  2. Idle Thumbs Camping

Ha! Just checked in. Sorry Scrobbsy! (he hasn't just made it up honest) I did suggest this in another post and I am still up for this. My shift rotas are very dodgy in that I can only 'book' things with great difficulty. I know that I definitely can't do Glastonbury week in June so would probably be looking at August time and likely with a only a few weeks notice of the exact date. I think this could be really great if some of us were able to meet up especially the continental contingent too. I hereby express my interest for a date sometime in August. All those in favour say '' in this post and we can nail down a date, probably a weekend would be the ideal. Bring on Shropshire! P.S: I come with a large trailer tent, a wife and three children (this is how i roll people), would this be cool Scrobbsy? PPS: Not worried about the river so don't sweat it.

Those chain tensioners are a good idea, I didn't know you could get those, that'll save my fingers when trying to hold the chain taught on my kids bikes having changed the innertube. Chain tensioners...who knew. Thanks Nachimir:tup:

WTF?!?! He can't do that can he? I mean, someone must know where he lives. You can't just up and leave you know. We require at least 3 months written notice and a letter from your Mum or registered guardian confirming you are of firm mind. Shit. You're not dumb Kromsy honest. Chin up dude, see you back again when things are a little easier I hope.

I keep goofing up my spells by using wasd to move, spazerk that I am. Seems fun though, better than Torchlight I reckon.

  14. Recently QUITED games

Stalker-Waaay too much walking about. GTA 4-a bit samey for me. Alpha Protocol-bought in the Steam sale, played ten minutes which was enough to see it was utter pants. Sub Command-it takes five hours to get to another piece of blue, before you either die, or miss the mission entirely. Jane's Fleet Command on the other hand, I have played to death (yes, thanks, that's my anorak) Just Cause 2-There's only so much of the same thing a guy can take. There are others. I am fussy. I complete the majority of games. I have a few games I play again and again and again. Company of Heroes is one such game. Man, I wish they would release a Vietnam based version, or a modern arena. I love that game- 'now is not the time to smoke a ciga-fucking-rette Johnson'. Does anybody else like Company of Heroes?
  15. Can someone help me identify this strange hard drive?

I think you are getting AAEA confused with DCHG (Dionysian Caligula-esque Hard-ON Generation). Either way, the recycling facilities for such artefacts are deep underground and can only be accessed by achondroplastics endowed with size 11 unci; my council doesn't have those privileges unfortunately, Tani will be lucky if his does. By the way, I really need to find out what this is so I can throw it away anyway... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Any ideas?
  16. Life

I've been awake for coming up 24 hours, working an 11.5 hour nightshift in the middle of it. I'm starting to shake. What's the longest you have stayed up?

  19. Can someone help me identify this strange hard drive?

I think if you take the platters out, you can hold them up to the light like an xray and read what's on them.
  20. Awesome TED Talks (and similar enlightening lectures)

Kingz, you should have a go at doing one of those videos (The RSA animations). Build it, and we will watch it.

Interesting. It looks very much like the reporter had a TIA (Transient ischaemic attack) in that clip. That look of bewilderment on her face as it's happening is very common in my experience. Infact, I think you can see some subtle changes in her facial musculature also. I hope she is ok, it really is very frightening for the poor people it affects.
  22. Spawn of Thumb!

How many of you Thumbers have children? I know Pilgrim and Wrestle do but what about all the rest of you? Own up! Proud Dad moment: My 12 year old son casually playing a ski jumping game on my brother in law's iPad t'other day...whoops BiL's score, said BiL spends rest of the day frantically trying to beat it. All of a sudden a whoop is emitted from the grown man only to turn to utter dejection moments later as he realises he's only good enough to come 4th (behind the top three scores owned by my son) The look of sheer ownage pleasure on my boy's face was fantastic My children's love of computer games *I think* outstrips mine, even as a child. It's only a matter of time before they are thrashing me at Mariokart etc. Anyone else have personal gaming history moments with your children/neices/nephews etc?
  23. Christopher V. Flett - time to grow up

Truly, the last word (in the Oxford English dictionary anyway) Zyzzyva.

  25. Spawn of Thumb!

This morning, my middle son is overjoyed that he can start a game of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 with the 21E machine gun. Thems the days.
