  1. Still no luck finding that first big radio job. Had a good internship, almost got another paid one with the Detroit Lions, but didn't make it past the final round of interviews, so here I am doing tech support in the mornings, and waiting tables in the evening again :(

  2. I really needed an excuse to post this GiantBomb QL.

If you have actual stuff to say then please do.

I do have an actual question however, could Valve be putting engine updates in it's DLC packs or would they need to push an 'update'? I presume DLC and updates are exactly the same thing (On Steam) just with extra interface, so I don't see why not.

I think you might be getting mixed up because of what you saw in the giant bomb QL(I watched it too) They were mentioning how they thought L4D2 was looking better, but that's just because L4D2 looks better then L4D1. The improvements in the character models and enivronments, and even more so, the particle effects, made Ryan Davis think the game's graphics were improved through the DLC, but it was just the game engine.

  3. Listening to episode 31 'Shambling, goofy', Jake refers to Doug Tobacco as a 'Magical Man'. On Top Gear, Jeff Goldblum described 'The Wizard' as a 'Magical, Magical Man'.

    Coincidence? I think not.

I think you're on to something here watson!

  4. Is anyone else really thrown by the look of the characters? Not so much their animations, just their faces, elizabeth in particular. I'm not sure if it's a characteristic of UE3, or just a design choice, or a mix of the two, but it's almost like this weird cross between realistic and pixar rounded faces or something and it's a little off putting as it stands now.

  5. Finished my first game last night. I was going militaristic with the ruskies because I could get a uranium bonus later for nukes, but I got trapped on my continent(africa) and didn't have an army to invade, and somehow I built too much and drove myself into debt, and by the time I recovered, Greece was rolling all over me :(

  6. New patch is coming out tuesday. Big change for the way Terran Seige tanks do damage is the biggest change, so now zerglings, zealots, archons and other non heavy units will become a lot more viable against tanks. With a +1 armor upgrade zerglings will actually survive 1 hit from a tank now(until the terran gets +1 weapons)

  7. Just play the game with patience is the best advice I can give. Don't go sprinting through levels the first time. Take your time with it, try to bait out enemies into 1v1 fights, learn their tendencies and counter attack instead of being reckless and you'll find yourself beating levels on the first or second try. And even if you do die, no biggie, just go back, take your time again, and when you get back to your body you'll get all that experience back, and then some more that you gained on the way there.

  8. So yea, this got revealed at TGS the other night, and it's pretty much Demon's Souls in all but name. Sony owns the IP and I think From wanted to take this one multiplatform so there you have it. Anyone else super excited about the game?

Here's the leaked trailer to eliminate all doubt that what we are in for is really a demon's souls sequel.

  9. I bought Pneumbra during the humble indie games sale but didn't have a chance to finish it. If I jump to this, will I be missing important story elements or are the games pretty self contained. I remember liking what little I got to experience of pneumbra overture's narrative
