  1. What would Molydeux

I think it's just a backhanded way of calling out the AAA industry for its lack of diversity. I don't think it's so weird if you accept that he's speaking to a hypothetical audience that doesn't know that gamejams tend to have a lot of non AAA industry folks (and indeed AAA industry folks are probably usually a minority). But maybe what's weird is that he thinks that someone who finds their way to an article about molyjam would fall into that hypothetical audience. *shrug*
  2. Idle Twits

I'm not on the list either @juv3nal
  3. What would Molydeux

a joystiq article about it, which I'm only linking for this amazing pullquote:
  4. Uncharted 3: the Uncharteningest

Really? I thought collecting sets gets you upgrade money in multi/coop? Oddly I haven't played through the coop adventures this time around even though I really liked them in 2. Lending the game to a friend right away once I finished the SP might have had something to do with that.
  5. Books, books, books...

Yeah I've read the English translation of A Void before. Interestingly, some of the excerpted reviews on the back had chosen to follow the constraint as well. I'm a pretty huge Oulipo fan after stumbling across the Oulipo Compendium a while back. Incidentally, if anyone out there is vaguely interested in experimental writing and has no idea who the Oulipo are: The Oulipo Compendium is just about the best thing ever.
  6. iOS Gaming

So I have been playing Hunters 2 on my phone (it's a kind of an x-com lite) thing. I have exactly 5 guys in my squad and I have named them all after the thumbs roster so if any of y'all get mauled by a xenomorph IRL, you can maybe blame me.
  7. Beyond Better & Evil!

But they added a planter/ridge thing which is all 3D. It is the futar!
  8. Beyond Better & Evil!

They didn't do literally nothing, but it seems like the kind of stuff no one would notice much unless actually looking at comparison shots.
  9. Books, books, books...

Experimental Lit Geek Alert: I am reading Life: A User's Manual (translated into English). It is weird and awesome. A bit like Dictionary of the Khazars in that it is more about a collection of only loosely related stories than it is a contiguous single story (although there nominally is an overarching plot and it isn't really approachable non-linearly the same way Dictionary is). Just through the first section of the book and there have already been passages that include some sort of convoluted discrete math/logic proof, a recipe, and multiple pages devoted to excerpting from a mail order catalog and that's just what I remember off the top of my head.
  10. Mass Effect 3

    Raged
  11. Mass Effect 3

That's supposed to be an omniblade? It looks more like a squashed Hanar.
  12. Planescape: Torment

"Planescape: Torment as a book" I'm not sure it really holds up as well on its own though. Part of the appeal to me is the degree of reactivity to your choices.
  13. Journey (thatgamecompany's next thing)

I did one play through. It was awesome. If I had to pick nits with it, I'd say the section where overstayed its welcome a teensy bit. One awesome coop thing that happened was when but if you have a ps3 and have not played it, you basically should do that rather than reading those spoilers. unless you're some kind of weirdo that hated flower.
  14. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

Oh man, that one shot with the Manny cutout just gave me a great idea: Grim Fandango remake using stop motion animation of papercraft assets made out of money. They could rename the main character... wait for it... ....Money Calavera.
  15. Waking Mars

I played spider and completed it on the basic level, but I think (not sure) to suss out the whole story you need to get all the secrets or whatever which unlocks an extra level with some more backstory stuff. I read a review of waking mars which indicates that there are parts which get kind of tedious in that you have to lug seeds from one part of a level over to another part and do so repeatedly. I'm vaguely interested in the game, but that review has got me waiting for a sale.
  16. Mass Effect 3

IMO, not really. I mean I don't think any of things he says about the story are untrue, I just don't feel they're as big a deal as he makes them out to be.
  17. Giant Bomb

oh man, wizard BSE is the worst.
  18. Mass Effect 3

ehh, it sucks to be sure, but the pullquote is misleading as the article indicates later that it is possible to get the best ending without touching multiplayer, just that you have to do some dull missions, apparently.
  19. Steam Box

apologies for sparking the derail folks. I just linked because it was topical.
  20. Steam Box

this is not the webcomic you're looking for
  21. Steam Box

The article mentions the specs may be similar to the alienware x51, the i7 version of which is going for $1150. That's including their profit margin of course. I wonder how much the i7 x51 costs to produce?
  22. No worries from me. I am too lazy for ganking.
  23. Assassin's Creed: Mohawk

Is that necessarily the case? I thought he just needs to be Desmond's ancestor. Which means the bloodlines could get mixed some time later, no? Having not played revelations, it's entirely possible I have no idea what I'm talking about though.
  24. IDLE THUMBS KICKSTARTER!

So that's what the forum code is for strikethrough. Count yourselves lucky, you have been spared any number of FTFY comments from me due to my previous ignorance.
  25. Journey (thatgamecompany's next thing)
