What! What! What! The EMPIRE was built on tea! We need to swap addresses and I'll send you some fine English tea and you can send me some Finnish tea and we can compare!
I'm reeling from your comments! Blasphemy!

RE: $20 cough up
I say just don't pay her anything and if pushed say why. Chances are there are other people who feel the same as you if she was such a cow to work under. Also, if she was earning much more than you she doesn't need the money. If I were your co-worker, I would have the utmost respect for you standing up to the bullshit like that. Sure, people might bitch for a couple of weeks, but when that crap fades I think in it's place will be a quiet respect for your honesty.
Don't perpetuate the false feeling that everybody thought she was great, she will come back from maternity leave and be the same old rubbish.
Haha, reading this back I realise I'm out on a limb here, but I can't stand office bullshit like that and I wouldn't be forced into it. If I couldn't face being a man about it (which I probably couldn't in fairness, so I understand your situation) I would just say I was too poor to handover £20 and dodge the issue in the future.
I don't mean this post to come across in any other way than if we having a talk down the pub, so definitely no offence intended in anyway.
Good luck!

I should say that I like BRKL and am only being jokey when I say I'll murder him for slating the films.
Sent from my iPhone on a plane to Finland.

I have starred your post in my head Luftmensch.

Whoa whoa whoa! There are some serious armchair director opinions going on here!
The LotR films were brilliant and could have been longer - no Tom Bombadil or Grimald taking over the shire - I would have liked to have seen that too, no matter how long that made the film.
Take that armchair people.

I tried redeeming Machinarium but it's gone. Thanks anyway though.

Haha yeah I was serious! I'm clueless about stuff like this! If it's not on Steam, I'm never going to know about it, and if it is on Steam there's still a good chance I won't notice
I gave £2 to Wikipedia yesterday - there's my payback.
Lesson learned - never assume Armchair has any clue about what's going on in the game world - he probably has no idea. That's what I have you guys for!
Edit: Thanks also to YS.

What are these humble bundles? Is Saints Row with it? I feel like I've taken a pee in the forbidden pool without realising.
-
I would, I love company of heroes...except I forgot my relic log in and I couldn't get back in - I even bought the games again on Steam but it remembered I didn't know my login and barred me. I'll try messing around with it again and let you know.
Also, thanks YS for the forthcoming Saints Row key!

I haven't got Saints Row the Third!
I'm basically too broke to buy any games at the moment. I'll have a look at what I have on Steam to pay some love back in to the system (when the Steam servers are working again)

These don't usually make me laugh, but this one is good.

I second the fun time-ability of the game. There's a steep learning curve, and for a good few games you'll be wanting it all to go away but then suddenly, like Neo, it all comes together and you are able to chop another man's arms and head off at whim, this is pleasing.

On the SSD discussion, I've had 2 Samsung 64Gb SSD's for getting on for 5 years now and they have worked flawlessly - I have them in a mirror config (RAID 0 I think it is) and they copy themselves onto a hard drive, so if they fail I have a copy of my vital, life saving work. Ahem.

Fuck it. Grimrock's £2.99 today AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!
-
There's always pleasure and pain with a Steam sale - it hurts when I see a game I paid top whack for only a couple of weeks ago (I'm looking at you XCOM) but Civ 5 for £5 is insane value for money and I've hoovered up Legend of Grimrock for the same.
-
Amazing. They've managed to develop a system for sending a 'bullet' of light and created a camera that takes a trillion frames a second, seen some unusual effects that have not been seen before and all brkl can say is 'yeah, whatever, it looks like a video game'
Bah humbug!
Still love you Seppanen you oaf.

Protesting Christmas via avatar this year because I have zero photo editing skills.
I'm self taught....not that you would know it.

Whoa! Mind blown!

I'm pleased you're feeling better Salka. Do I detect a certain resignation in your post? no unifying diagnosis I suppose?
-
Haha! I have no idea if that's real but that made me laugh, especially the checkpoint thing, all too familiar. What is the game btw?
