I'd forgotten all about it, but there's a point in Eyeshield 21 where an American high school team visits Japan to play the Devilbats (the Japanese team the anime follows), and the American coach is just super incredibly racist. Like he refuses to let the single black guy on the team play because he was a worthless monkey or something. And he frequently referred to the Japanese as yellow monkeys. But that seems to be absent from the anime, which means that I must've read the manga last time I experienced Eyeshield 21. Either that or: the subs for CR's version of Eyeshield removed that characteristic of the coach because it's kinda not good? Or: the manga scanlation I read added it in for some reason because they thought it'd be funny? I'm not sure! Weird. Anime.

God that was fucking hilarious. We were all like "there's no way they're going to bring it up twice and not do anything with it", and then they brought it up twice and didn't do anything with it.
