Nuclear Throne: Oh! I accidentally ate my gun.
Justin Leego replied to erlog's topic in Video Gaming
Tried the Rogue, the one where the Inter Dimensional Police Department will gatecrash every single level, twice. Good times! -
It's not quite the thing but you can have a forum hug from me Grayson. So pleased to hear that things have been getting better (sounds like you've played a big part in that happening so that's great too). -- I was approached by some JWs recently and they listened to some of my misgivings about the organization they belong to. I came away feeling vexed that I had not adequately expressed those concerns, especially over the degree of harm done to some ex-JW acquaintances during their time "inside" and subsequent exit, even if it's not easy to say such things to well-meaning strangers.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS

Some of the RPS comments on that Square Enix story were pointing out how difficult it would be to make bank after pledging 20% of revenue (rather than profit) to the publisher. -
Dear 'Merus', Please ensure that the breadcrumb trail leads back to Kojima Productions. Thank you. Your friend, Jaokim O. Hedi

Nuclear Throne: Oh! I accidentally ate my gun.
Justin Leego replied to erlog's topic in Video Gaming
Yesterday I understood that the key to increasing immediate enjoyment of Nuclear Throne is to hit 'restart' unquestioningly as soon as the option is presented at the end of a run. Now when I play it, I want to play it all the time, but then after I have played it for a while, I don't want to play it for a day. This is pretty good for life balance. [i am also on Team Melting even if my skills aren't quite there yet] -
Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.
Justin Leego replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
Quite. For some reason it is now able to run in windowed mode (standard .ini tweak), and won't start half the time. Which is kind of considered normal KotOR behaviour on PC. Not sure what changed, apart from running the x86 ver of FlawlessWidescreen instead of x64, and restarting KOTOR a dozen times. That said, the game display is still too large for the window. If the res is set to 1920 x 1080, max available, then KOTOR will display as: ..which is Best Case Scenario Goodknight sweet prince -
Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.
Justin Leego replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
Gonna have to quit Knights of the Old Republic (PC) after several hours of tinkering in order to get the screen resolution to (not) work on a modern TV. FlawlessWidescreen doesn't seem to make a difference. Best I can get doesn't show enough of the video game to see dialogue options. Can't even force windowed mode properly, maybe that's the root of the problem. Sad face. -
Thanks Zeus, I will add you to the list of people I would be interested in watching live but can't because timezonezeleventyone

Hey so is this thread still the kind of unofficial Justice Points forum? Because #80 It Happened In England has an interview with one of the chaps from The Marvellous Miss Take, who explains how a bunch of middle-aged white guys came to make an unpredictable stealth game with a smart, confident but sometimes slapstick female lead and a racial minority (in Caucasian European terms), movement-impaired, playable secondary character. It's a good segment.

They were also courteous and pretty unusual in that they would often enclose the press release vertabim after their own interpretation. -
Is bathroom best common room to build a PC in?
Justin Leego replied to Gaizokubanou's topic in Idle Banter
I ... still suspect that this is the most accurate reading. -
Thanks Clyde! Sounds like on the one hand it's not as sophisticated as SMNC. On the other, I like the idea of a more relaxed experience. Torn! And on the third, I realized that in a dream state I had been conflating footage from this and Blizzard's Overwatch.

Idle Thumbs 193: General Interest
Justin Leego replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Thanks for the unnerving mental image of a Harry Potter Disneyland theme park ride being orchestrated by the shadow of a Pet Man. -
Thanks for the recs. For some reason MBAM didn't click when I tried it last but I'll give your suggestions a go. If nothing works I'll see if Mark Maron has any episodes about people who don't have a sense of humor.

Has anyone a suggestion for a good comedy podcast? I tried Regular Features and had to stop transporting myself from one place to another because it was too hilarious. But since listening to my first few episodes, I've found the humor to be a little too gutter for my tastes. I'm looking for comedy that can make me laugh uncontrollably without making me feel used?
