I was actually more concerned about losing Yu's game design prowess than his art. It's hard to tell how much influence he had or didn't have on how Aquaria felt - i.e., fantastic.
-
No one told me this was a game with Alec Holowka behind it. WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THIS? Fucking love Aquaria. Dang. Like a lot. DANG. Now I'm excited. I was interested before. Interest now properly upgraded to excitement. To reign it back a bit: Of course, it's missing the other half of Aquaria (Derek Yu), but that's fine. This looks nice.

Okay I misunderstood you. That, I find more agreeable.

Damniiiiit. I unplugged and replugged my microphone at some point during the day, APPARENTLY, and that messed up OBS' detection of it, resulting in it not knowing where to source the audio input from. For some dumb reason. I had to tell it again, but I only realized that after recording the run. So I have no voice, but my friend does. And this is the first time he recorded his run, too. RUINEd. EVERYTHING. I liked this run, too, because I died in the exact same way as I died yesterday. Only I should've known better, because I DID IT YESTERDAY.

That's really bad advice. I'm no huge fan of academia or anything, but some people need that structure to really push them along before they find their own place.

And then STOLE the malfunctioning Big Dog's legs to build his arm.

There are definitely a lot of scam schools like what you're talking about. (Tighten up the graphics on level three!) It's important to research and learn about these things. Just thought I'd pitch in with one of the good examples.

I had a series of amazingly over-the-top dreams last night. I remember very little from them. 1) I was a private eye type of guy, in a very noir-ish setting. One of the people I was investigating had a daughter who was really unhappy so I... paid for something for her, because I wanted her to be happy? I don't recall exactly. It might have been dance lessons or something like that. There was also singing involved, and a dead-beat dad, whom I was trying to convince to be a better person, and the mother didn't believe my intentions were pure (which I guess is sort of true, because I was hired to watch her). 2) I was in an action movie sort of situation, with a team of soldier-types about to invade my apartment on the top floor of a very tall building, so I had to escape by... driving a car off the roof of said building INTO another building. Very Saint's Row-esque. 3) WARNING: MOST DISTURBING: I was talking to a friend about Big Dog, and we both wondered why no one had made a tap-dancing version of Big Dog (what). As we were watching a video of Big Dog and discussing this further, the Big Dog BROKE APART INTO TWO DIFFERENT ROBOTS and they DID A TAP-DANCING ROUTINE TOGETHER.

The same can be said about programming in general. One does not generally go to school for something like programming if they're already incredibly self-motivated. Also, FWIW, DigiPen is very much a good school. I got my bachelor's at a regular school and my master's at DigiPen, and it was totally worth it. Not a joke at all. Definitely expensive, though.

So excited about getting a boomerang! So excited. (I have a real breathy problem in this recording. I'll try to be more conscious of it in the future.) (I REALLY wish my friend had been recording. But I also kind of like his description of what happened to him as I get to the same spot. Still, I finally forced him to set up Fraps so that future runs WILL be recorded! I'm also gonna have to learn a bit of video editing to get them to play nice with each other, but I think it won't be too hard. We'll see if I think it's even worth it after the first day.)

I'm very Twigisexual. *waggles eyebrows*

I know a lot of people who WANT to play games MORE after seeing LPs, even for very narrative-heavy games. I think they're weird. I don't particularly care about spoilers, except in a few rare cases, but I never go out looking for them.

My external hard drive wasn't working and I was about to get all sad about the stuff I'd lost off of it and then I solved it by... Turning it off and back on again. Which was the very last thing I tried before I was going to give up. I KNOW COMPUTERS.

I really like both of those. ):

It's my fear of being like that that has kept me from streaming. I'll gladly make videos of dumb plays in Dota, because they amuse me and my friends, but I avoid any kind of regular streaming - even though I think I'd enjoy it. I only stream (and then upload to YouTube) the Spelunky runs because we're all doing it and it's a fun group activity. U: Basically: I agree with you. Love the Thumbs streams.

I was really confused because at first I thought he was making fun of MRAs, and then I had to read that paragraph where things shift like five times before I realized he was basically just saying "thank god I'm a man".

Dubious.

Haha I love how you back all the way up, as if to gain as much speed as possible, before hitting the wall, and falling straight down.
-
Hahah that's excellent. Thanks!

This isn't particularly notable, except that it's the longest recorded run I've had so far. There're a couple of close calls, though.
-
Yeah, I realized after. So, five, then!
