  1. Backlog Busters

That's what I'm wondering. I did it in about 70 hours and I felt like I was sorta slow.
  2. Movie/TV recommendations

http://www.hitfix.com/motion-captured/world-exclusive-what-are-katee-sackhoff-and-james-van-der-beek-doing-in-joseph-kahns-powerrangers I appreciated it as an over-the-top reaction to Hollywood's ridiculous make-everything-dark-and-gritty shtick, but the guy's insistence that we're supposed to take it seriously and that none of it is intended to be goofy (barring the hip hop kido bit) was, uh... Yeah okay. It was super cheesy. Still I was amused.
  3. It does sound odd, but not all that surprising. They're basically doing the first step to this sort of thing with Game of Thrones. This, though: "Telltale will be developing its first original IP as a Super Show" UM HELLO PUZZLE AGENT C'MON (I know what it actually means but the phrasing, the phrasing!!!)
  4. Half-Life 3

Yeah I don't know anyone personally who's putting much stock in steam vr...
  5. anime

I just thought it was super rad-looking and colorful and that's mostly why I liked it. Don't watch the sequel series, though. Just don't.

Yesterday I did the following, because I am a sad, sad individual: 1) Finished the Cell Saga in Dragon Ball Z Kai. My friend and I started this from the beginning of Dragon Ball I don't even remember how long ago, and now we're done with the Cell Saga! The Buu Saga has not fully aired, yet, unfortunately, but we will be doing that at some point. 2) Watched the first Dragon Ball movie, Curse of the Blood Rubies, which is a weirdly accelerated and alternate-universe version of the original Emperor Pilaf arc (that's the very first arc in Dragon Ball), except there's no Pilaf. He's replaced with a giant reptilian glutton who, as far as I could gather, has a stomach ache he thinks he can fix by... eating the Dragon Balls? It was well not good. 3) Finished rewatching the first season of Durarara!!, which I ended up enjoying (again) because the show stopped focusing on weird stalker girlfriend and I remembered why I liked every other character. (I still hate her and the guy she was stalking. They're both dumb.) I fucking love that song that kicks in every time shit's about to go down. Anyway it's good. 4) Started watching and caught up to Durarara!!x2 (japan why these names why) and the animation is even better and also there's a bunch of new interesting characters and such. Thumbs up. Will continue watching! Today I think I'll finish season one of Chihayafuru because it's been sitting there at episode 21 in my Crunchyroll queue for a long time. And I have the day off work because Dallas doesn't know what ice is. (I mean it's already late enough that I would've been home from work anyway, but whatever.)
  7. Half-Life 3

There's that, but I am just really really curious. I want to see how it feels since it's so different from other controllers (allegedly, and conceptually). Even if it's junk and I end up never using it, I'll be okay because my curiosity will be sated.
  8. Half-Life 3

I will buy one mostly because I'm curious.

  10. Idle Food - Cooking!

Hmm that sure does sound convenient. I'll have to see if I can find that.

I've responded to some jokes with my own joke extensions and gotten favorited-tweets in return. I very rarely do it, though, so I'm gonna go with, I'm okay. Hopefully. Most of my interactions with people on Twitter is nothing but a retweet, anyway. It helps that I am habitually nervous and so even if I type something up, the chance of me sending it to someone I don't actually know is about 1%.
  14. Idle Food - Cooking!

Hmm I'll try the chips thing! I bought some specifically to eat with the chili, and it worked pretty well as a thing to eat the chili with. They are salted, but eh I'll try it anyway. I had read about the freezing process thickening the chili (and apparently enhancing the spices?) so I'm looking forward to trying it again. I assume I can thaw by just leaving it in the fridge for a day or so? Also how long will it last in the freezer? Aaaand another probably obvious question: what's the best way to preserve and reheat pasta? I have a feeling you just gotta eat a pasta dish before it goes bad, rather than freezing it like you can a soup. I also have a feeling nuking it in the microwave is probably not the best way to reheat. Although I think this particular dish might taste all right cold, I dunno. Yeah I like it! U: I'm also slowly building up a real spice cabinet which is nice because it means I don't have to stand in the spices aisle for days trying to find dried basil or oregano or whatever since I've never bought them before and sometimes they don't organize alphabetically and some brands don't seem to have this or that spice...
  15. Idle Food - Cooking!

Mmm yeah I figured it'd be something like that. I'll probably waste a lot of food 'cause I don't really know what I'm doing, i.e., I don't know how to just use stuff at random to make a meal. I gotta follow instructions. Also I don't, in general, like most vegetables unless it's all mashed together in a dish like this, so just using some leftover veggies for a simple dish sounds unappealing. Hmmm oh well. Maybe i'll figure some stuff out.
  16. Idle Food - Cooking!

Also if I open a can of vegetables but don't need it all... what's the best way to not waste the rest of it?
  17. Idle Food - Cooking!

I uhh couldn't find olives either, which I wanted for a different thing. I walked up and down the canned veggies aisle like seven times but eventually just gave up. I am not accustomed to actually using the grocery store for much more than frozen prepared dinners...
  18. Idle Food - Cooking!

I don't know how to cook. So I'm trying to learn... Last week I made a ton of chili. http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2015/02/veggie-chili/ The bottom four containers are currently in the freezer. The top container is now empty. It's not bad! Not as spicy as I like, but I can fix that when I reheat it. Also not as thick as I like, but still doable. And then today I made "mediterranean pasta salad" which sounds like a super vague not real name for the thing I made. http://www.health.com/health/recipe/0,,10000001993228,00.html I didn't have any of the red peppers (couldn't find what it was asking for in the grocery store, possibly because I had no idea where to look for "bottled roasted red peppers", and eventually gave up). It's good anyway. ... I need some big-ass mixing bowls (among various other kitchen tools) because, as you can see, I had to mix it in the biggest thing I had, which was where I cooked the pasta. (Well, the biggest is the giant pot I made the chili in, but that would've been overkill.)
  19. It was not a defense. I was just saying it's a thing. Sports games is actually exactly what I was thinking of, thanks Badfinger. MMO devs definitely do it a lot, too, but that's generally because they realize something was a terrible idea, and less that they're trying to pimp their next product..
  20. I've definitely noticed and talked about it before, probably years ago on GAF, I dunno. It's a very stereotypical artist thing to do, right? Him and some other specific game dev, although I can't remember who and aghhh now it's gonna drive me crazy until I remember or forget to think about it. Whether or not it's all that common for Real Artists to do, I guess I don't really know, but it definitely Fits The Stereotype of both hating your past work and always thinking you can do better.
  21. ? People call out Molyneux basically every time he releases a game.

  24. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Yes I believe he's a co-founder, or maybe a co-owner. He has a direct stake in the company. I am amused/saddened that this discussion is happening on the same forums where Soren posts his own podcast, which is actually quite good. And yes the game does look good. ):
