Oh yeah, new(er) Monkey Island covers...I like this. You should too. Kinda in the style of CMI. 5-h5c6Yj_Vc Also, this. I know it's older now and everyone has seen it but it's good nonetheless. mYZXNVHVfhc
  2. You won't get another chance soon, that's for sure. Just do it for the sake of them....and us all...Our destiny depends on you, Snooglebum! Make...ungh...the last...Snooglebum remix....unghh.. of...the Thumb..... aahhhh...*exhale...*
  3. Scott Pilgrim [graphic novel/motion picture]

Read the rest of the books first. It's a somewhat different experience, although at the same time, the movie quite follows the books, of course. So you might want to experience the events through the books first, forming your own thoughts and perceptions about it and then seeing it on screen, as a slightly different view of it all. Otherwise, it won't be so fun reading the books after you've already seen most of the core story in the movie. I guess...I've read the books first so, that's just a presumption. And also, the books have more back story to the characters and they're much better developed so...yeah.

Jesus...this is something I certainly wouldn't want to watch while being high...
  5. A great teaser for the Idle Thumbs reunion, in the year 2019. Well, at least we know the date of the new podcast coming up. And what Jake will look like.

Because you were thumbed into it
  7. ...and he's gone....The Thumb is dead. Wave the flag of "Fuck Chris"... But seriously, I'll greatly miss them....and the pods being cast into my face.....the best thing is...the guys and the casts turned me back to the world of video games, when I almost gave up...so, thank you, Chris Boost Remo, (Fuck) Nick Breckon, Steve Hot Scoops Gaynor and Jake Video Games Rodkin....and also Sean Famous Bandanaman Vanaman. And BM Bronstring Marek Bronstring, too. Thank you guys for helping me enjoy the world of video games, once again. You gave me something to laugh, greatly enjoy, (obsess) and happily look forward to. You were a wonderful....."thing" in my life. " "Baboo", Jeff GonegoldGategoldfold said, as he smite the puffin with his wizardly salacious thumb....then he drank the last of his odious tea and joined his fellow Max Ides as they strode forth, their backs turned on explosions far behind them... " Cue Space Asshole theme, roll Thumbs credits...

How is it that someone always mentions and starts a debate about a movie in this thread that is currently on the national television here? This time, it's Starship Troopers....again.
  9. Scott Pilgrim [graphic novel/motion picture]

As a fan of Scott Pilgrim comics, this is exactly what I loved most about them, plus all the other things (some or most of which you don't like). To me, the obviously indicated video game references never actually were the MOST important part of the comics...but neither do they feel forced to me. I got the feeling that they're intentionally made that way...to feel...well, not stupid but...lame. At least some of them. The best example being ...I mean, it's kinda obvious. I felt and perceived that as attributed to Scott's lameness and idiotic behavior. Then, of course, some of the fights, such as I thought to be quite cool. I found it resembling the old japanese movies AND both the encounters in western movies, at the same time. So...yeah.

This is obviously the video of the day. It's fuckin everywhere.
  11. Scott Pilgrim [graphic novel/motion picture]

Yes, I know. That's kinda what I'm saying. When a stupid movie like Twilight can stick at the first/second place for a month and does amazingly well, but a movie such as Scott Pilgrim can't....................People are stupid. Give them Sex and the city, Twilight and Eat Prey Love, the theatres are full. Give them Scott Pilgrim, with an interesting and funny story, cool loveable characters, amazing effects and amazing direction by E. Wright, it fails in the box office.
  12. Scott Pilgrim [graphic novel/motion picture]

I know I can't wait to see it. I know I respect Edgar's work. And I know I don't judge movies by the box office success. Especially when movies like "Twilight" manage to stay at the first 2 places for almost a month.
  13. Sad video game music

Then it's time to make a new song. After all, it has been a while since your last one. I'm waiting for you to top the Max Ides theme (my fav).
  14. Sad video game music

Okay, okay, you don't have to cry about it. I don't know, I tried to embed that video right after you wrote that you can't and it worked perfectly fine for me...
  15. Sad video game music

The soundtrack for Bill Tiller's adventure game "A Vampyre Story" by Pedro Macedo Camacho is great, and has some sad beautiful tracks, like this one: fCqvgf7W1YI

You just need to paste the bit after the ".../watch?v=", in the case of that particular video, "2hr76SVj3tE".
  17. Sad video game music

Music from Shadow of the Beast is great.... qipWqOwkceg The track inside the tree is my favorite... 6BoOexC2zx8 and here's a (very slightly) different version (the difference being - the soundtracks are from different gaming platforms, of course...) H9oqYwbmzDY and so on... Ekuc6nfJXxo and the game over sequence track: noyI9UcDWdo

    I love that track...

  20. hahah, yeah, Bioshock Infinite is just the working title ...Ahh.......Chris, you.....Just...just....fuck Chris.
  21. Scott Pilgrim [graphic novel/motion picture]

Volume 5 made me pretty angry, for example....but not at all in a bad way...it made me angry in the sense that I tend to get...too much...immersed and...let's say, emotionally involved...hahah...sounds a bit stupid maybe, but it's true. But I liked the ending....although...I don't know...I could say that, through the several last pages...I kinda expected a wee bit more and at the same time I found it quite satisfying...Yeah, Nachimir said it all. I certainly have to agree with Moelman, this definitely is my favorite comic/graphic novel series...for lots of reasons that everybody who's read Scott Pilgrim, knows. It's hilarious, it has action, it has tons of references to video games, it's crazy, it has a story about band issues (bits and pieces of which I can also relate to, having experienced a somewhat similar story in my life), it has a love story (heck, several love stories perplexed), it's upfront about lots of things (e.g., as Moelman said, characters etc.), and again, it's hilarious, the style of humor being on a level like no comic book I've ever read......It is and has many things! Anyway... Yeah, about that, judging by the trailers, when it comes to Wallace's character, for example, it doesn't seem that Kulkin is going for that kinda thing in the movie....he seems almost like a tender soul, a trusty sidekick to Scott...when in the books, he is like an ...but I could be greatly mistaken for judging by the seen short trailers. There's not even 10 seconds of footage of him, not to mention the other...interesting characters and their characteristics so...I won't judge about anything until I see the movie. And besides, I've read somewhere that all the actors deliver almost perfectly and the characters are really well portrayed.
