There's going to be a lot. It's DLC that comes with a cool little figure, and it's already selling like hotcakes. (teehee)

Man, I sure didn't notice when I replied in the wrong thread!

Bleh, you! Convenience outweighs all.

I don't dislike Fringe by any means, but I am curious as to why you'd qualify it as "Must-see"? I'm only a few episodes into season two, and am enjoying it well enough, but... I dunno?

I don't know who those people are. Well i recognize the name Zandalor, but Duke who? So I'm probably not very far in. Steam says I played 28 hours.

Okay I guess that definition will suffice... -
Okay, that's sort of what I figured would be the case.

My problems with Serial have almost nothing to do with race (although like everyone else, I was frustrated with that particular segment, and I do recognize that it's not a non-existent problem), and almost everything to do with the invasion of people's lives that's taking place. I mean I've already spelled out most of my thoughts in another thread, but it's primarily that even though the creators of Serial are not directly responsible, they still have to accept a good deal of blame in the fact that this series has unleashed the armchair detective internet collective on everyone involved in this case. Even in cases where people's names are being left out of it, or voices changed, the internet is probably STILL trying to find out who they are and whether or not they're trustworthy and and and. This is the thing I find most troubling, personally.

If only it were that simple, but people keep using "twee" even when it's not anything to do with music! -
Oh wow I gave up on that game about an hour after getting to whatever the main city was. And then I started up Beyond Divinity or whatever it's called and quit that after ten minutes. As far as I'm concerned, Original Sin is the only game in that series. (I might be willing to go finish it if you tell me I'm close to the end. Am I?)

What about losing a grand jury against a cop? (I'm asking legitimately, if that's not clear.)
-
Well that'd be cool.

OKAY I DID IT! OKAY I DID THAT! O: Awesome! Thanks prettyunsmart, you're not that unsmart after all! I've been perpetually annoyed at the lack of The Simpsons on Netflix or Amazon Prime (because I don't want to use Hulu with ads because that's butt), and this solves that problem well enough. Hurray! Now I'm obligated to finally watch more than a few episodes of this show! And uh get a TV... I guess?

cokes opened his gift which is making me want to open mine but I WILL NOT RELENT (well I'll probably open it on the 23rd, as I'll be working the 24th and then flying out after that to New Orleans and I'd rather not bring something to open on the 25th, but at that point why don't i just open it now i guess it's not like it really matters)

Ugh, ugh ugh!

I'd heard about the trans character from some coworkers and was pleased that they said it wasn't an offensive thing as in previous games (where any trans character was treated as a joke). Also, this quote made me laugh, because video games. Just employin' that ol' head-morph system.

Yeah food, rent, etc. is definitely incredibly varied from region to region, but it seems like the purely luxury goods never really change, aside from clearance sales, or just general sales, or whatever. In my experience, anyway.
-
Do the prices of Amiibos change from the middle of England to London? They don't change in America. You could move from the poorest region to the richest region and they'd be the same price. I assume it'd be the same there. So even though there's a difference in income, it's not as though the price of luxury goods is necessarily similarly adjusted. I'm not sure I agree with you on this. Not that I'm saying I think the prices should be exactly the same across all regions of the world, but your reasoning doesn't sit well.

I haven't posted in this thread for a while, but I just wanted to say that William Massachusetts' speech in Log Horizon a couple episodes ago was kind of amazing. It was basically, "We are gamers, and fuck the rest of the world, because we're proud of it!" Which, in the current state of the gaming world could come off a bit... awkward, but it really nails how I've felt throughout many points of my life, even if it's a tad more extreme about it. Anyway, this is pretty much how I feel: http://wrongeverytime.com/2014/12/18/12-days-of-anime-8-the-pain-and-triumph-of-william-massachusetts/ Like the speech was super melodramatic because it's an anime about a bunch of nerds whose game became real life but goddamn it was good. I won't apologize! I'm not sorry! It was good! Also I'm not sure I like the direction Log Horizon's gone in. Well, it's not so much that I dislike what it's doing now, as it feels different enough that now I have a hard time saying "you'll like it even if you don't give a shit about MMOs", because it's really digging into that stuff of late. Which I like and enjoy, but... I don't know.

Well a new update is coming out or has come out soon, depending on your perspective/preference? http://starbounder.org/Version_History/Nightly It's going to the "unstable" branch for now, but will be on the "stable" branch come January. I don't know if you can jump from unstable to stable without losing characters, but it seems like a substantial update, and I know that in the normal flow of things they claim to have fixed the game so that character wipes will never happen again. And so... LET'S PLAY?? (I'm totally willing to forego this unstable update for now, since I haven't played for ages and it seems like barely anyone else has played at all, so it's not like we need this udpate to get the best stuff - although SHIP UPGRADES DANG.)

Mmmaybe? But AFAIK Game Stuff has always been more expensive in the UK than in the US? And even more expensive in Australia? I've never done much research, I just know people complain a lot.
-
Oh I revealed who I was in my grotesquely-scrawled Xmas Gift Poem.
-
Amiibos are also 13 USD, which means they're even cheaper here, I think, than in Canada? Get fucked, rest of the world! Wonder how much they are in Japan.

Study programming, 3D graphics, or neither?

Don't forget design! Music, if you're into it! Um... other stuff! I dunno if you want to move COMPLETELY away from your previous profession or not, but history is pretty obviously a super interesting pool of inspiration from which to draw when it comes to video games. Also a surprisingly largely disregarded one. So at least you got that going for you!
