  1. The E3 Retrospectapalooza

Oh yes give me MM3D. And hey, at least Zelda was a legitimate name before the video game came along. A kid named Sephiroth is a kid who hates his life.
  2. Half-Life 3

Even though I know... I fall for it every time. "Maybe this one is a legitimate post!"
  3. Feminism

    Aha, gotcha. Thanks.
  4. Feminism

So I'd never heard of "incels" before this came up. What the hell is an incel? Urban Dictionary tells me it's someone who is involuntarily celibate - i.e., someone who wants to have sex, but hasn't yet. Is there a reason we're actively grouping that category of people with PUAs and MRAs? I'm obviously missing a whole hell of a lot of context here. Just a quick summary will do, I'm not trying to start a huge discussion about incels or whatever.
  5. Idle Workouts

No, I have not. I guess I should.
  6. The threat of Watch Dogs

According to the Polygon article Architecture linked in the FC4 thread... http://www.polygon.com/2014/5/23/5745986/watch-dogs-gameplay-video-walkthrough Also, my own thoughts:
  7. anime

HOLY SHIT Gon I'm actually really glad I'm watching this animated instead of reading the manga. In part because I know the art got bad and in part because this is pretty well done.
  8. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

I actually sort of like the idea of it as a criticism of our invasion of privacy from the government, etc. But it's probably an entirely surface level thing that serves no purpose. I wonder if it even needs to be more than a surface level thing, assuming they address the privacy issues appropriately elsewhere. Hmm. Hmmm. I find myself once again conflicted. Anyway this is a Far Cry 4 is Racist thread so what does homosexuality have to do with anything.
  9. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

    WAIT WHAT INCREDIBLE WHAT
  10. Idle Workouts

I've typically run outside (or on tracks) in the past, in shoes of course, and always experienced at least right knee pain. Such that I can completely rely on it happening and it was the biggest limiting factor in me actually running! That's why, in some earlier posts in this thread, I was asking a lot about barefoot running. I honestly think maybe I'm just not made for running in shoes! I think you're right that I should at least try it once, which I may do next week once I get back into the swing of things, but I'm not too optimistic. Might also have to look into those toed-shoes even though they're totally aesthetically unappealing.
  11. Idle Workouts

Heyyyyy it's been a while since I ran (almost two weeks!), so take what I say with that in mind. I got some running shoes. They fit well, my feet don't slide around and don't feel too constricted. I wore them for this morning's run. Almost immediately after I started running after the warm-up walk, both the arch of my left foot and my right knee started hurting. I finished up five minutes of running (following to the current step of the C25K program, which I decided to go back a couple days on to catch back up and reacquaint myself with running) and took my shoes off to run barefoot (on treadmill) as an experiment. No pain on either of my feet or either of my knees. I finished the run without the shoes on. The only thing that hurt were my muscles that I hadn't used for two weeks, which is the right kind of hurt. So, I can't run with shoes on? That sucks. I want to eventually start running outside, but obviously I don't want to do it barefoot.
  12. The Dresden Files

Well I'm regularly spoiling The Dresden Files and Skin Game in particular for myself as I get closer to catching up with the series, so I guess I'll chime in anyway... It'd be interesting if Jim Butcher used this as a jumping off point for Harry to grow as a person and stop being so self-admittedly chauvinistic. I don't think it'll happen. But it might be nice if it did.
  13. Wow awesome! I love his animations. They're so good!
  14. anime

I can see where that might bother people, but I kind of like it. Naruto did a similar thing - one of the few good things about Naruto, as much as I used to love it ): - where technology existed in the world, but it took a different path because "magic" also existed. I think it's neat when creators bother to actually take that sort of thing into account, even if it's only on the surface level.
  15. Life

I also use my passport as my ID!
  16. Thumb Fortress 2

I'll play MvM, just probably not as much as other people.
  17. I'll give you the toilet. But the rest of that is pretty standard fare as far as merchandise goes. Even the toilet, for Japan, doesn't really feel all that weird. But I'll give it to you anyway.
  18. At least Transformers knows it's stupid. Evangelion thinks it's smart. But yes they are both very stupid and the implication was a stupid thing would naturally gravitate toward another stupid thing.
  19. PART OF THE PROBLEM HAVE YOU NO SHAME
  20. Recently completed video games

Because despite them being terribly unfun, a lot of people I know love them. EDIT: I just realized that on the last page my phone autocorrect a "does" typo to "dota". My life is complete. I just finished the life video game. I won. I DID IT GUYS. GOODBYE FOREVER.
  21. Feminism

In fact I'm so perfect I had to post twice to make sure you knew.
  22. Feminism

I'm perfect and I've never done anything wrong. Unlike other men. And women. And cows.
  23. Thumb Fortress 2

MvM is fun enough but I think they never went far enough with it. I always wanted them to, like, craft TF2 dungeons, where your goal is to navigate a series of obstacles and kill a bunch of enemies before coming up against a boss. Basically I wanted WoW dungeons in TF2. When they added MvM, I was pretty excited about the potential, but it never went beyond a simple horde mode. Which is fine, but whatever. Anyway, TF2! 24. I feel like that kind of thing - IT references in GH - often comes off as more of a token of affection than a joke. Obviously I can't speak for or illustrious hosts, but that's definitely how I see it.
