Oh, for sure. I was just poking fun at you. I'd be more inclined to use a website like Criticker if it would also apply to books and music and video games, so I could have it all in one place, instead of spread out across multiple websites. As it stands, I'll just use my brainhole to store and forget all kinds of things.

I wouldn't make a good teacher, I guess, 'cause I would never be able to decide between 86 and 87*, at least not without a strict grading strategy. MISSPELLING. INSTANT FAILURE. Is that how you grade movies? That color was a little off, minus two points. Those two characters have different pronunciations for the name of that other character, minus six points. *Well, and a multitude of other reasons.
  3. Movie/TV recommendations

Heh. Maybe. My tastes in movies are too inconsistent.

I can rank on a thumbs-up, thumbs-down scale in three seconds. But 1-100 is absurd. I'd give up after one movie. (It helps/hurts that all I care about is thumbs-up, thumbs-down.) This isn't a knock on you or anything. For the record. But calling it "easy" is... a bit of a stretch.

I have never understood the great love, even after reading this discussion, for FBDO. It's just... a movie. There's nothing special about it. I must've seen it a dozen times, thanks to television, which probably puts it near the top of my most-watched movies list. (I rewatch movies less than I replay games.) I always come away feeling nothing spectacular. And that's not to say it's bad, either. It's just... a movie! It doesn't inspire any kind of thought. It almost inspires a lack of thought. My brain turns off during the movie and back on at the end. Am I misunderstanding that website, or have you seriously personally ranked 691 movies on a scale of 1-100? That is BABONKERS.

...Isn't Uncharted itself Uncharted with guns?
  8. PL4YST4TION 4

Yeah, definitely. Here's hoping 1080p is more widely accepted as the standard for rendering Video Games on consoles.
  9. PL4YST4TION 4

Well, it's even worse than I thought!
  10. PL4YST4TION 4

Oh, yes. The bigger the screen, the more it matters, 'cause with the same resolution (say, 720p), you get fewer pixels per inch. Really exaggerates the flaws inherent to low resolutions. You need more pixels per inch to make up for it! Well, need is harsh. It doesn't bother everyone. Bothers the living fuck outta me.
  11. PL4YST4TION 4

Resolution and graphics absolutely matter to me. Especially resolution. There's nothing I hate more than playing a game scaled up to a resolution it doesn't support. Lack of anti-aliasing is number two on that list. O' course, if we're talking PS1 games, well, they're almost universally hideous, anyway, so whatever. But a PS3 game... Well, I guess they're already scaled, since developers only ever do 720p? I dunno.
  12. PL4YST4TION 4

Yeah I'm not too hot on the stream-play stuff. To be fair, I've never tried it, but it doesn't seem like a thing I could ever fully get behind. Maybe on consoles, though, since those are usually spoon-fed experiences, anyway. Hmm.
  13. PL4YST4TION 4

I mean I'm not really worried about games. They always come in time. One of Sony's biggest strengths as a platform holder is their willingness to throw lots of love at developers - even the small, wacky ones. Microsoft is pretty OKAY at it (but then proceeds to scare them away), and Nintendo sucks (but is apparently getting better at it?).
  14. PL4YST4TION 4

That seems like a very strange reaction to have, since the PS4 is [allegedly] doing a lot of really cool shit that could only PCs could do before, only more accessible, streamlined, and built-in. As well as some stuff that hasn't been done on PC!
  15. Destiny

The biggest problem from where I'm standing is not that I dislike 8-game series commitments (though I definitely do think it's complete and utter GROSS), but rather that I dislike seeing a clearly talented developer stuck doing the same thing for a large period of time. I prefer to see developers expand and try new things. And I know Bungie is a Good Developer. Mrrrh. Of course, that said, a PC version seems unlikely, so it's not like I'd ever play it, even though I'm really interested in the few details we do know so far.
  16. PL4YST4TION 4

I am kind of legitimately excited about it! Which is weird. I don't do the console thing anymore. I have a 3DS, but barely play it. That's the closest I get. But man Sony is doing a ton of really neat things. The software they demoed was not very exciting to me, but that will come with time. I have no doubt. Whether or not I decide I have the time... who knows. It only remains to be seen if they can pull through on the execution. I remain optimistic, as there seemed to be a lot less "look we're awesome guys EMOTIONS AND CELLS" and a lot more concrete examples of what they're going for, but there's definitely still room for failure. Random thought: wonder why they emphasized Ustream, when I'm fairly certain (albeit not 100%) that twitch.tv is the general go-to streaming service for gamers? I may be incorrect. Have I mentioned I'm not sure? Exciting thought: self-publishing for independent developers! Combined with x86 architecture, for hopefully easier porting? NEAT.
  17. BioShock Infinite

Wh...what the fuck. I can't fucking do this. Whatever. I'm out this ish. Toodles.
  18. BioShock Infinite

No, that's not it. Sorry, I have thought about it. A lot.
  19. BioShock Infinite

Yeah okay whatever I don't know why I let myself respond.
  20. BioShock Infinite

There are times when the fight is worth it. When it makes sense. I'm not sure why you think "I have no issue with the way Elizabeth looked" is synonymous with "Soul Calibur IV is A-OK and not at all grody", but okay.
  21. Steam Greenlight

Mods already exist on Steam and have cheesemints. So yes it can be done.
  22. BioShock Infinite

I never really thought it was bad. I see women dressed in worse shit every day I walk to work, if it's warm enough. Although, I guess they aren't wearing corsets, which would definitely be considered uncomfortable, these days. I was always more captivatedslashrepulsed by her weird-ass face, although I did eventually get used to it, and... then they changed it.
  23. BioShock Infinite

I wasn't aware Elizabeth's breasts were something people complained about until I saw everyone ragin' about it in this thread. I need to try harder to keep up with What Makes Gamers Angry, I guess.
  24. Heh. I'm not really that surprised. It was as big as it could've been considering the kind of game it is. Also, given the "scene" in which it was released, there are naturally a lot of capable smalltime game developers ready and willing to have fun with the idea. There were a lot of strong reactions at the time - both positive and negative!
