I instantly downvote anything with awful art. And I don't mean like, WIP art. I mean awful art.

Um. I didn't call you an asshole. Please go read my post again. But, well, since I guess I already pissed you off somehow, I'll just go a bit further: you are ignorant. You were saying things about Dota that are just plain not true. Lots of people who prefer League tend to do this. And, of course, the same goes the other way, which is why I try to avoid speaking authoritatively on League, and only speak from my own personal experiences. You and others here continue to say things about Dota that aren't true, and it's baffling. If you don't know, then why do you keep talking about it? It's baffling.

Bristleback?! Are you kidding me. Rubick MAYBE. But nah.

I upvote almost all simulation games because even though I won't play them I love the fact that they exist. I'm talking like the weird stuff beyond farming simulator. Like, say, if rickshaw simulator existed, I'd upvote that in a heartbeat. Also those weird things were you can disassemble an entire car or gun or whatever into all their component parts. Basically, if it looks quality, and I want it to exist, I will vote yes, even if I won't actually end up playing it. That said, there really are just a TON of horror games on Greenlight. It's absurd. Calm down guys. Your game probably isn't unique. Think of the horror children.

I don't know what this means but I do know Timbersaw is the most fun of all the characters in all the video games. Undeniable fact.
-
That's not timbersaw, the goblin-in-a-tree-murder-machine who is deathly afraid of trees!

I'm kinda already sold on this... Which is not something I expected to say. I wonder if it'll work for people as tall as me. Basically, what Squid said.

Every once in a while I take a couple weeks off of Dota and yeah that's pretty accurate. Then one night I'm like "hey it's time again" and I'm back in it up to my neck.

Haha. League will feel completely different to you on day one. It's a shame you don't have infinite time, 'cause it's really hard to do a comparison without having played both extensively. I suppose as long as you're aware of that (and you probably are!), it should be good! I'm in a position where I played League for a long time (about a year?), then went cold turkey once Dota 2 came out. I never got into the League competitive scene, despite trying extensively, 'cause I found it incredibly boring to watch. But then I immediately latched onto the Dota 2 competitive scene, 'cause it just seemed so much more exciting and interesting to watch. But who knows what the real reason was. I've since tried to watch more competitive League and still can't make myself finish a full game, but that's not really fair, since I don't play it anymoooooooooooore. Whatever. Where was I? So, yeah... It'd be fun to hear your thoughts, as someone who HASN'T played both extensively, though!

What. Dodges like that happen in every Dota game, too, barring the ones that lack the truly mobile characters. Just like League. Turn speed matters (in a good way), but you're insane if you think Dota lacks sweet, sweet dodges because it has turn speed. Absolutely insane.

People who prefer League keep saying this. Do you watch pro Dota? It's just flat out not true. Obviously you can find examples of it happening from time to time, but the exact same thing could be said about League. Also this: Can and is easily frequently done in Dota, depending on the hero. Just like in League. The main difference here is there's fewer skillshots in Dota, but there are just as many dodge abilities, maybe more, 'cause you can actually actively dodge things that are TARGETED in some cases. That's a thing I don't recall happening too often in League. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong; it's been a while. Ever watched a pro Sand King? Storm Spirit? Anyone who konws how to use Blink/Force Staff? Or, fuck, Puck? PUCK. Puck is easily the most dodge-happy character in either game. It's what DEFINES Puck.

Books that are like Sphere, Jumper, The Last Werewolf, etc.

I enjoy The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher quite a bit. It's about a wizard named HARRY. (Dresden.) He's a private eye of the paranormal persuasion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dresden_Files -
This plus the Occulus Rift (which they are already using) plus that weird suit with body-wide force feedback? Goddamn gaming is weird. The future is yesterday. Welcome to tomorrow.

Don't judge! That's rude.

Colors and simple shapes are more quickly identifiable. I personally have no preference either way, which is why I haven't bothered to change it. I can also press Alt to see the portraits if I feel I need to.

TF2? Engineer is pretty hardcore support if you don't go for mini sentries. Even then, he should still be building dispensers and teleports, although no one ever does because the TF2 community is the worst at playing for the team. Valve used to claim Pyro was support, but that's always been a bit dubious. That said, you can play pure defense as pyro, or demoman, or whatever, which pretty much fulfills your "stopping the other team from winning" dream. I'm not... sure you're playing the same games I'm playing. U:

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Yeah I just finished Waking Mars yesterday, and never had any trouble. Don't plant the seeds that fire exploding plants unless you know they won't hit other plants. That game is great. It's like Metroid without combat. -
Yeah "harder" typically means "more health, more damage", which is complete and utter bullshit. But I can't stop myself. I like things being difficult in video games. ): And, I mean, I enjoy cheesemints, but the difficulty-based ones, I typically never bother to chase after unless I really, really, really like a game. For example, I have no plans to play Max Payne 3 all over again on an even harder difficulty just to get dat cheese.
-
That implies that the playing isn't fun, but it absolutely is. You're skirting the SEMANTICS FORBIDDEN ZONE by implying that competition isn't part of the game.
-
This thread has given me a wealth of shit to think about. Been planning to get into Unity for some time, now. This will get me going, I SWEAR.
-
You're not a competitive/team player?

I almost always by default play video games on the hardest difficulty. Exceptions are strategy games, because I'm absolute garbage at them. But reflex-based games, I feel like, even if I'm not too great to start with, I can acclimate at a relatively decent pace. And I never learn my lesson. Max Payne 3 on the hardest (available) difficulty is a fucking atrocity BUT ONLY AT CERTAIN POINTS. It's like... they trick you into thinking you can handle your shit, and then throw some straight-up BRICK WALLS in your face. Moments where you've got to fight like fifty dudes within a single checkpoint, without any abundance of pills to restore health, and you have almost no cover to work with. Worst. Then I unlocked two more difficulty levels. While I'm here, unlockable difficulty levels are stupid. ):

I find League much more difficult to interpret. All those gaudy, bright-ass colors just end up blending together in a mess of modern art throw-paint-at-a-wall garbage.
