  1. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hi. I'm a guy who plays video games sometimes.
  2. Life

This works out really well, turns out. I picked up a quiet goth chick from my college Japanese class, mostly cause she was a hot goth chick, and she turned out to be a bonafide hardcore gamer. And really cool. And not actually all that goth, in the dumb-high-schooler-stuck-in-a-phaze kind of way. Now we're engaged. Sadly, I have no great advice to give otherwise. Also, be nice to tech support. Call center jobs are soulless hells. Chances are the poor sap was only trained to click through his 12 boxes, because he works at an out-sourcing center that can't be bothered to teach their reps helpful knowledge. And nevertheless he spends all day assisting people who never considered restarting their router. And even if he suspects your problem is above his paygrade, the well-trained guys won't help you until he checks all 12 boxes. Furthermore, since his job is to solve people's problems, he spends 40 hours a week being insulted, demeaned, and yelled at (on behalf of the company he represents). You never look at customer service the same once you've been there.
  3. Recently completed video games

I finished Mass Effect the weekend before the second came out. I poopsocked the last 5 hours of that game. Man, did that shit ramp up at the end.
  4. Bad Games

You know, I did too. But the odd thing is, I seem to recall being entertained by it. My taste in games at a young age was decidedly... agreeable. Also, believe it or not, my sister rented and I played through, from start to finish, Barbie Super Model for the Super NES. It was a damnable game. I even knew that at the time. I have no excuse. See above.
  5. Life

Well, I think your original opening line is a lot better. "The Great Rock and Roll Swindle began in 1972" is a lot more enticing than "It began." Remember, nouns are power. Pronouns are weak.
  6. Books, books, books...

That was a good idea until my head exploded from doing a handstand to read those titles!
  7. Books, books, books...

The first King book I picked up was The Shining, which actually made me appreciate the Kubrick film even more. The surprise was that both versions were sort of their own entities, and each stood up on their own premises. Meh, the movie was better.
  8. So, how is everyone?

Hello everyone. My name is Michael and *sob* I used to *sniff* I used to listen to Idle Thumbs. *breaks down*
  9. I've just played the worst 360 game ever...

There's not even an invitation to get some pizza?
  10. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hullo. Yet another podcast-converted-thumbs-fan-who-now-reads-the-forums-because-he-has-no-gaming-friends here, no doubt.
