I'm stuck on a mission because I made the mistake of assuming that because I easily handled every prior mission, this current mission wouldn't be too difficult. Except that it involves heavy decker action and it auto-saved mid mission (between maps) and as far as I know I can't bail out and retry with a more carefully constructed team? It feels like it's near the end of the game, too, so there's no restarting. Was really enjoying the game up until now. Mostly BECAUSE I wasn't having much trouble. I suck at these kinds of games. ):

It was definitely abused, but, really, I don't think it would've worked a second time. It's like... you pull out a strategy that people aren't used to dealing with and suddenly they fall over and let it happen. But then they figure out how to deal with it. I think the main reason it worked so well is because Na'Vi pulled it off a couple times, and it threw TongFu off their game. If they'd tried the same thing again, I'm hesitant to say it'd work. I think this was a case of overcompensating for a wild strategy that worked once. On the other hand, the change they made also paved the way for blink dagger Pudge without it being incredibly overpowered - i.e., blinking while hooking). So, there's that.

The most interesting part about all that is that I'm fairly certain that Valve on the Dota 2 Dev forums stated at one point that they decided to intentionally allow fountain hooking (as it had also been utilized, though without as much impact, in previous pro games (including, I feel like, a previous International, though I must be wrong about that if it was only this game that triggered the slew of complaints)). I still don't agree with removing it. U: It's such a high risk move.

Taken on its own, it's a pretty okay visual gag*, but in the context of the game as a whole, yeah, it's just about ladies with big tits and making sure everyone knows they have big tits. I mean, it's obviously supposed to be a funny thing. But it's surrounded by the ladies LOSING CLOTHING WHEN THEY FAIL AT COOKING which it just occurred to me is hilarious (sad) on a whole level I didn't before recognize. IF YOU CAN'T COOK, LADIES, YOU BETTER LET ME SEE SOME T&A, OR GET OUT OF MY HOUSE. *(I have no desire to argue about this.)

Idle Thumbs 140: The Customer's Always An Asshole

Early Access (or, rather, open development) is great because it allows words to exist, like this: I have nothing constructive to add. EDIT: Maybe I do. Most problems people have with the early access format are purely perceptional, and will disappear over time as we all learn exactly what that means. I've never been burned by buying into a game early because I know what I'm getting into when I buy a game early. Soon enough, everyone will understand that. Soon enough may be a couple years down the line, but whatever. -

It would be so glorious to have a heavily moderated forum community where any opinions are immediately deleted and the offending party is punished accordingly. Of course doing that would undoubtedly prevent a community from even existing, but... WHAT IF IT DIDN'T??? -
Hah. There's no actual nudity (though it does get close). I spotted a pretty choice comment when I watched it earlier that I won't repeat because it was disgusting. But once again I know this stuff exists but am perpetually amazed anyway?? Fffffff.

i just i know this stuff exists but am perpetually amazed anyway??

Well if it's about taking smack nobody appreciates an awful pun more than me!
-
I thought everyone liked to smack their bitch up. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that that's an actual song.

I still just want the controller more than anything else. DAY ONE PERCH (probably) Steam Box, I'll buy/build for super cheap at some point for streaming, once I get my LIFE together.

I pay for Amazon Prime and they pulled the same shit on me and I wanted to yell at them but fortunately I was speaking on the chat thing instead of over the phone so I did not expose myself as a raging maniac. Go me!

I love this one too. DAMN TEGAN CAN I ABSORB YOUR ARTS OR WHATEVER.
-
I don't know why people would think this was ever possible, but valve still felt the need to come out and say they won't be releasing SteamOS exclusives a while ago. It runs so counter to valve's whole philosophy, it amazes me that people even consider it.

I watched an episode of The X-Files with a kid suffering the stigmata preventing Armageddon and Scully was all about that shit. Kind of awkward and felt really forced and out of place. While I appreciate the idea of Scully actually having a strong faith in Something, finally, it's just... I felt like if they really wanted to go down the religion route they shouldn't have made it actually supernatural. It basically cements Christianity as FACT in the canon of the series. Which I don't like. I wish they'd explained it away with the typical Mulder "Weird shit be happ'n'n', yo" deal, instead of making it actually about Christianity. (It probably doesn't help that I inherently dislike religion, I suppose.) Also SERIOUSLY SCULLY YOU'RE STILL NOT BUYING INTO THE ALIEN STUFF WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR BRAIN

I missed snow, too. Now I'm visiting my parents in Ohio. Dang there's a lot of snow. I kind of don't want to leave tomorrow. (Except I do because I'm SOOOOO BOOOOORED.)

I like all the episodes. U:

It is accurate, but it's not something that's ever really directly addressed - though arguments could be made for a few episodes, I suppose. There are just a lot of hints (some very blatant, some less so).

I'm smarter than most people (he says in the most humble fashion imaginable), but I'm not smarter than most smart people. I've learned with them and worked with them, and I know I'm not as good as most of them. And my job prospects seem to back that up!
