Yeah a headset is what I was leaning toward but I plan on playing this extensively so it would have been nice to hear the sound through my 5.1 system so being stuck with headphones for hours is a bit uncomfortable. So a headset or a normal mic? Damn, i guess it doesn't make much difference. I'm shy when talking to strangers so I wouldn't be using it that much

Any suggestions on what type of mic/headset to buy for this? What are you guys using?

Did anyone in the EU pre-order a retail copy of this? Just got a notice from the retailer I pre-ordered it that the game is delayed for whole EU, PC and console, til the 23rd. Supposedly they got this from EA. If this is true, I will never, ever pre-order anything again. Preordered MW2 - canceled because of all the shit they didn't do. Preordered L4D2 - delayed. Fuck it, I'll buy them when they are released from now on.

Do you get the Authoring tools with L4D2? I'd like to get into mapping but I don't have the original L4D.

I don't know if doing any of this will cause VAC to think you're cheating so do it at your own risk. People over at the IW forums are doing it. I read that VAC won't ban you for tweaking and if it would detect it as a cheat, the game would overwrite the file like it does with the other .cfg files. Why would you want a console for it though? You can get a stick for the PC. Gamepads are just as bad as kbd as far as SF is concerned.

I just like to shoot with iron sight. Spraying isn't my thing and it's only wasting a lot of bullets for doing nothing. I've played the demo now for about an hour, it's OK. I'll see if I can get over it. It's annoying how arcadey the sniper is, though.
