Chernobyl wasn't a nuclear bomb site. Look at photos of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, there aren't many trees left there if at all. I don't really have a problem with the browness of nature, it comes with the setting/circumstances, but the buildings and stuff should be more colorful, which I think Vegas will provide.

You know, to be honest, if I had one I'd totally ride a Big Dog to work. It'd be like riding an awesome killer donkey around. Will post-apocalyptic cowboys ride BigDogs?

If you actually tried to go to EVERY location (there are probably at least 200) then it would easily take you over 100 hours, especially if this is your first playthrough. If you want it to start getting a little scary again get Point Lookout. The enemies are real tough (especially when the enemies from Broken Steel are added in) and real fucking weird. The its main story arc is actually really good and way better than the main game's story. Point Lookout is easily my favorite content in Fallout 3 and is in my opinion the #1 DLC to get (Broken Steel, besides the level cap increase which doesn't really even add that much, is just really damned irritatingly cheap with its new enemies).

One stupid paper and even more stupid final, then one legitimate final and I'm done with undergrad. Two days after I graduate Red Dead comes out, then I'm going to leave on a cross-country motorcycle trip. Exactly one week.

Guild Wars is OK, it's basically a single player RPG you can play with friends and has an MMO economy. It's not a 'true' MMO. There's also no subscription fee and all the expansions are stand-alone (except the one that isn't included in the trilogy pack), so you could get one for cheap and try it out.

The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 7: Remember the Airfield
Squid Division replied to Sombre's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I just tried to reproduce the Super Mario theme in my head and after about 3 notes it turned into the Beverly Hills Cop theme. Been a very long time since I've actually heard the Mario theme. -
Yeah it knocked the wind out of me pretty hard, but luckily I was wearing my leather jacket so it took quite a bit of the force. I was able to pull over and catch my breath. I was more stunned about the fact that I hit a fucking bat than the bat actually hitting me.

The one thing I'm very confused about is the way it looks. I don't have a problem with them reusing assets, but they look...different...somehow. The textures look off, like they're brighter or have lower contrast or something.
-
No I have not. Guess that means I'm good? Although weirdly, the motorcycle under all that batman stuff does kinda look like mine..... Edit: I take that back, there was this one time in 2005 where I had to take over for a friend when he couldn't be the Night that night.

I heard opening ports frees up their stupid downloader to download faster than 5 kbps, but I'm not sure I really want to mess with doing that.
-
No idea, I was going too fast and it bounced off of me after it hit. But judging by how hard it hit me, probably not.
-
I think that the weapon mods and faction mechanics/hardcore mode will make it an incredibly different experience, even if the gameplay isn't necessarily very different.
-
Gah that was a weird experience. I just hit a bat at 60 mph on my motorcycle. Hit me square in the chest.

That looks like it hurts like hell. I agree about the editing, no one wants slo mo videos where you don't get to see the impacts.

I thought for sure the last dog's name was Mud-Butt, but it's Mudbud, which makes less sense. A dog in a children's movie named Mud-Butt would have been about the most amazing thing ever.

http://mektek.net/projects/mw4/ It has apparently be released. Sweeeeet.

Whispered World? It looks awesome, but the problem is that I'm absolutely awful at point-and-click adventure games. From the trailer it looked like it had some puzzles in it as well, like Broken Sword or something.

Yet another Eagle here. One thing that I think is interesting is that by having their kid earn this belt loop, the parents are implicitly acknowledging the ratings system and knowing how to figure out what games are appropriate for their children. Logically this then means that they can't really blame the video games or their companies for whatever they want as they're supposed to know how to be able to find the right ones for their kids. Unfortunately that won't happen.
-
From what I was able to understand out of all those companies with one-letter names, C doesn't seem to be doing anything except whining, which could possibly be why they got cut out of the loop in the first place. So I concur, fuck 'em

Steam is running a deal on Rockstar games rapid-fire style with individual games going up for sale for only a few hours. Vice City already went for $2.50. The whole pack is up for around $45. I've also gotten a code from TellTale for the entire StrongBad season for $10. I didn't see anything saying I couldn't give this to someone else (I have no idea if it will work for someone else either), but PM me if you're interested.

Well thanks to an awful starting position, an explosion of coursework, JamesM, and a backstabbing bastard in Murdoc , I'm all but done. Good luck the rest of you.
-
To break the implied secrecy on everything I feel like I need to out Murdoc. No one trust Murdoc. Believe not a word he says. (Also he tried to pull the Nigerian Prince scam on me early on. That was pretty funny.)

There's a demo for the first one (I think) on Steam. Not sure about impulse, however.

Ahh that's the name of the one I read but couldn't remember/be bothered to go look. Also

Valkyria Chronicles: I found the characters and story passable for a JRPG if not overbearing. The gameplay is amazing however, but hard to describe so I'd suggest looking up an early battle on Youtube to see how you like it. PDZ The one thing that really stuck out at me in the hour I attempted to play the game before returning it was how slow it was. Joanna moved so damned slow it was unplayable to me.
