Yeah it's almost always easier to see and focus on the negative sides of things, it's true. In the end, I probably settle uncomfortably on the "it should be allowed to exist" side, while still acknowledging the problematic elements of it. I'm the worst.

Yes. However, I'd argue that you can tell compelling stories about other things that won't result in people's privacy being violated. So maybe we should do that instead. I'm not happy about it, but this is a lesser of two evils kind of situation. You either lose the - this - compelling story, or a bunch of people lose their right to privacy. On the other hand, if this somehow resulted in an innocent man being released from life in prison (assuming he is innocent), I'd probably suddenly be okay with a lot of it - even knowing that was never the goal of the podcast. Of course, we all know how unlikely that is. ...I'm not going to stop listening, of course, because I am part of the problem. Actually, to go back to a thing I half-mentioned in an earlier post... If I'm being honest, I feel sort of uncomfortable even with the idea of being entertained by Adnan's situation. Which, I definitely am. It is entertainment. But this is a real person. This is a real life. This isn't a cartoon about a boy and his dog in a post-apocalyptic magical world, or even a story about a drug-damaged detective hunting down a serial killer in Lousiana. Maybe the best solution would be a "based on a true story" sort of presentation. But then the incredible value of presenting the facts as actual facts in the current incarnation is totally lost.

I feel bad for David Rosen in that situation because he basically had to capitulate in order to get people off his back. I mean, I don't know if that's how he actually felt, but he clearly had strong opinions and I don't think anything other than this would've gotten the GG hate mob off his ass.

Yeah you said that before... There is some overlap in their function, but they can result in very different things. The jockey is more versatile, but much easier to spot and stop. The smoker is less versatile, but can be much more sneaky. The jockey can take advantage of chaos to ruin one survivor's life. The smoker can cause chaos by taking advantage of one survivor's slight misstep. I completely disagree that the joker is redundant. As for spitter, well, I like that it relies on teamwork. I'd also say they all rely on teamwork. Any single SI going up against an experienced team isn't going to get shit done, except maybe a boomer falling from the sky or something, who even then is completely ineffective if other SI don't follow up. You NEED to work together. I'll concede that spitter is definitely more reliant on teamwork than the rest, but I don't think that's a bad thing.

Yeah, I find it similarly troubling. I was thinking about this recently, and I almost think they just... shouldn't do this. There's no way to stop people from going too far. You can't police it. Even changing people's names won't work, as someone will eventually piece it all together once you give out enough details. It's rough.

I also like the spitter but I prefer boomer for wreaking havoc. Plus boomer makes fun gross noises.

As someone who played about half and half (around L4D2's launch) I'll just say that I looooooved the addition of the Jockey. It was my favorite thing to play as. edition/addition/whatever fml

I had no idea who Ashens was so I Googled him and found a that video and it really WAS nauseating and I had to stop watching. I couldn't finish the video. After it plopped out of the can with the bones and all. Ugh. So I guess I agree with you on account of how utterly disgusted I am right now.

I have a PC, a Wii U, a 3DS, and I'm planning to get a PS4. I also don't want any of those games nearly as much as I want any of the games I want on other platforms. There are literally no other games I'm interested in, as far as I know, that won't eventually come to PC. I bought a 360 and regretted it a year later when all but like two games I played on it eventually came to PC. I already have too many games to play. I shouldn't even get a PS4, but I'm going to anyway because it'll have far more exclusives that I'm interested in. (Bloodborne is, of course, already number one by a million miles compared to anything on Xbone.) An Xbone is out of the question.
