Well, I guess if that's how you feel, that explains the lack of satisfactory answers to the questions I asked. "Because I care" is not really a good answer. Nice. I suppose you're wanting me to actually start ignoring you now? You keep personally attacking me, when I've done nothing of the sort to you. It's a good thing I have the ability to approach life with a certain level of levity, or I might cry!

I understand, man. There's no hate here either! It's true that I don't really want to engage in an actual discussion. That's why I post the one-liners. I thought it would be obvious from my first post that I'm not necessarily invested in this topic. I just kind of hoped that would be okay. I guess not. U: BUT FINE, RODI. FOR YOU! I have two questions! They're not necessarily related, but they also are, so whatever. 1) Why should I have to think about it on a different level? 2) What makes you think I haven't already? I love animals, okay! One of my biggest regrets is that I went into the field of computer science, rather than zoology. More specifically, marine biology is probably my number one choice of alternative profession. Either that or working at a zoo...

My only concern with lab-grown meat is the taste! It'll undoubtedly be cheaper, which is a big plus. (Eventually.)

I'm sorry I gave that impression. I can say with 100% certainty I have yet to ignore a single post in this thread or another with strong views. That was SORT OF my intention here, yes. The statement was in jest*, but it's also true. You've yet to present me with any information new to me, and I fucking love eating meat. Sorry if you don't. Sorry if that, for some reason, bothers you. No doubt this comes off as insincere. ): Love meat. *EDIT: Technically it was all in jest, so I've removed the "half" qualifier! Jest and truth are not mutually exclusive! I mean, it really wasn't meant to be a goddamn attack on your person or your opinions or your willingness to share them. Don't take it that way.

For as much as I love meat, I actually don't like steak! Weird, I know. I'm more of a poultry guy, for the most part. If they ever create a lab-grown meat that actually tastes as good as real meat, then that would be interesting. I don't believe it will happen any time soon.

I often wonder this myself. And then I follow up with wondering why DIGITAL COPIES are just as expensive as physical copies. UGH.

That's incredibly presumptuous of you to say. Don't mistake my apathy for lack of desire to learn. It's just that, nothing I learn, short of an animal I eat suddenly being able to communicate with me on a deep and personal level, will stop me from eating them.
-
Well, I don't care, either, and I respect animals for what they are (animals), and I will eat the fuck out of 'em until the day I die. They are just so yummy!
-
Having respect for and being willing to kill and eat an animal are not mutually exclusive things...

Jesus fucking Christ he just keeps going. I used to play trumpet and always wanted to learn circular breathing. I never did. ):

Idle Thumbs 65: Dance of the Treasure Goblin
Twig replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Due to my previous experience with the Phase Beast in Torchlight, I was expecting to be able to jump into the portal. I am kind of with Chris in that the explanation kills some of the joy I get at seeing the thing. It's such a ridiculous little creature that I liked it being there for the sake of being there. At the very least, I would've appreciated a more sassy explanation for the goblin's existence. Something to get a laugh out of me, rather than something that actually fits the lore. More sass would also make me more interested in Greed's domain. If they were to open that up in the future, I worry that it'd be too SERIOUS to be fun, anymore. Still, as a pure game mechanic, I love the absolute chaos the treasure goblin creates. Even in hardcore mode, I would often surrender entirely to the whim of the goblin and chase it into multiple groups of elites, only to end up failing to kill it, and putting myself in increasing levels of danger. Man I am such a video gamer. -
The video game, based on the movie, based on the movie, based on the children's picture book about a fictional board game? (Of which there was also apparently an animated series? ...Three seasons long?) EDIT: Wait, there was a sci-fi version of Jumanji?! http://en.wikipedia..../Zathura_(film) Sometimes I learn things that I'm not sure I really wanted to know.
-
I'm not going to argue either way because I don't really give a fuck. No one will touch my meat until the day I die! Wait... I'm just saying it'd be weird. The very idea of living in a world where meat is banned is just so utterly bizarre! This was the first thing I saw this morning after sitting at my computer. It was a weird way to wake up!
-
I actually have nothing against this, but I don't think it is far-fetched to imagine that if this works, it won't be long before more and more animals get these rights. Decades down the line, even cows! Where will I get my meat? I know that I can survive without meat, but I don't want to! It's also really weird to imagine a world in which meat is outlawed. It's such a huge part of human society! How weird. More relevant: I always used to like dolphins. My favorite animal when I was a kid! I've since learned they are, in fact, wild animals. Crazy, wild animals! EDIT: Wait, if they're going to be classified as persons, does that mean they're subject to the restrictions on bestiality? A ban on wholphins everywhere!

Idle Thumbs 65: Dance of the Treasure Goblin
Twig replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I've always loved the idea of creating a world and then telling a bunch of different stories in that world. Sometimes a game doesn't need a sequel (or a prequel, even), but the world is so goddamn interesting that I still want an excuse to keep exploring it. Not every story told in the same world needs to be related. I wish more game developers would realize that. -
Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

! Tower is pretty much damn near finished, interior decorating aside. The inside is a giant spiraling staircase of indoor balconies, like I explained before (I think I explained it, anyway). There's currently nothing to it beyond that. Each balcony also has an exit! The exits lead to the floating highway system, which is not yet complete, because there's really nothing to build toward. The outside: The inside: Thinkin' about doing a spiral path up the outside, from exit to exit. The path can of course branch at any random point. -
Heh, I did that, too! More games need peelable oranges.
-
I'm glad I'm not the only one who did that, brkl. I love that I could. So good.

I've heard great things about Slender, and love Marble Hornets*. Game's been sitting on my computer for a while now. I just don't know if I'm ready to be scared! *Although it's basically morphed into Scooby Doo over the past year or so.

Oh, I do understand your argument! I didn't mean to imply that! I totally get where you're coming from... We just have different, uh, what's the word! UH UH. UH. SOMETHING. DIFFERENT SOMETHING. UH. Different SOMETHING for judging whether or not something is worth comparing, and that's all we were talking about, which, yeah, is obviously just a silly thing to talk about.. Now I'm upset because I can't remember the word. It's an easy word, I know it is. C'mon, brain. EDIT: METRIC.
-
I know you weren't comparing the games. I meant in terms of movement, I don't think they're comparable. Sure, the end goal is the same, but the means are so radically different that I would never compare them beyond "they let you get around faster". But this is now a silly conversation 'cause we're just going "I would" and "I wouldn't" which is completely pointless!
