Ah whoops, guess I missed that. The reason I asked is that for about the 20 minutes I listened to, it wasn't very skype-y. So as a skype podcast it comes off pretty well. I found the background music pretty distracting though at the beginning, and it didn't add much for me.

Do minecarts/tracks work yet? I heard murmurs that the Boo update changed them in MP someway, but I figured I'd ask instead of breaking the server. -
What type of podcast were you going for? Is it skype?

From Notch's Twitter. I really need to learn how to use redstone. GxoGWFuOOhs

I finally finished Plants vs. Zombies last night. I bought it when it came out on the PC but stalled when I got to the roof. I bought it again when it came out for iPad and once again stalled when I got to the roof, but finished it up last night. A seriously great game with TONS of stuff to do after the Adventure Mode. It was better on the iPad, so if that's an option, or you're looking for iPad games, go that direction.

Anyone else looking forward to this? I'm a big fan of the Assassin's Creed series despite all its flaws. The multiplayer sounds great from this RPS article. (Basically, I needed an excuse to post that article here.)

Are there any renders yet? Can anyone make one? -
I really hope IGN came up with 'Less filling, more killing'

I agree and disagree. I come from a classical civilation-literature background where, like all art, influences and context are HEAVILY emphasized. But at the same time, I think something has to stand up on its own. An example I was thinking of recently was watching the GiantBomb quicklook of the new Force Unleashed game. I thought, if this was the EXACT same game as the first one, I wouldn't know, and it could be great for me. On the other hand, for someone else it'd be the exact same game as a game they already played, and therefore totally boring and repetitive. Neither is wrong, and both are valid, but one is technically more informed about the product. I'd side more with the context-informed view for better analysis of the game, but it could easily overlook things that are taken for granted by an analysis that addresses its influences.

Unfortunately I'll be out of town for the update for a funeral. Would someone mind getting some video of the Mausoleum's annihilation? I'm not too worried about anything else. I wish Minecraft would work on my iPad. -
Wow that was a lot of insightful Half Life 2 Episode 3 info. This will set the internet alight.

A crazy mod that basically turns the game into a allied/warring city game. Not sure how much fun that'd actually be, and you'd need a huge server for it to be fun, but it's a good idea.

It was pretty bad on the Colbert Report about a year back. He kept swaying to make it look less noticeable I think, but it didn't work all that well. It's kind of upsetting to watch him.

I agree with all this except for the damned walking-TNT zombies. Those guys are just annoying. Can you set off TNT with an arrow? Could make for some interesting perimeters around our constructions. Will the new update put the mobs in MP? -

Aw someone blew up Thumbhenge. There wasn't any TNT in the chests at the marina, I presume it's all out? I ran out of inspiration (and Fallout came out), so I dropped off. Is there a date for the update yet? And a date for the server reset? -
I wanna know what you guys think of my goddamn DLC
Squid Division replied to Steve's topic in Video Gaming
For those who have played through it on 360, is it completely standalone, like just an option in the menu to boot up? I've only played about an hour for BS2 since I got it. -
I'd say absolutely, but depending on your patience for bugs, wait a month or so.

3 has the same save system. Something always happens that spooks me about dying or locking up to remind me to save. Luckily it rarely actually happens.
-
haha so now with the new patch, when I go to pick a lock, I have a black computer terminal screen covering the lock, so I have to pick by feel alone.

Yeah I saw that RPS review. I disagree with about all he said in it. I feel like the wasteland is way denser and more populated with cool stuff that actually has stuff in it than 3. His review is more accurate of 3 than NV I feel like. I do agree about the areas not being populated enough that should be, like the strip and casinos.

Man there are a lot of quests in this game. I've completed 14 and have 12 active.

I hate the cowboy gun reloads because you can't interrupt them. It makes even less sense for them since you're putting one round in at at time. Another thing I LOVE about the game is how they actually put most of the towns in the wasteland (like Big Town was in 3). Very few towns have a load screen before them to get into them (like Megaton/Tenpenny/Rivet City). It really helps with the atmosphere and doesn't slow down the game. Unfortunately there are more load screen towns around Vegas than in the rest of the game that I've found so far. For Vegas and it makes sense, but for the it doesn't. There's so much to do outside of combat in this game that the weapon stats feel like the least important. And Barter is ALWAYS coming up and I can never find a damn Salesman Weekly when I need to. By the way, the magazines are a great addition, since they allow you to get by some of the other aspects without having to specialize in it. Need to win a speech option? just use a magazine to push you over the edge of the points needed and you're good to go. This makes the perk decisions harder, and I actually chose the Comprehension perk. ^Basically the game goes a long way with the stats and items to shy you away from min/maxing. I seriously need to find a Salesman Weekly for Vegas though. Anyone know where one is, or where a merchant that has one is?

There aren't any spoilers for this but if you know nothing about the game or don't want the main factions' identities spoiled, don't click.
