This once again comes down to a very simple thing: If you can avoid hurting someone by simply not using a fucking word, and you choose to use it anyway? Yeah, you're kind of an asshole. If you're okay being an asshole, then I guess whatever fine but that doesn't mean you're not.

I proposed something earlier this morning in the Idle Thumbs IRC channel (where everyone should be because it's the coolest place on the internet), but here it is again: I wonder how viable it'd be to have a VR HMD in a sensory deprivation tank. With little sensors/vibration pads at various points on your body. So every movement you make can be interpreted by the game, and also you get some feedback (however minor, although in a sensory deprivation tank I imagine even minor feedback is going to feel More Than Usual). I'm imagining like an ocean diving simulator or a floating-in-space simulator. Ohhh it'd be rad. Yes, yes. Disclaimer: I have no idea what a sensory deprivation tank actually consists of, or if you'd even have that freedom of movement, but it seems like a good idea to me. Had I the money I'd probably try to figure something out. U:

Because Twitter, as opposed to, say, this place, is used by everybody on the planet and then some.

pretend these are lasers the shields too!

Thirding the no. That's like saying it's okay to casually drop racial slurs just because everyone around is white. Like what.
-
But that's exactly why Twitter will never be a good place to have an argument. Exceptions are nice and all but it'll never be the rule.

This is insane! THERE'S SO MUCH INSANITY HERE! I do really like Space Dandy's music, though. It's among the best.

i don't understand these words

Oh I hate Facebook far more than I hate Twitter. Twitter is still usable, at least, even if it's kind of a hot mess.
-
I'm used to that in anime so oh well.

I much prefer Twitter as a place to get little snippets of cool people's lives that they voluntarily share. Usually friends. I kind of hate what Twitter has become (and was probably destined to become from the very beginning). This is about ethics.

Last night I finally finished Chihayafuru! Well, the first season anyway. I'm looking forward to the next season! I do like the anime but man does it like to harp on Chihaya's infatuation/obsession and Taichi's jealousy/competition with Arata. I suppose that's partially the shoujo roots, as opposed to the typical sports anime which is much more shounen. It probably wouldn't bother me as much if Arata was actually present for all this attention, instead of in another city... But anyway the next season is set up for some new characters. Five of them, even! So hopefully that'll alleviate the focus on Arata, at least partially.

Yeah I definitely plan to get one of those (once I have an entertainment center).

Source 2 brings Valve, of course! But I dunno if we can glean from this that Valve actually REALLY intends to compete with Unreal and Unity.

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I just played the first one and... no it's not! You can play it that way, but every level is beatable in under 30 seconds. Literally all of them. I did it! And in most cases if you're grinding you won't get that under-30-seconds goal. -
It's a subtle indication that he's used to casually gripping something of that girth.

Baldie's website is overflowing with literally racist rants as he smokes a cigar and drinks scotch. Also every shot has a human skull in it.

I've gotten a refund every year since I started filing my own taxes because of student loans. ...I'd rather just not have student loans, of course, since I haven't made a dent in them.

Watanabe! Samurai Champloo is great for similar reasons. Kids on the Slope is good for entirely different reasons, although the ending really brought it down for me. I honestly wouldn't bother with Terror in Resonance.
