I'm a little more disappointed I can't make a maternal fighting game called Mombo Combo. -
I found it frustrating for nearly the same thing. I was absolutely enamored with it all the way up through act 5 part 1, where the multimedia aspect was still refreshing and exciting, but Hussie seemed to switch gears at some point to way more needlessly complicated and less compelling shit. I don't mean to say that "these ppl ruined my fav comic!!!" but in my head I want to think that Hussie simply started optimizing his comic to serve the part of his audience that was far more receptive to the daunting lore, complicated plot and god/troll/sprite whatever outfit designs. The goofy humor is still there but the charming aimlessness of it is gone, and there's less reason to care about these dumb kids when theres a billion of them and you're led to believe that they all just have some key role in the big ass plot. For what it's worth, some contributors seem to profit from the relationship through the homestuck store. I do think that the fan-contributed stuff is often used excellently within the comic. EDIT: on that note, the only reason I care about this is because there were parts of early homestuck that i really liked! and its all gone now! aghhhhh EDIT2: ALSO, Hussie recently wrapped up this whole time travel arc about retconning the past like YEAR of updates? It's hilarious and baffling to me that he incorporates this array of story devices such as dream bubbles, time travel, doomed timelines and parallel universes just so he can undermine the worth of these characters. what is there to care about when literally every character death has been nullified with some weird story loophole? What a disappointing way to take that comic. imma stop ranting.

Really excited for what comes after that Gunnerkrigg chapter. I think exploring separated Kat and Annie could be really significant in the arc of the comic in general. In other news, I'm not sure I have much of a full opinion on new Homestuck (or if anyone here even followed it), but it has reminded me how much more time, patience and energy I had for this stuff 4 years ago. Jeez.

The episode title theme really is a slamdunk, considering we'll have 52 brand new ones next time around. (I envision one jake rodkin inconspicuously attempting to seed the names of games he wants in the next wizard jam into future episodes)

Off the top of my head I would say try episodes 80-99. I think that stuff came before the twangy guitar theme song which started on episode 100.

What I'm planning to do is generally that idea. Basically the game will just be Neptune's Pride but with your real life as a resource; every move you make within the game will decay your life bar and put you closer to being a baby. You'll have certain tactical advantages to interfere with your opponents ability to play the game. Likewise, you'll be presented "random encounter"-like popups that force you to either sit out or lose some life points. example text, based on a real thumbs conversation: -

progress update: After getting some school stuff squared away, I started working on the game again. Before the next weekend ends I'm planning to finish the ship moving mechanic, as well as create an AI system for the enemies that breckon fights. After that, all this other stuff needs to get done in no particular order: -parallax space background -ruination bar -ftl popups -intro/audio -win condition -balancing -nicer camera handling -

This picked up speed so fast, I'm really excited! Is anyone interested in maybe doing a GOTY.cx awards section at the end? Not actually a "firstplace,secondplace", but just to showcase 4 or 5 of the best stuff. It looks like there's definitely going to be some incredible stuff coming out.
