It was absolutely mockery, and if you listen to it and think it's not, then I guess I can sort of begin to understand why you think mockery doesn't exist all throughout the internet for this kind of attitude. Go to any average gaming forum and you'll have both sides yelling at each other for years.

Hah, wow. I dunno if that's how I actually feel, but I like the interpretation nonetheless. Though in the first dream, I was the one in the wrong in the first place, stealing the coin! Though you could say I might've believed I was in the right because they let me get away taking the coin, initially.

Do you really need any? It's fairly common for people to complain about game length/cost ratio and then for other people to scoff at their ignorance... I can cite an example: on the Geekbox, there's a common exchange between two of the hosts: Ryan Higgins complains about the cost of digital games compared to their short length, and Ryan Scott is immediately dismissive of that attitude. Higgins is the person complaining, Scott is the person mocking. They were even talking about Gone Home when this exchange happened on the latest episode. Past offenses have been Limbo and other similar games. ...Sometimes I wonder why I even still listen to the Geekbox.

Man, I've been remembering my dreams more than usual lately. Weird. Two last night! I was a student, or maybe a prisoner, or something, I don't really know. It was a weird atmosphere, like I was learning, but I had no freedom to do what I wanted. I was coming out of some underground passage (maybe it's where I lived?) and greeted by a group of guards with spears and an almost Roman-like armor getup. This was normal, everyday life for me, and I took pride in my ability to fuck with them and make them hate me. I think I did this several times before the Big Event happened. Today, I stole a coin from one of their pockets. They were used to my shenanigans, so let me get away with the coin, and shooed me off to the bus stop where I'd get my ride to school(?). But there was one guard who approached me from around the corner as I meandered to my destination. He was a huge dude, and really loved to go on power trips like he owned the entire world and we were all his playthings. He stopped me at a corner and demanded the coin I took. I said "no, they gave it to me", or something like that, and he started trying to grab it from me. I kept away from him for a bit, but eventually he got me and grabbed the coin. Then he ran directly into oncoming traffic and SMACK a semi-truck hit him. Instead of flying through the air from the force, he just kind of stood there like "ow" and the truck crumpled up around him. A van drove up, the driver got out, and stuffed the guard into. The driver looked at me and shrugged, like "welp, he's dead soon, not much we can do" but the huge guard starting screaming and frothing at the mouth and got back out of the van and ran up to me like "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?!" before the driver managed to stuff him back in the van. I was a little taken aback, but remembered that I had to catch the bus. At which point I was on the prison/school bus telling my fellow inmates/students about this totally wacky thing that happened to me with a sort of shocked wonder. YEAH. I was Gohan from Dragonball Z. Like the young Gohan, five years old or whatever. Except I was a miniature, gnome-like version. I was living up in the attic of a family, and I could turn into a fox. The family had a daughter who was my size and could turn into a wolf. We were in love and wanted to get married (five years old??), but she knew her father hated me because he chased me away every time I tried to join in on the family hunting expeditions. Foxes aren't wolved! Oh, and her dad was just a normal-sized old human dude. I tried to sneak in with the pack yet again, and he caught me yet again. This time his daughter explained that we loved each other and he should accept that. He gruffly accepted this but said that I would have to prove my worth. I don't remember what this entailed, but I remember multiple things happening before we ended up white water rafting, maybe looking for something (I want to say looking for a sock, but I may be mixing up another dream with this one). At this point, he trusted and respected me, so this was just for fun. Except then he fell into the water. I tried to reach for him, but the daughter stopped me just in time. My finger-tips touched the water and were immediately frostbitten. She said he'd be fine. The end.

I love the idea of drawing a thing for each of my Steam games, so I'm going to do that starting tomorrow. One game per day, probably. Maybe more, who knows. I'm going to share it here for everyone to laugh at (because I am a shit artist - I may have some latent talent that I'm unaware of, but I have no skill to make that talent shine). It will be the worst experience of all of our lives. But over time I'll get better! Yeah! Hah! Maybe posting this here will actually force me to take action instead of Never Doing Anything like I usually do. In all likelihood I will continue to be lazy, but maybe knowing that my laziness will be my shame in this thread henceforth will motivate me to at least try this time!

ME TOO!! Oh man we're best bros now.

All games "work" (okay some games don't work, because they're buggy or were bad to begin with, but that's not what I mean). Doesn't make 'em pleasant or preferable. Old games are old. Some people have a tolerance for that, but I don't, and I have no desire to force myself through an old game when a new game more in line with what I like in terms of controls or interface is going to come out tomorrow or just came out yesterday. Sure, I might be missing out on some gems, but I'm never going to play all the games I want to play, as it is.

I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about.

Was Batman ever cool? Batman stories are about the villains, or even sometimes the cops or civilians. They're not really about Batman, and the ones that are about Batman are the most boring. Says a guy who hates superhero comics with a fiery passion.

People need to stop misusing Twitter. Write a fucking blog post! -
Oh, that. Well... maybe I should, but I probably never will. Old games are hard to get into with their archaic interfaces and whatnot, and new games that I want to play come out every day.

About? I'm confused, now. I believe him!

Oh. Video game references. Got it.

Yeah! I agree with everything else in your post! My response isn't even really contradicting you. Just musing to the nth degree. But, anyway, people are dumb; what're you gonna do? U; U; u; u; U; I don't get that video at all Tycho. I guess it makes things creepier?

There are a million ways to do "purely exploratory" gameplay that still use traditional mechanics to a great deal. For example, if you crafted a huge world that could be conquered through free-running or Crackdown-style superpowers, you could still classify it as "purely exploratory" if the only purpose was to explore the world and discover its secrets. That said, I agree with everything else in your post! My response isn't even really contradicting you. Just musing to the nth degree. But, anyway, people are dumb; what're you gonna do?

Because the colorful language makes it funny? Why does it have to be "insightful" to be funny?

I've been sort of eyeing the game from afar for a while now. Maybe I'll give it a shot, now.

It's usually fine once it starts. And this one was, too, although I fumbled a bit on two of the questions - not because I didn't know the answer... but because my tongue wouldn't cooperate. I just hate the waiting period, because my mind is so preoccupied by the impending DOOM that I can't concentrate on anything else. I'm a nervous person on a regular day. This kind of shit just amplifies it by a million.

http://www.quartertothree.com/fp/2013/08/22/man-up-and-earn-your-steam-achievement-by-playing-to-the-moon/ I wouldn't know because I'm not about to play the game again to get a cheese. I'm just parroting. Though I do think that thing's existed for a while and maybe just never worked I dunno. http://steamcommunity.com/stats/206440/achievements

I hate nothing more than waiting for a phone interview.
