that??). Maybe not quite that high, but definitely at least halfway there.
  19. Defense grid 2 (kickstarter!)

I'm kind of curious as to why they'd need a Kickstarter... Didn't the original do pretty well? And they keep pumping out DLC? It seems like it's been pretty successful, soooo I'm surprised they need more funding. Maybe the page actually explains things. I'll read it nowwwwwwww.
  20. Steam Summer Sale 2012

Yeah I saw that. I'm going to assume no one can get that full badge until the last day, since you have to participate in at least one vote each day. U:
  21. A new Kickstarter by Pendulo Studios

Yeah I think it's him. I was mostly joking anyway! Man if Runaway is that bad, I guess I'll forego giving 'em a shot.
  22. The Secret World

Oh, yeah, definitely. When I say it was the most polished, I really mean it was the part I hated most. Although I did have some good times in that one open-PvP area. :3 I didn't have a problem with the quest gap, either, to be honest, but it is a valid complaint. I can certainly understand people being frustrated by it.
  23. Steam Summer Sale 2012

Aw there's no fun metagame this time around. Probably for the best.
  24. A new Kickstarter by Pendulo Studios

Haha wait what that's a real poster to promote Runaway? That's amazing. So, RPS hates Telltale games. This is a known fact. They always seem to be at least slightly more positive about Pendulo's games (I may be misremembering), but here in this thread are people saying their games are shit. I love Telltale games (for the most part). Does this mean I would enjoy Pendulo games? HMMM. I've always been meaning to give 'em a shot, at least.
