  1. I Had A Random Thought...

    Oh, gift me a break.
  2. Webcomics

I love the phrase, "Cheese it!" It's possibly my favorite phrase of all time.
  3. Rayman Origins

    ??????????????
  4. I Had A Random Thought...

    I was being sarcastic, okay.
  5. I Had A Random Thought...

That was a pretty good satirical post, clyde! Well done!
  6. Rayman Origins

I remember being superstoked about Raving Rabbids before it turned into... what it is. ):
  7. I am also a stats nerd. I loved all of TF2's stats, and always wished they'd expand it. They sort of did, through Strange Weapons, but I don't like that. Same for Dota. ): Thing is, Nintendo clearly doesn't care about making Smash a competitive game. That's not their thing. They threw competitive players a bone with "For Glory", but I bet even that was stretching it for them.
  8. That's not what I mean at all. I'm talking about exposing lots of information to the player... Tell me everything about how I play. How do I stack against specific characters? Is my winrate against a Diddy Kong lower than my winrate against a Link? Maybe I'm the best Pikachu in North America! But I'll never know, because there's nothing for it. Just a vague number that says I'm better than five people. At what? Winning? Okay, how exciting. Also, this ranking system they have is just as bad, maybe even worse. People near the bottom of a traditional ranking board don't necessarily have any idea how many people they're better than. But people at the bottom of the board in this one know for a fact they're only better than ten other people who play online. That's shitty! People at the top have no idea that they're at the top. They just know that they're better than a bunch of people. That's also shitty! There's no reason to hide First Place Status from the person who's in first place. Leaderboards do a good job of fostering competitiveness, especially amongst the top players. But I'm under the impression there won't even be leaderboards in this game. Otherwise, why obfuscate player rankings like they're doing.
  9. Seems like they're taking online more seriously this time. But still one step too short. Why no in-depth ranking system in such a highly competitive franchise? Seems weird. Doesn't bother me much because I'm garbage at Smash but I know some people who'd fucking love it. Then again: Nintendo. All I really care about is that it's competently done. Brawl's online was a horrific mess. Also fuck yeah Greninja, best final-evolution-of-starter since Venusaur. Also Christ there are now four separate pokemon fighters. Five if Jigglypuff shows up, which it BETTER OR ELSE. I always found Charizard and Ivysaur pretty boring in the Pokemon Trainer trifecta, so I'm sad they picked that instead of Squirtle. But not surprised. Charizard's a fucking dragon. EDIT: I guess there were four in both Melee and Brawl, too, so well whatever then!!! Also weird that they're doing Male Wii Fit Trainer, but not Female Villager. Maybe they'll have that in the end. Also now we're up to 29 characters. Also still no Captain Falcon, Ice Climbers, Ganondorf, Jigglypuff, Ness, Wario, or Game & Watch. Those are all the ones I was sure would come back. Who knows. And maybe Meta Knight, but who knows. WHO KNOWS.
  10. Batman: Arkham City

They did make that game, but I didn't much like the looks of it when I messed around with it on my friend's iPad a while ago. I like that my assumption of Oracle was basically exactly correct.
  11. anime

I watched Usagi Drop yesterday. It's adorable. I heard weird things about the continued story, available in manga format. I don't think I'll be reading the manga. ... Also I started watching this - http://www.crunchyroll.com/maoyu - and in the first five minutes the demon king (who is a lady) with extremely large breasts goes JIGGLE JIGGLE BOING JIGGLE BOING JIGGLE. It was sort of used in an attempt to emphasize that the Hero was completely and totally baffled by the Demon King's appearance and attitude. She wants to make him hers, so that they can work together to take over the world and stop this ridiculous war between humans and demons. Anyway, after that, I sort of grew to like it! Their relationship is... awkward to say the least. But the direction the show APPEARS to be going in is one that's appealing to me. Seems like it COULD be a lot about politics, and economics, and the logistics of all that junk. It's also made by the same people who made Log Horizon. So yeah I was immediately repulsed and then gradually drug back in. Episode two had like none of the JIGGLE BOING garbage, but she does continue to have exceedingly large breasts! I hope it will be not terrible. All of that aside, the first two minutes made me kind of want a generic fantasy anime that is of high quality. Which seems like a hard thing to find. Most fantasy stuff seems to either come with some sort of DARK layer to it, or is full of gags, or purports to present a bunch of philosophical stuff by shoving it down your throat.
  12. Batman: Arkham City

I have no idea what Oracle is, but I'm going to go off of what I assume a physically disabled superhero would be... I'd play a managerial Batman game where you are some kind of super-hacker informant and there are two parts of the game: 1) Uplink and 2) Sending members of the bat family out to deal with various criminal activities. Maybe you could control said Batfamily members ala Recettear. They gather more intel, and you, as the super-hacker informant, put those pieces of intel together to see the bigger picture, and then send said Batfamily members out yet again. WELP I JUST MAYBE KINDA SORTA TOTALLY INVENTED MY FAVORITE SUPERHERO VIDEO GAME SOMEONE MAKE IT PLEASE
  13. anime

    Everything.
  14. anime

Attack on Titan is kind of like Evangelion except not completely terrible. I liked it well enough, but I don't understand the massive amounts of love it receives. It's "okay".
  15. I just pretend they're still black bars.
  16. anime

Ping Pong was nabbed by Funimation, and AFAIK Crunchyroll doesn't license something unless they can license it everywhere? I might be wrong.
  17. anime

    i liked bakemonogatari ):

I'm actually only taking issue with RubixsQube's assertion that it's okay to want half the world to die. I don't think that's okay, unless literally half the world is specifically trying to kill you. Which, in the world we live in, is impossible. In other words, my moral quandary is with RubixsQube, not some hypothetical group. You're actually saying a lot of stuff that no one had said up to the point just before your post! At least in this latest conversation. (Also to be honest I don't even know what everything after the first sentence in your post has to do with the conversation even if we were talking about the hypothetical group.)
  19. Feminism

    Nice!
  20. Feminism

I'm not at all wary about using the word "crazy" to describe someone who legitimately thinks half the world's population should cease to exist. Feminist or otherwise. I think it's fucking weird that you would describe them any other way.
  21. Well, aperson showed up at least once. Video Games Are Childish was banned and then showed up again (and probably banned again?). I'm not convinced they'll stay hidden forever, but either way, it's already contributed to an ugly ride.
  22. Feminism

If the kernel of truth is, as RubixsQube suggests, that some people literally want all men to die, then the kernel of truth is only worth finding so that we know that person is a crazy person. I think it's absolutely absurd to say it's okay for someone to believe that [group of people] must die. No, in this case, the kernel of truth is exactly what Merus suggests. I thought that was fairly obvious, hence my knee-jerk "huh-wha?!" reaction.
  23. Feminism

That cross-stitch is clearly a joke.

Maybe it wouldn't weaken the persecutors, but also it might strengthen the persecuted.
