Yes! The mouthfeel! Thank you.

I think the one thing that literally forces me to lose it every time I hear it is someone (mostly Chris) doing a crazy german accent. This is unfortunately one of the things that ThumbsDB cannot help me with. I already have the opening of ep 79, the mass effect dlc ones, ep 101 starcraft discussion, and of course, the weinhandler ones. If anyone remembers any times where chris or somebody has done the accent, please direct me to them so i can immortalize them in a compilation.

On Majora's tonal weirdness: The promotional stuff for the original Majora's Mask was real nightmare fuel as a kid. (My favorite is the guy at the end who says "Waitin' for the moon to drop" like its a Otis Redding song)

I suspect that Sean's Dota history already prevents this from being useful information, but League of Legends, while also obviously being a competitive LOMA, is also an incredibly fun casual game. There are frequent experimental, non competitive game modes that are rotated in and out on occasion (such as a mode where all cooldowns are heavily reduced, making things INSANE). All Random All Mid also exists. For the most part I find it very easy to play the game without worrying intensely about winning, and 10-man ARAM games over skype are probably the most fun ive ever had in a LOMA.

I will lose it if the next episode immediately begins with the cheese story.

Idle Thumbs 192: The New Blindfolded Fool

Curious how the Campo Santo office has Left 4 Dead mints laying around in 2015 for some reason. -
I really enjoyed the return of the year of the PS3 discussion. It makes me even more bummed that Gamergate has to be a thing that encompasses industry talk now, because I really loved old episodes poking fun at stupid, essentially harmless stuff that Bobby Kotick said at a press conference one time.

The biggest thing old Thumbs had was the fact that someone sent in a picture of a poorly localized Batman trading card, simply because the Thumbs talked about batman once. Seriously ep 1-50 fanmail was A+++

Dong Nguyen shutting down Chris Remo on a forum is the goofiest thing. I'm interested to see where Chris puts QWOP on this spectrum of really minimal but difficult games. I want to say that all these balancing-act kind of games are all really the same mechanic, but to different degrees of difficulty and framed in different narratives (piloting a helicopter sounds crazier than making a guy walk) such that the player gets a different impression with each game. Also happy birthday chris. Next week sounds like a good episode!!!

the last time i visited my grandma in china she told me she had been playing farmville or some equivalent game for the past 2 years. She's so far along in her farming that she constantly gets messages from other users asking for help or something. She says she's tempted sometimes to accelerate her farming by buying stuff, but chose not to. so you can put down my grandmother for liking video games. or maybe she hates them, i dont know

Warcraft III mods were way too good, man. I was the guy that played this nonstop every day:

I remember this one Louie C.K. bit about first dates: when a guy goes on the first date, he's basically a million different guys for 5 seconds each, trying a bunch of shit to get laid. For meeting new people it's obviously unhealthy to lie about yourself, but essentially there's always that surface layer that you need to start at, and you pick away at varying speeds depending on how similar two people are, or what the conditions around you happen to be. no clue how this works for other people, but small things like being affectionate or "coming on too strong" usually aren't dealbreakers. Still, what you choose to talk about at that surface level (where you really can't talk about anything interesting) is important for me.

I can't find a link, but there is a certain LGBT Neogaf thread where someone uses Sean as an answer to the question "who is your game dev crush", so you're in good company. The boyband vibes I get from this are hilarious.

Idle Thumbs 174: Live from the Metropolitan Ballroom

It's gross that I've listened to the last PAX episode (Pegasus Launch) so much that I realize that some of the same people ask questions in this one. I wish boardgames would come on the cast more. -
I was always confused as fuck during that moment where Jake made a weird comparison to closeted public office holders, and then Chris loops the audio like 5 times. but also echoing your statement, I think episodes 40-45 are what I think of when somebody asks "why should I listen to idle thumbs"
