I think it's clear that #idlethumbs would be on quakenet.

Just picked it up on iPad and I loved the first episode. The controls are great, which is probably helped by the fact I expect less from a touch interface.

It sounds like they're completely decoupling the normal MMR and K-factor for this new system. After 150 games, I'm sure they have a lot of confidence in your skill level, but maybe they don't want people gaming their current rating. Or it's an exercise in true transparency. I personally believe that it's perfectly fine for a matchmaking system to obscure some values from players in order to get the most accurate measure of skill possible without player interference, but I think by restricting this system only to the truly dedicated it'll be interesting.

Audio podcasts have never been a good medium for spoilers. The Totally Rad show used to have a system where they put a red glow around the screen until they were done talking about a spoiler. That allowed you to mute or take off your headphones if you wanted to avoid them. But the most audio podcasts can do is tell you to jump ahead some random amount of time or talk around them. I guess they could tag up the episode to allow you to jump to the next section! But that seems like a lot of work. Personally all I really care about is having some warning. Most of the time I don't care about the spoiler, and really want to hear someone's experience without them constantly self-editing.

This is what I first thought of when you said that's my goof.

Oh my holy gosh in heaven it's Clint Hocking everybody! Tone Control Ep. 4

It reminds me of playing in survival mode in minecraft. The degradation mechanics reinforce the value in items, and the most exciting moments can happen after your sword breaks and you have to improvise alternative tactics to stay alive. -

its hard to beat last epochs sign, floating majestically in the tree branches. -
shipping in bulk on trucks must be more efficient than individual shipping drones for Amazon. But I saying it'll likely be an expensive shipping method for the consumer, especially at the start. It's also called Prime, so that seems like an indicator it'll be premium shipping. In the long term I think you're right, the cost of parts and fuel may be lower for these things.

After talking with people at work about the amazon prime air, we've decided that drone-hunting will become a new form of piracy. With those orange boxes they should be easy to spot in the air. Shoot them down, and you get a nice surprise in the package. Also, considering how expensive it'll be as a shipping method, the contents would likely be fairly valuable.

Well he did make the definitive guide to Dota 2.

So in today's Dreamhack finals, Na'Vi is absolutely stomping in the last game and on the Starcraft stage Darude starts up a live performance of sandstorm. http://www.twitch.tv/dreamleague/b/483930827?t=619m45s It was surreal. I tuned in litterally just when this started happening, and the chat just went crazy. I thought Darude was a player, or some hero I hadn't heard of before.

I made an Enchanting table and I decided that the north east corner where the nether portal is could be a nice big tower. That way we can have a portal to hell, and our enchanting in the tower, and we could clean up some of the hectic grass in that area. But the tower is big, it's requiring a lot of stone bricks, and a lot of time. Feel free to help out if you think you can make it better. Also while clearing away the space, I came upon someone's underground build where they buried their Hopes and Regrets. It was so confusing, and for a while I was wondering if Mojang had added new structure spawning to the game. I'm sorry we knocked a few holes in the wall, but if it's any consolation it was really interesting for the 3 of us online at the time. If you want, we can try to find a way to build the tower around your tomb. -
The villagers kept reminding me of someone, so I went into Thirty Flights of Loving and created a quick Resource Pack: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4721261/Goldblum.zip

Man this thread is too serious. peopletakingpictureswithipads.tumblr.com Also, you're a dork if you wave your cellphone around at a concert. But if you really like doing it, then just own it. Being a dork isn't the worst thing in the world.

I'd like to be in as well. But I'm just not sure how much time I have right now. My minecraft name is Forbizzle. -
Patters helped me out a lot. But Jon, you should play the tutorial stuff on your own first. It's really effective at getting you through the basics, and it'll get you to play a few bot matches before you play against real people.

Happy Dishonored Diretide everyone!

I just picked up an iPad Air, and I've been playing a lot of games on my iPhone for the past few years. Anybody have any recommendations for games that are way better on iPad? For example, Pit droids was awful on iPhone, but the controls totally work on iPad.

I feel like the thumbs channel is getting pretty empty lately. Has everyone moved on? Also this thread hasn't been posted in a while. To summarize the last month: http://blog.dota2.com/2013/11/not-my-best-work/
