Some interesting things to note about fleet movement and combat that I've learned (or maybe was just too dumb to catch on to): Ships dont travel exactly when you send them, but on an hourly rate in relation to the games global clock. That means you can send ships to a location after your opponent does and as long as you end up in the orbit of the planet (the smallest circle when selecting the planet, or just select the planet and see if it lists your fleet) those ships will still fight and count toward your total number of ships there.

The last entering player also has the advantage of starting the game whenever it is convenient for him.

I'm in this super stressful arms race with the orange player who i made an early alliance with. With me as his buffer faction, he's been rapidly expanding without checks, so my control of the best technology on the map is the only thing keeping me from destruction. I'm pretty much scared shitless.

I was the one who requested it, and the only reason I knew it was space-related was because of a tweet Chris (maybe Nick?) made a couple months back. I fully endorse twitch to youtube streams, but any Kerbal Space Program highlight reel will fail in capturing the hilarious "Nick you just lost all your fuel" comments in chat before Nick's actual realization, unfortunately.

I was surprised at how fast I went from "what the hell is all this" to "oh man, i just finished everything i needed to do and i still have 23 and a half hours til the next production cycle." It was almost instantaneous. Looking at the people in my startup game, Im the only person that is taking an early lead in Science. I've traded weapons 2 for hyperspace with my closest ally, and am on my way to General Research 2. My goal is to completely dominate the galaxy via trading and bartering sciences for protection and money.

Also its hilarious that it is essentially the same plot as the Mortal Kombat remake.

The entire premise of Re-Take is so strange that I really can't support it as a "should have been", but i guess it was alright. I remember it having "adult" sections, but not enough to call it an "adult" doujin apparently.

After much of the Gatsby discussion was about Fitzgeralds diction, I'll be curious to see what the thumbs think about Hemingway. The strange thing about Sun Also Rises is that a lot of the things I loved about Gatsby (protagonists that dont need to be "liked", terse prose and lost generation themes) I really didn't enjoy as much in this book.
