GB QuickLook for MP.

The multiplayer is interesting in itself, but the RPS mention of perks is what really did it for me. Far too many games have stuck-in advancement systems, but in this case it seems different enough to really matter and to actually provide compelling gameplay.

Sun rises in the east and sets in the west and the clouds flow south to north. You can look at the map renders on the first page (the link in the first post). I don't think any of the render from October work yet though.

Ok so I read the last and first page of this thread. Let me get this right. A guy who made no-name games 30 years ago trademarked a word in the English language and sues people whenever they try to use it? I don't get how this guy was known before all he did was squat on trademarks, unless that's the ONLY reason he's ever been known.

Yeah me too, it reminds me a lot of the Penny Arcade Adventure games.
-
The DS version is fun too. I can't speak to how it was originally, but the DS doesn't detract any playability.

All the Fallout 3 and Fable 3 DLC is half off on xbox live. The Assassin's Creed 2 stuff is a few dollars off as well.

Ah I forgot about that. Far Cry 2: The Podcast 2? Jake and Sean: I still want that Telltale podcast. -

I presume someone moved into Chris' old apartment and is standing against the wall, dumbfounded and just praying that the police get there any second . -
Maybe Geometry should be a Classical era tech.

Especially the single player. It's VERY game-y and pretty fun too. I wish there were monsters in the MP because I think the mutual survival aspect would be awesome. At the same time, it would mess up the free form building.

Dead Space is one of those games I got halfway through in about 2 days, but never went back to. I always say that I want to, but I never do. Part of the problem is that I feel like I've seen everything already. I never got any indication there were any mechanics any further, and since I'm playing on easy, because I'm a pansy, I'd be playing through for the environments and boss fights.

Try messing with your render distance. But it does crash a decent amount. The game is just Java so it'll be the exact same as a download as it will be in the browser. I think.

I built a Nautodrome (boat racing circus) south of the Mausoleum. It has spinae in true Roman fashion to obscure the audience's view and increase suspense. Please bring your own boats for now. I feel like in a week or so we should have a big procession to go around and see everyone's stuff and have it culminate at the nautodrome for a race. (I'm such a god damn classics nerd.) Edit: Just remembered, in between the Mausoleum and Nautodrome is a public bath. See above parenthetical.

I had only been playing for about a day or so (maybe less) before I jumped into the thumbs server. Might as well come on over.

More of Orvidos' work. A Nick effigy.

Awesome thumb. Eventually our skyline will look like the forum banner skyline (the pre-apocalypse one).

Ah ok, from the interview it kind of sounded like they were just shown the same video that was released, and not like someone was there playing it for them. The game looks great, but the shooting looks the same from the other games. Something about the shooting in Bioshock always felt off to me, like the aim was slightly floaty or something.
-
Awesome, I'm building off the path towards Orvidos' place.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Gotta comment on Clutch being in the thread. One of my favorite bands. My brother flies back to the East Coast every Christmas so we can go see the Clutch Christmas/New Years show. We were at the show that was filmed for the Live at the 9:30 Club CD and DVD. Anytime anyone wants to come to see their home town shows (their best), I'd be glad to put you up. Patters, I've been listening to Warp Riders non stop since it came out, great album. I've also been listening to some Murder By Death, a dark rock folk band: 4802K4n8k6I -
Since Civ V is broken I decided to go ahead and try the game out. I jumped on the Thumbs server and was immediately greeted by the Congrats Nick sign. It feels like home. Where would be a good place for me to carve out a niche for myself? Are there any monsters in multi?

45 minutes of Chris looking bored. What was his purpose there? He's not a PR guy so he's not there to tell Levine what he shouldn't say. Did he do the play-through or something?
-
Has there been any news at all for this game in the last few months? Kinda weirdly quiet for a game coming out soon. Also, Molyneux killed Milo.
-
I have to agree with the interface not being better. It's prettier, but not better. For example, I have no idea if there's a way to find out people's relations with each other, so I can't tell who else is at war with who.

Be aware, the multiplayer doesn't allow you to save, only autosaves. So before you go into a multiplayer match you'll want to pick up later, go into the options and set your autosave to 1 turn. Keep many of them as I think single player ones will overwrite the multiplayer ones if you play after.
