http://steamcommunity.com/tradingcards#join_beta I get the impression they are being pretty generous with beta access. If you simply can't bear to wait before you start earning your badgecraft badge from time spent in CSGO, TF2, DOTA2, Portal 2, HL2 or (spot the odd one out) Don't Starve then I have one more invite spare. Receiving it requires becoming Steam friends at least temporarily.

Sending! Edit: Can you craft Badge Beta Invites into Beta Invite Badges?

Idle Thumbs 106: Imagine the Man
Justin Leego replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Nice idea! A small embroidered perch would also be acceptable. -
Twig, Forbin, are you still looking for invites to the Badge Beta?

More ponchos, you say? Did you see that tweet from Larry Hryb?

Game Journo Story is a(n allegedly) thinly veiled account of true facts dressed up as an RPG Maker adventure.

The latest Thumbs episode mentioned Christian Donlan's experience of playing L.A. Noire with his dad who grew up in 1940s Los Angles and whose own pa was a policeman for the city. So that might be of interest.

Ah! I was confused by that because you didn't have a scarf obscuring your lower facial region. The internet is complicated.

Perching, you say? Nice Episode 13 reference.

Idle Thumbs 103: A Person-Shaped Thing is a Person
Justin Leego replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
So does anyone else read this cast's title in the cadence of "Harvester of Hearts" by Rufus Wainwright? It starts "If a person should ever like a person..." http://youtu.be/wwUXADVpBUM?t=42s What's worse (or better?) is that more recently my brain's been substituting Rufus' version for Jake lip-syncing the words to a Sean vocal track. Er. And that's about it for today's edition of Awkward Pod-Related Anecdotes That Should Not Be Mentioned When Meeting People From The Internet. -
Charming time capsule message from Molyneux to his granddaughter. Can't begrudge him for that. Gotta be it.

Can somebody explain this in terms of Swapnote please?

Hmm, how often does the top 300 update for the mobile app? On the Xbox app's blog post, one staff member says: So then can we hire a pack of 40 Big Dogs to log on to the Thumbs channel whenever a new SMS starts up?

Well most things are life changing to one degree or another, sounds like some good hyperbole to me

Yeah they are not built for mass consumption. A six pack of Creme Eggs would be fine though.

How come Farming Simulator doesn't have an English language Wikipedia entry? That's just weird.

Notch makes the worlds oddest typing teacher?
Justin Leego replied to darthbator's topic in Video Gaming
Yes, sorry, that's quite correct - I didn't express myself clearly there at all. Also I was thinking about Unity's business model and the possibility of allowing downloads to mobile from the web and ... then I was gripped by a violent fever and do not recommend playing Drop under those conditions at all (this means that I recommend it) -

I... Is that the official Old Boy app? -
Yeah I had kind of assumed that you were already Hobo Loboing your artistic consultancy skills around as a high-end freelancer in the main, walking dogs at 10am, or 6am if you fancied it one morning knowing that you could nap at 10 instead, and working a steady job to cover the minimum bills as needed. What's the mileage in turning Hobo into a phone app and pitching it to the Venus Patrols and Kotakus of this world, see where it goes? By which I mean, Venus Patrol. Kotaku. Maybe Electron Dance, maybe not, you never know.
