  1. Star Wars VII - Open spoilers

Well, time to go and see the new Star Wars then...
  2. Give it two years and chuck it in your fridge.

The UN Climate Summit (COP 21) is going on in Paris right now and I suppose it concerns the subject of this thread in its broadest terms. Maybe there is a better place to discuss it within the Idle Forums but I find it heartening to see poorer, "weaker" nations (in economic terms) talking up a good game and being prepared to rely heavily on renewable energy sources. Meanwhile, the richer nations appear to be more sluggish, weighted down, causing me to question how dependent my own nondescript "developed" lifestyle is on maintaining huge and unconscionable inequalities between rich and poor both in the present and in the future. It's bumming me out a little.

Hey Glo, going from well funded to 'traditional' sounds like a good experience to have. Would a list like this help persuade you of Germany's appeal? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beer_in_Germany#Styles There's this saying among dome of my friends, "British people want to move to France, French people want to move to Germany." I couldn't tell you where Belgium or Switzerland fit into that but....
  5. Gormongous, I was looking for something with exactly that capability the minute you were writing up your recommendation. Next up: turn off Swipe To Instadelete in the Gallery app...
  6. I Had A Random Thought...

Now I imagine opening a musical birthday card to be greeted by that.

Motion to move this thread to Multiplayer Networking
  8. This forum is weird (Look a new topic!)

Now that this discussion is even 10% of the way to becoming a young sapling I feel a lot more comfortable in leafing through it.
  9. General Video Game Deals Thread

I can't say with true conviction that there's anything I'd necessarily play before the next sale rolls around in about a month's time, and that's not meant as a sleight on this raft of discounts by any means...

Thanks Joe, that was cool! Quelle dommage Oni is not more widely available on Mac and PC. Maybe Bungie would be interested in doing something through Steam or GOG with the Oni Anniversary Edition people, if it weren't most likely an infinitely easier thing to suggest than actually make happen. Edit - Take Two, not Bungie. Point proven, perhaps.

So one of the funner things about going through a bout of gastro / foodborne illness is figuring out where it came from, right? Over the weekend I attended a children's birthday party and, on reflection, I thiiiiink that I might have mistaken my forkful of brightly colored birthday cake for my repurposed fork carrying a modest mound of soft modelling clay.

I don't mind ad reads, like Jenn. The only thing is when it sounds like a personal endorsement but it isn't.

The two forum users in Paris that I know of are both physically unscathed. Another has relatives in the city who are both OK. If every person in the world is only six degrees of separation from every other, maybe it's not so strange that in Paris, a city of 2m, I heard of at least two instances of people being just two degrees away from one of the casualties.
  14. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

I think he might mean the Tomb Raider ones?
  15. Return of the Steam Box!

I've got a Logi K410 kicking about, it's decent, has the built in track pad. Think I might have preferred a Microsoft Arc from before that though? It's smaller, the differentiation between key shapes means it's easier to touchtype, and even though it didn't have an integrated pad, I still find myself using a wireless mouse over the Logitech trackpad where possible anyway.

The link is real! "The idea was highly influenced by the Xbox Live Indie title Miner Dig Deep, which I enjoyed but felt we could improve upon." http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/225257/

June is an interesting choice for a game of this stature.
  18. The Great Co-op Thread

Quotes from a couple of Steam reviews for KWAAN, posting here as it's a co-op MMO. - "For once - a pacifistic multiplayer game." - "Everyone is helpful and friendly." - "spend some time to draw in the tree or finding some hideen and secret animals" - "This game sucks Ox ♥♥♥♥, It's repetative, boring, and too peaceful." David Kanaga (Proteus, Dyad) is on the sound team which might explain some of the calm and joyful bleepy bloopyness

Do it and then set up a Patr<3on to see if people will tip you to keep doing it because it's so genius. I'm really excited for this idea.

The chances of meeting another player are (or were at one stage) said to be very small.

I don't want to sound like I think that's what's going to happen, but he does have a knack for genial specificity. That would be classic Murray. Not sure that PlayStation's new buddy Call of Duty would be very happy with that sort of immediacy though. Date (or charmingly vague window) at PlayStation Experience 2015 (December 5-6)?

To provide an alternative, opinion, I thought Trauma was pretty alright and found that the soporific pace suited its theme of convalescence. The ending wasn't the best, but then endings are difficult. Care Bear approved.
  24. Meow.

Hello cat people! I seek litter advice. I'd really like to switch from using clay litter to vegetable litter. One cat is not fussed about what it goes in, as long as the litter is reasonably clean. The other is more particular. (My feeling is that it reacts not so much to the presence of Different Litter as to Litter That Is Not Miraculously Box Fresh 100% Of The Time, but can't be sure, having got so used to wiping up gross puddles created near but not in the Assigned Place every two days.) Anyway, are there any good tips for changing litter types with the minimum of stress for our lovely, adorable, furry, affectionate and sometimes quite annoying feline friends?

Hey Donk, I tried this in portrait on an S3 just now, if it's still useful to get feedback on it? Frames per second was 22-24 and I encountered a lot of input lag, which could be network issues as much as anything else maybe.
