I tried to do some basic workings outings this morning before breakfast and almost died. LITERALLY INCHES FROM DEATH. Crazy how little strength I have for sit-ups and push-ups and squat things.

I think it's hilarious to call that cover joyless. I find it very difficult to believe that someone who doesn't find joy in the song in the first place would put enough effort into it to make a working cover. I quite like both versions, personally. U: That said, banjo guy is pretty much a fucking zombie based on his expressions. Or lack of them. He gets a little better by the end, though. EDIT: Also I'd never watched the video for the original song before. Huh.

I recall the books being third-person subjective, but it's been a while since I read them. So I guess it's not fair for me to disagree because my memory is shiiiiit. It's also entirely possible that that's just how I naturally see things when the character of focus shifts from chapter to chapter.

I came across this super-cool thing but I don't remember where. Anyway: http://gamemechanicexplorer.com/ It's got a bunch of code samples for doing various basic things in 2D games. It uses Javascript, but the nice thing about it is if you can program, you can probably look at the code and see what's going on and translate to whatever language you're using, if you need to. It's super rad for beginners to see concrete examples. It even has said examples running a demo on each page, so you can see just how it should come out.

I was going to ask what their relationship is like after the events in the book, but... I forgot to??? I don't know what happened to that sentence I typed! That does make some sense.

I wonder if the purpose of making it a rape was to emphasize that, no, Jaime is not a good guy after all, he may be sympathetic, but he's still a royal asshole. Not that that justifies it, because that just makes it a plot device, which is where it would be a real problem, but I really can't think of any other reason they'd change it.

Never been able to get into gummies. They just don't do it for me. Well unless Sour Patch Kids or Swedish Fish count. Those are probably more... gelatiny? I don't know candies, man. Get off my back. (Although I can only take a bit of those before I need to get out, unlike most candy I love.)

I got some Starburst Jellybeans. I grab a couple million every time I go downstairs. I already ate all the Robin's Eggs. ):

Yeah that's what I meant by the first line in my post, but I figured why not go a little further into hypothesis-land.

Oh, man, I agree completely. I'm not sure I've ever put it into words before, but that's precisely what frustrates me with a lot of other podcasts I've listened to in the past or even still listen to. The hosts' unwillingness to acknowledge their own ignorance can be almost anger-inducing, before I realize what I'm getting angry at and chill out. The other thing that is sort of related but also completely different is that the Idle Thumbs hosts never shove their opinions down your throat. They almost always make it a point of saying, "But it's fine if other people are into that", which I really appreciate because I disagree enough that it would bother me otherwise. Other podcasts would just expound on the suckiness or greatness of this or that without even pretending that they might just have a differing opinion.

Just the act of importing and having even a surface level acknowledgment of that would satisfy a good number of people. Beyond that, it wouldn't be out of the question to procedurally develop some catastrophe based on the winning civilization's history. As I understand it, right now that catastrophe is pretty vague, but let's say the civ in question won through war and harsh leadership. That one's easy. Once they've conquered everything, civil war breaks out. What if they rely too heavily on industrialization and forget about helping the environment? Another easy one... I mean these are just super basic examples. But the point is you can take the starting point, build off of that, and then build off of that, and then build off of that until you get to Beyond Earth, where X in Civ 5 means Y in Beyond Earth, and A means B and etc.

Yeah three days on, one off is probably ideal. I like the sound of that. I'll see how I feel 8 weeks from now when I can theoretically run the 5K. You know what food tastes like with a thin layer of mayonnaise or ranch on it? Delicious ingredients with another delicious ingredient on top! I vote you take a vow of silence as punishment. ): I also ate spaghetti dry as a kid, to be fair. I loved it, and for some reason I hated the sauce. Now I can't do it without sauce.

I don't have money for a gym or for free weights at home. My ideal workout would be swimming every day because I love swimming more than any other physical activity, but that's just not doable in my current situation. Anyway, I have a question about running. After I finish C25K, I wanted to get to the point where I could run every day. Not a huge workout like it feels like right now, but just a few miles every day, and maybe stretching that out every other day. Does that go against the idea of making sure to take a day off? Should I just not run every day? I'm nowhere near that point, yet, but no better time to ask than now.

Do you just hate everything that's good in this world? I bet you even like ketchup, you monster.

I saw the "after c25k" section while googling c25k originally here: http://www.c25k.com/ but I didn't really look into it too much.

Hi I'm fat! Today I began week two of the Couch to 5K program. Last week I did nothing but that, but this week I want to try to do something on the off days. Like sit-ups and push-ups and such. I don't know nothin' about excercise so I'm taking it all in stride. I'm trying to eat better, too, which I similarly know nothing about. I'm keeping track of caloric intake, and that's about it. I had eggs and toast for breakfast this morning. I wanted bacon but I couldn't find it even though I was informed there was some in the freezer. Dang.

One of these days I need to give Wakfu a shot. I hear lots of good things, but I dunno, I just never got around to it.

I care so little it's like I could care less.

WHAT WHAT Masaaki Yuasa, one of my favorite anime dudes, is animating an episode of Adventure Time. It's considered non-canon in the story of Adventure Time, which is kinda weird because who cares all that much it seems like Adventure Time is the kind of cartoon where literally anything could be canon and not mess with the show but whatever. (And if I'm honest I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping it would be even more Masaaki than it seems. It looks much too reserved, in that it's much closer to typical Adventure Time animation style than I expected. I want some of THIS: I guess I was hoping for too much. Oh well.)

You have my permission to read all of my posts on this forum and elsewhere in in the manner and speech of Gilbert Goddfrey.

Oh god I woke up and realized I had to run and then realized how little I want to do it today. Haaaaaaaaaa. Here we go!

I'm impressed! Most people fucking detest the first Assassin's Creed and only come around on the second. People love the second game! Kudos to you for being different! (I stand on appreciating all the great things AC1 did while acknowledging the immense flaws, and then appreciating how much AC2 improved on the first one's good things while ridding itself of many flaws (though not all).)

I'm holding out for a World War II themed version, personally.

I've had running shoes and run regularly before (well, regularly being about two weeks before falling off), and my knees have actually hurt quite a bit from that. But I dunno if those were extenuating circumstances. My joints haven't hurt at all so far. Just been sore muscles and a some harshly rubbed skin. (Not trying to be contrarian, just sort of making observations!)
