I talk about why I don't like things all the time, and I welcome that kind of discussion with open arms. I feel like his tone is entirely dismissive and is doing precisely what you're accusing me of doing. "THIS IS SHIT AND I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANOTHER OPINION." It probably wasn't intended to be that way, but what the fuck do I know. Every time I assume the best, lately, it turns out it's actually the worst, so I guess I'm just inherently negative and grumpy about life in general, and it's bleeding over into my posts. Sorry. I don't think that's a problem. It's kinda like baseball cards in that regard. A couple steps removed, sure, but they share a lot in common, I think. I guess if you consider those similarly bullshit, then whatever. I think the real problem is the limited number that you can get of specific sets. Restricting Complete Sets to only half the number of people who actually get all there drops (assuming no dupes) is lame. U: As far as the F2P stuff goes, I'm entirely willing to spend a few bucks here and there in Dota 2, regardless, because I play that game at least ten hours a week. Usually way more. I already spent that money. Getting some extra cards is a decent little bonus, as far as I'm concerned. I won't do it in TF2, though, because I don't play that game, anymore. I also don't care about that set, as a result.

la la la it's not worth continuing a meta argument sorry everyone i quit

Damn right it's a pejorative term. And it'll continue to be! It is frustrating when a thread goes in this direction, because I know it's an important thing to acknowledge, absolutely, but when it happens again and again among the same crowd of people, it's just travelling the beaten path. But I never asked you to shut up, and never implied you should. Sorry you're reading that in my post. You're dead wrong. The core of my complaint is that this topic "COMPLETELY dominates a thread until people get sick of talking about it". As for my responding to the sexism stuff, and not participating in the gameplay discussion... well, that's where the thread was when I found it? Then, it continued to go in that direction. And, yeah, I thought it might turn out to be an interesting discussion, so I didn't fight it. Then it turned into the same damn discussion as every other thread it happens in. But now I'm at the point where I'm defending my opinion far beyond the scope of my emotional or practical concern AND far beyond the scope of my original point just because it's my opinion. And that's a fucking waste of everyone's time, especially yours. So I'm sorry for that. Gauntlet is one of the best video games! But... only in multiplayer. Most of the fun there lies in exploring the levels and finding all the secrets together with dudes! The videos make it look like your average beat'em-up. Hmmm. Odin's Sphere is literally one of my favorite PS2 games. I got so into it. Played it all in only a few days. Then I played GrimGrimoire and was sorta disappointed, but still had an okay time. And, like I said, never played Muramasa. I need a PS3/Vita, though, heh. U:

Most of the content of the sexism discussion would literally fit into any other thread where someone mentions titillation of female characters. It's harping 'cause it's the same discussion that always happens, with slightly different dressing, and because COMPLETELY dominates a thread until people get sick of talking about it. It happens. Sorry. It does. We have threads for this kind of discussion already, too. I'm not sure if you're joking about me trying to "silence opinions". If you are, what the fuck? Also there's definitely more agreement than disagreement. There just tends to be one side that cares way more than the other side. Not even "cares", really. Just "doesn't feel as strongly in this particular instance". Every one of these discussions seems to boil down to that. I guess if you find that interesting.

And the trend of you not liking it makes it evil continues. If people enjoy it, it's fun. You don't like it. Get over it.
-
Sure, absolutely, that stuff is all true. I have to deal with that on a daily basis where I work. ARPDAU! Ugh, it's the worst. That doesn't preclude fun and doesn't mean it's offensive. It's entirely out-of-your-face should you choose to ignore it. Valve absolutely tries to get people to buy into their shit. That doesn't automatically mean that shit is, well, shit.
-
Haha, now it just looks like I threw that in there as a pity-me fallback. I promise that was entirely stream-of-consciousness! Well, I may have edited a few spelling mistakes. Anyway, I heard Dragon's Crown has gameplay! Is it more like Odin's Sphere or Muramasa? Or neither? I played the former and loved the shit out of it, but I never got the latter. U:

Haha, that's why I picked it, for real. I can get kind of whiny and/or angry AS EVIDENCED JUST NOW and I like to think it helps to take the edge off. ):

Yes, of course, why didn't I think of that.

