They were both within 10 feet of Sam Jackson and didn't take his arm!

Dammit, now I'm never going to get into the game industry. But who's going to write the next Kane and Lynch game?

My first thought was 'wow is that a terrible Medieval II mod?' and yes, yes it is.

Isn't that basically what the King Arthur games are? As a big Total War fan and non-Warhammer fan, I don't really care that much, but I doubt their A-team will get taken off of Total war, and be very wary of any team from CA that's not their A team.

I actually prefer the level design to Mount and Blade since they're smaller and easier to get back into the action. I dislike the fact that the game doesn't really let you hide behind your shield, like M&B does, but I suppose it's more Medieval to M&B's Dark Age vibe.

Having bought some Fallout 3 DLC on both, and I presume the answer is the same, then no you'd have to buy it again.

Idle Thumbs 80: Happy Dishonored Halloween
Squid Division replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Still listening, but Sean missed a 'Monday Morning Lording' opportunity. -
I'm actually reading Black Swan Green at the moment, and I'm glad to hear that it all comes together. I didn't really expect it to, but I didn't have a problem with that. I'm about a third of the way through and I enjoy how he's just slowly building tension, but you can't really tell for what.

To me it feels an awful lot like a super typical American 50s sci fi B movie. The fact that 'Moscow', 'Nigeria', 'and 'China' all look like the midwestern United States, and the big no aliens decal on the dropship are what instantly implanted this in my mind. So, I just imagine I'm playing Dr. Strangelove's Alien Defense game.

So what's a good research path? I've just gotten my first Alien Base mission, and so far I've been going ground laser weapons and armor, while trying to get a third satellite up.

Just beat the iOS version. The game is pretty good, but the iOS touch controls can be finicky. Also, man, that last fight sequence is terrible isn't it?

In Cloud Atlas Luisa Rey and Cavendish are both characters from Ghostwritten - his first novel. Cavendish is the same, Rey seems to be quite a bit different (especially given that it's about 50 years later).

One of my favorite things about Mass Effect is that it shows the actual gun you have equipped and they are holstered on your armor. It doesn't work for the rest of the items, but it does for your equipped weapons and armor.

I'm not really one to crow about soundtracks, but this game's is really good. Although the huge crescendo in the menu music is a bit ostentatious.

not a big fan of the outdoor environments for some reason. I really like(d) the indoor dungeon ones, especially the jungle sets from the original. So far in act 1 it's just kind of been generic dungeon.

There's an extensive amount of heat shielding over the pipes. The scrambler pipes' most limiting factor is the lack of a lot of saddlebag options. People have come up with a good amount of stuff, but very few are all that elegant.

Whenever I play I usually put up a game called The Wizard, with a description Video Games. Password - Video Wizard. Feel free to jump in.

Not to attack you, but more a rant on the 'death of the author': I am STAUNCHLY opposed to the idea of the "Death of the Author". The idea that because I interpreted the book differently meaning my interpretation is just as valid as what the book is 'supposed' to be, doesn't sit with me. Mitchell wrote what he wrote, he wrote it for a reason, and he constructed it purposefully - something that turned into a criticism of the work through my misinterpretation. That is, just because it might make the book work better, doesn't mean it's right. It drives me crazy when people apply it to works whose sole purpose is to convey a specific and direct message. There's not really room to interpret the message in Cormac McCarthy, Dostoevsky, David MItchell, Homer, Aristophanes, Virgil, Livy, Thucydides (just to name a bunch of authors I'm the most familiar with and would be able to argue should anyone disagree). It's not just books either - Bioshock, Breaking Bad, Alien. Each of these authors/works has a very specific purpose in mind and just because you don't like it, don't catch it, or find another interpretation you're able to shoehorn into (a strong way to put it, but it conveys what I mean) the work doesn't mean it's just as valid as what the author actually says. I think this is definitely something the cast should address (if it hasn't already - I haven't listened to the first one yet). I'd especially like to hear Sean's as the writer on Walking Dead - where the audience is 'writing' their own story.

One criticism I have with the book's structure

I had a weird experience the other day when I was walking up to my bike and noticed that part of the plastic on my key had melted. I had dropped them a few days before and they fell between the header and the engine and it took me a bit to get them out. So I thought I'd switch it out with my spare key which is not melted in the slightest. But then it occurred to me that how many other keys have the opportunity to ever get melted because you dropped them in your engine? Certainly not car keys.

I've read a bunch of his novels, and I think All the Pretty Horses is definitely up there for one of his best. It's easily his most 'normal' book of those that I've read, but it's also the most personal. Given the themes and young characters, it was also surprisingly brutal, especially the prison scene.

Yeah the original Goldwings are pretty awesome.

You should definitely buy your friend's Goldwing. It was a prophetic dream.
