  1. PC Tech questions

Many things. Exactly what GPU do you have? 512mb is a small buffer and you may well see a reduction in framerate moving up the resolution scale. Different games work differently depending upon your hardware. For instance any given game may 'prefer' to work with nvidia over ATI, Intel over AMD etc. Some games are more dependent on CPU processing power than graphics grunt. Your performance in any game will be relatively individual to your system. As far as upgrading goes (if you feel you need to), you should look to balance your system. If you have a fast GPU, your CPU may be throttling it's performance, so buying a faster GPU won't help and vice versa. If you post your computer specs, the games you want to play and at what resolution, we can find out the likely performance.
  2. Left 4 Thumbs 2

Sorry I couldn't make Sunday's game...MOTHERS DAY GUBBINS. I'm on track for the coming Sunday, although that's going to be BF2 if things go according to plan... ^^ I second JamesM's recommendation.
  3. BioShock 2

Snap. Very forgettable in my opinion.
  4. Flash game websites

Hey guys, do any of you know of (relatively) child friendly flash game websites? My middle son is five and likes playing the games on Andkon.com and onemorelevel.com which are easy for him to navigate and have a good selection (attention span is an issue at age 5!) Any ideas appreciated.
  5. Dawn of War 2

Yeah I could be...depends on the wife, but drop me a tinkle anyway and see would you? (Patters has me as a friend, my Steam id is Armchair General)
  6. Flash game websites

    Which one?!
  7. Life

Do you have internet access and any games you can play online? If you do, I'm sure we can get a few Thumbs together to have a game and a chat over Skype/Steam or whatever. I know from experience that it's truly miserable to be on your own away from home; I sympathise.
  8. Starcraft anyone?

I believe Wokkels (a new member) is pretty good at Starcraft...you may have a challenger.
  9. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Yeah I think everyones friends list was borked yesterday, possibly a fix? We don't hear Wokkels mouth breathing/knuckles dragging very much so Skype seems pretty good It's nice to have other people talking..I am the English bitch of four Dutchmen on a regular basis at the moment.
  10. GTA LII: Steve McQueen's Greatest Role

I know this because you have told me. Honestly. I don't hide in bushes outside your house I promise.
  11. Not very good. There seems to be no observable impact on cpu etc from Skype.
  12. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Oh hey Tibz I didn't see that you had joined the game ( I am not very observant of these things). It's difficult to keep track of who's doing what which is why Skype is so good, the conversation and banter is half the reason I like playing so much too Either post or PM your Skype id if you have one and you can join in, it's definitely worth it.
  13. Flash game websites

Both good thanks guys, particularly the ferryhalim one; my daughter will love that too!
  14. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Hey, I added you as a friend in BC2, but what's your steam id and skype id? If you circulate those, we can message you when we have impromptu games (which we are having alot of at the moment:grin:). You can then join in the chat and ridicule JamesM for his complete lack of helicoptery skill . (sorry for triple post--->scatterbrain)
  15. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

It should be called Battlefield: Bad Crystal meth 2. Wait till you get to the early teen ranks..levelling up works on a geological timescale, at least for me and my puny skillz. How some of the guys on there have got to like 25-26 already is beyond me.
  16. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

YES! The more the merrier! I personally pledge to still be playing it when you have the cash to get it. We could take over the world with our opposing digit army!!! Muhahahahaha (fades into maniacal laughter, back into his cell at addiction clinic)
  17. That would be a bonus. I am a bit rubbish at knowing how to do softwarey things and thus end up not being able to add people who message me (Sorry in arrears and in advance for this). It remains beyond my skills to set the bloody thing up (looks towards the computer geeks).
  18. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

I am playing this game waaay too much at the moment. ADDICTION.
  19. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

^^ I was just about to post this too...incredible. I really admire people who have the ability and patience to do this kind of stuff.
  20. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Yeah we did, although a couple of us had to LEAVE battlefield to make up the numbers Actually, we had a great game and I felt bad for not wanting to join in the first place I do think we need some kind of rota. We could get in the situation where we have say three in L4D2, and a few in DoW and BF2 which would make less overall thumbs enjoyment in my opinion; splitting the gang like that. I don't think there would be room for two games in one night as a rule; I didn't get to bed until really late last night (having played L4D2 and BC2) and can't do that every week. I'm still up for Friday to be the BC2 night but I am happy to go with the flow.
  21. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  22. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Snippet of us skypers...'where's Toblix?...I don't know...oh?! He's on the other team...what's he doing there...Christ knows...is he coming back?...no idea...maybe he has switched sides in a selfless act to rebalance the teams...yeah that'll be why....are you in the chat 'Blix?...'Blix?...(etc etc)'
  23. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Ah, black valk is Mike, it all becomes clear. Tell him to post and say hi or we will all be saying..'Wokkels? Who the fuck is THAT guy'
  24. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Just one...who are yo...I'm kidding Hi Niels
  25. The inaugural event! The premier event of 2010. The finest shooter since the last one. Yes. It is, Battlethumbs: Idle Company. I am of course assuming we are going to make this very Sunday night the first official Thumbs shoot up. If you're with me say YESSIR! 8pm as usual.