I think my issue is just that everyone keeps fucking harping on about it. Okay, we've all acknowledged that it bothers some people. Let's move on and talk about the game as a game! I'm not gonna go take a tally, but I'd bet over 90% of this thread is about big ol' titties, and none of it about the gameplay, which is... sad? You don't like it. Great. Wonderful. Move on. We're all seemingly intelligent people who have read and consumed your opinion fifty thousand times per game with breasts. Never shutting up about it is great in the right circle, but we all know this kind of thing is a problem. This community in particular seems to acknowledge as a group, as a whole that it's an issue. I don't think there's any single person who regularly posts on these forums who believes that women are properly represented on a regular basis in any facet of video games. So why does it always turn into a pages-long debate? We know. We all know. It sucks, and we all want it to change, yes, even me, who doesn't even think it's a huge issue here, I want it to change, too, I know, it's fucking amazing, isn't it, how much I don't care about this specific instance, and, yet, acknowledge, without reservation, that there is a problem. Commas. That's what you get for this. Commas, commas, commas. Harrumph. and for fuck's sake i am being extremely melodramatic intentionally and i am not targeting any individual it's just a trend that happens don't deny it and do not get all huffy puffy at me someone stole my 3ds right out of my jacket pocket this morning on the train eurghghghhhh i'm mad

I backed the The Goon the The Kickstarter (for the The Goon the The Movie), despite never having heard of [the] The Goon before the [The] Kickstarter.
-
First, what tegan said. Second, people are talking about this game because people are talking about this game. If the thread didn't exist, and people didn't care about the game, it wouldn't get talked about. I agree that it can be really fucking goddamn annoying when every single game with even the slightest hint of titillation results in a multi-page debate attempting to define the word sexism, but that doesn't mean it's not worth addressing.

The article definitely said DDR5 earlier! I'm so confused.
-
That side by side has Xbone at DDR5 (5GB for gaming), PS4 at GDDR5 (8GB total).
-
To be fair, 5GB of dedicated game RAM is still quite a bit compared to either previous AITCH DEE consoles.

"Wahh wahh I don't like something so it's inherently evil wahhhh."
-
Well, for one, the barbarian lady is the least clothed of the six playable characters. And, two, holy shit that video. That's atrocious. It's not really fair to ignore lesser instances just because greater instances exist, though. Japan has a huge problem with women throughout their entire culture. At least they also make the Pretty Bishy Bros as seen in that Batman comic earlier to make up for it? Right? I remember once threatening to play that grope-girls-to-find-witches DS game to disgust a friend of mine. Man, THAT game was pervy.

Call of Duty: Ghosts! Fable II had a dog. I actually really liked that dog. U:

Yeah, it is weird. Only a subset of the people playing these games will ever complete any sets, with TF2 and Dota 2 as an exception, since those are theoretically limitless. Still, it is a beta, so it'll probably change? Also, I guess you can level each badge up to 5? Which means an even smaller subset will ever reach max level on the non-F2P games. In fact, it'd be entirely possible to never see max-level HL2, P2, or Don't Starve badges, if they get spread thin enough. (I'm sure there are some people who already bought up all the cards on the Steam Market, because they're weird.) I like the idea as a fun distraction, but I'm not so sure about the execution.
-
Yeah, people where I grew up were like that, too, from time to time. "Yer different, boy." (Actually they didn't talk like that but I like to pretend they did.) I'd've taken it as a compliment, too, 'cause it'd mean they thought I was different from their ignorant ways. U:

I play Bounty Hunter a lot lately (hard lane solo), and I absolutely expect sentries out the ass. I'm occasionally pleasantly surprised that they never buy any, but for the most part, I hug the tower like a small baby child and pray they push so I can get some sweet, sweet ECKS PEE and maybe enough gold to finish my phase/drums before I start roaming. I literally check their inventories every fifteen seconds, watching for that first sentry purchase/placement, at which point I run, run, run. -

Too bad that QOP set is gross. But then all QOP sets are gross. ): I have an extra Tidehunter card, but that's it. U: -
I always made fun of my brother for it when we were younger! He has it. I don't. Whatever it is.
