What about Weapon Brown?
It's Charlie Brown in a post-apocalyptic setting.

My mouse pointer was inching ever so close to the Buy button on Steam for this earlier. Anyone played it yet? If so, how does it run on a modest PC (1.80 Dual Core, 4GB Ram, DX10 graphics with 512 dedicated VRAM).

We've used them for event newpapers instead of event programmes, and it's a really lovely idea. As you might expect it's not outstandingly cheap and you have to get a fairly sizeable print run, but they're certainly a bunch of good guys and trying to keep the price as low as they canNice. I fully plan on trying it out if it ends up making its way to America.

Discovered this today via a link on BBC: http://www.newspaperclub.co.uk/.
It's a LuLu-ish service based in the UK that allows for folks to print 12-paged newspapers on demand. You may use either their design tool or send in your own PDF. They're currently accepting applications for their beta.
What do you think? Personally, I feel this will revolutionize my religious tract business.

Has Peter M ever put himself in one of his own games? I'm thinking a future Fable with him as the protagonist would be great. You'd traverse the land attempting to convince people of your awesome power or something.

Here's a sweet spin-off game for those that loved the mall part.

This is exciting! Now, I must pour through the rest of the first one. This is sadly one of the many great PC games I missed upon their release. I'm trying to catch up now.

Image Comics' Mice Templar is quite grand. Think Nyhm meets LOTR. The second trade will release in this next couple of months. If you get the first, you'll be given a bible for the world Glass and Oeming created that describes its fairly complex creation myth. Both the art and story are great.
Also, since I loved the show, I've been digging the Jericho comic. The creators of the series are finishing up what they'd planned to do before it got canceled here.
Oh, oh ... Axe Cop, too. Most of you have probably heard of it, though. It's a 30-year old comic artist drawing stories written by his 5-year old brother. AxeCop.com.

Hey! =DSo, I'm not a long time listener like many of you, but you won't hold that against me, right? I remembered hearing about the show from a while ago, and then a post on NeoGaf was all like "so yeah new idle thumbs woot", so I thought I'd go back and start listening from episode 1. I think I'm on about episode 13 now, and it's easily my favourite gaming podcast bar ALWW but that's in a league of its own.
I will catch up in about 3 months, I reckon.
So yeah, Hi all.
I've tried to get on NeoGAF for a while but am apparently not cool enough. I have my own domain mail but have been rejected 2-3 times. I started cutting after the third.

They're generally pretty easy to hit though, max of three on one hand (something like Circle, X and Square) so just cover it with your thumb, and then your opposite index finger for L2 etc.And really, I think with Heavy Rain although you might know the twist, I wouldn't say you know the 'end', as your end hasn't been played yet. That's one thing I thought that was great about Heavy Rain - your end experience was unique to you.
Good point about the end. I've heard some of the epilogues described and they all sound pretty varied. I think I'll hit the video store and rent it this afternoon.

Every thing I see regarding this game makes me think Myst. I'm pretty excited to see how it turns out.

I'm looking forward to checking out Justified, the new FX show. It starts this week I believe. It's based on an Elmore Leonard short story about a US Marshall from KY sent back home as punishment for blowing away a perp. Upon his arrival, he gets entangled in a fight with a redneck Neo-Nazi dude. Timothy Olyphant plays the lawman.
Just saw Green Zone yesterday. Wasn't as Bourne-like as I expected, but it was a-okay.
Also recently saw the new Jared Hess movie Gentlemen Broncos. It, sadly, did NOT live up to its trailer. It did have a few funny parts, though. Most of the really good bits involved Jemaine Clement, who portrays a washed-up Science Fiction writer. It's mercifully short, so if you're a fan of Clement you might dig it a bit.
I came THIS close to buying the North by Northwest Bluray re-release. Has anyone checked this out yet? I love Hitchcock and hear this version of the film is quite lovely.

The multiple button presses would bother me, I think. I hear at times you need to hit four buttons or so simultaneously. I didn't have too awful of a time with Indigo on PC, though. I might still give it a rent despite knowing the end.
I've been following a Twitter account for Jaaaason. Someone is continuing his story. It's actually pretty funny.

So far, the best tweet was this:
"Forgot to mention that @ethanmars had the sex talk with me today. How the heck am I supposed to hit X, O, [], AND R2. Not having kids ever!"
Also, every song he blips is a cover of 99 Red Balloons.

This one always gets me:
Someone stages a musical in the middle of an actual university lecture.

Going to plug some pals here:
Foxhole - http://www.myspace.com/foxhole
Instrumental stuff. Think Explosions in the Sky with a trumpet. Some of their older stuff had a bit of a Blue Man Group vibe, which is something I hope their new material hearkens back to.
Heartwarmer - http://www.myspace.com/heartwarmer
Just good, catchy indie pop. They recently migrated from our native Kentucky to Seattle. I miss 'em greatly.
Interstates - http://www.myspace.com/weareinterstates
Another great instrumental band. They're a bit more chill than Foxhole with a few electronica elements.
Timbre - http://www.myspace.com/timbre
An angelic voiced girl with a harp. SIGH
And people I don't know ...
The Lassie Foundation - http://www.myspace.com/thelassiefoundation
Great shoegaze from California. Anytime you see the name Wayne Everret linked to a band, you know it's going to be good.

I'd decided that I would skip HR, so I began listening to spoiler casts on it. Now, I wish I had've waited. The twists outweigh what sounds like a tedious control scheme.

I've been playing it quite a bit this week. It's a hybrid of Twin Peaks, Shenmue, and Resident Evil. If you enjoy any or all of those things, odds are you'll be able to forgive the lackluster graphics.

Oh sorry. I was just making a (bad) joke. Any time is good.Hehe. Nah, I think new accounts have to be active a bit before being able to start new threads. When I click to do a new one at this juncture, it tells me I don't have the rights.
-
Just wondering how long I must be a member before I can make posts on other threads.

I occasionally guest host a podcast entitled Barrel Roll. WOAH!

Hey!
My name is Wesley, a 31-year old IT person from Kentucky (Our motto is: "YES, we DO have computers ... and shoes!"). A friend of mine suggested I check out the Thumbs a while back. I listened, enjoyed, but never visited the forums until now.
So, what do I do now?
Horror/Classic Lit Mash-Ups Are Driving Me Insane!

So, I recently finished Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, from the author that brought us Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. The book was actually quite clever, in my humble opinion. I do own PPZ but have yet to make it through that one. Today, I heard about a prequel coming to that book and decided to surf around for some info. Doing this revealed a terrifying list on Amazon.

Robin Hood and Friar Tuck: Zombie Killers? Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Zombie Jim? The Undead World of Oz?
Yup, all those are real. It's like the Guild of Authors decided adding zombies to a story instantly makes it readable.
Anyone have any opinions on this? I'm hardly a lit nerd but am getting a bit sickened by zombies.
