Haha yeah. I just wish I had some inkling BEFORE I ask. I mean I know I'm not the only person who has trouble with this sort of thing, but that doesn't make it any less anxiety-inducing.

Contrary to my attitude earlier when I was dreading the future, I went on this date with this girl tonight and it was cool. Whereas the date earlier this week was an exercise in get me the hell out of here, the date tonight was smooth and she was really easy to talk to and nice. It didn't last super long because she had a thing at the gym, for which I am grateful because the longer these things go the more anxious I get. But I had more good conversation in 45 minutes than I did in 90 minutes on Tuesday. Now comes the hard part of learning whether or not she also had a good enough time to want to do it again. I wish I was better at knowing how people feel about me. Not just women, but people in general. Hmm.

Also I know of at least one person who smokes marijuana in New Zealand and is working on his PhD. Like, not personally, he was just on a podcast I used to listen to often as a call-in guest, but yeah. He's probably lying and is a kid or a criminal or both.

The lady I previously mentioned and was having considerable trouble setting up a second date for (all under the insistence that she wasn't trying to get out of it) stopped responding to my texts (and the second date wasn't nearly as enjoyable as the first date, so whatever - I would've gone for a third but I'm not gonna force it). So I saw someone else on Monday and man it was awkward and really difficult to get her to talk and even once she did start talking it was still awkward. I just did not enjoy it at all. So I'll be seeing someone else today after work. She seems pretty interesting from our brief textual conversations, but in all likelihood she just won't be interested in me, as that's usually what happens. Man I hate dating. It just feels like work. I'm not cut out for this junk. I should just go back to being alone and not worrying about it.

That's not what I'm saying at all!!! I'm just saying there's a thread already with a lot of posts about it and that's a good place to continue the discussion so it doesn't drown out other things. Although I guess this episode is now the second-to-latest episode now that I think about it so it's not like it'll get much new discussion so nevermind.

All right I've been staying out of this because any time I see the words "I'm against drugs" I just kind of roll my eyes - not being interested, fine, that's your prerogative, and who gives a damp whistle - but being actively against it... Why? You've already admitted to drinking. Whether you do it rarely or not, you still do it. Why? What makes weed different? Why?

I'm gonna counter Badfinger and just say this is my favorite episode since the 'cast came back with the new structure! I really enjoyed it.

Oh haha I just meant a cliffhanger for that episode. As far as I know, there's no more seasons planned, so I'm not concerned.

I'm actually gonna flip on this and agree with Gorm even if he is crazy (U;). Not all of the cutscenes are skippable, as some of what are effectively cutscenes are interactive, for example the pizza-picking-upping he mentioned. There's quite a bit of that in this game (or at least enough to be annoyed if you don't like the story, or even just don't like doing dumb stuff the cutscene could arguably do for you).

I'm not really addressing the quality of the writing, only the very specific issue of whether or not the cutscenes are too long compared to the gameplay sections. It only forces the cutscene on you once per initiating the level. In the grand scheme of things, they were a mere fraction of my initial playthrough. That's what I'm trying to say! I think? To be even more confusing, I don't think I'm trying to say anything at all. Just trying to understand why that's even an issue in the first place. It may be something that I am physically incapable of understanding.

But you don't have to watch the cutscene every time, right? Just the once. And then after that if you close the game you can hold RMB to skip any cutscenes you don't want to watch again. I guess I just don't really understand. Oh well.

Haha fair enough. Although I think it's safe to say that most people spend way more than one minute per level, so isn't it also sorta unfair to hold the gameplay-to-cutscene ratio against the game, in that regard? Shrug I don't really know. I liked the game but I didn't get anything deep or meaningful out of it (or the first game).
