Oi! Young whippersnapper: GET. OFF. MY. LAWN. ;P Seriously, I remember when Zaxxon was the new hotness because it was isometric.

I beat it. It's very easy/handholding through the first 6-7 cases. The last 2-3 I liked because it gets a bit more complicated. I thought it was ultimately worth the $6 (I think? maybe $5? don't remember) for the extra cases. edit: also I picked up Miracle Mask but haven't dug too deep into it. Liking it so far though.

I'm half playing devil's advocate here, but I'll be "that guy" and say that the problem is that its very openness can be interpreted (uncharitably, sure) to mean he doesn't really understand what he did wrong. He says "I realize I was wrong and I’m genuinely sorry." without acknowledging specifically what he was wrong about, why/how he was wrong about it and what he should have done instead. Maybe he knows all those things, but the statement avoids making that explicit and if he doesn't have answers to those questions, that's not a good recipe for not behaving in a similar way in the future.

Borrowed copy of assassin's creed 3. Not really as bad as I had heard/feared, but I did come to it late so maybe I avoided some bugginess that got patched out? Ship combat was cool, sending out trading convoys and any of the crafting that didn't involve weapons/tools was completely 100% superfluous. If you ever needed money, it was easy enough to just hunt and dump off furs the next time you get to a shop. But otherwise, it was more assassin's creed which, while never zomg amazing great, is not a horrible way to spend some time assuming its been long enough since the last one. Also, every time I see the credits roll on an AC game, it amazes me that something involving that many freaking people ever coheres into a game. It's an impressive testament to the occassional usefulness of pointy headed manager types as much as they're usually the subject of mocking/denigration.

There's QUILTBAG Although, I guess that could be sandwichy depending on your temperment.

oh and seeing as how those images just loaded for me, guess 'sad Jason Statham' is not so Jason Stathamy after all.

Yeah. To be clear, I didn't figure it out myself. There is an faq or walkthrough somewhere that explains what you need to do. For anyone who hasn't played it, the way it's presented in game is very much "you need to pick a faction" but by killing the head of the faction you've been doing quests for you can kind of reset your neutrality status and take up with another gang.

Purely by hours played, it'd have to be fallout 2. There was a weird period where I played fallout 2 and nothing else for the longest time (beat it 6 times normally, and probably an additional 15+ times with the assistance of walkthroughs and/or save editors). It got so I was so familiar with large chunks of it that I could just play on autopilot with the sound off while watching something on the tv. One of the most amazing things about that game to me was discovering that if you betrayed the gang families at the right moment (and this needed to be done outside of dialogue, by manually entering combat mode and attacking the head of the family), it was possible to do (and receive xp for) all the quest lines for the major gangs in New Reno, all Fist Full of Dollars style. SO COOL. Rodi makes a good case for Morrowind which I also spent a lot of time with, but looking back I think the majority of my time was spent futzing around with mods. Not sure I ever finished the game proper.

thanks! also note that Tom Nook's indiscriminate lending practices are what led to the sub prime crisis. Plus I hear if you play for long enough without ever paying, he sends a gang of 'oids to bust yer kneecaps.

there's an extra period at the end of it. try this link: http://gaygamer.net/2011/05/on_ratfist_doug_tennapel_and_w.html

For the big AAA stuff, sure, but I get the feeling Sony is going to crush Microsoft when it comes to weird indie stuff.

I don't think you've added me 1134 7849 0600

Oh incidentally, are you familiar with the work of David Markson? He peppers his writing with all sorts of obscure biographical trivia/apocryphra about various writers, artists etc. A lot of his books are more than 50% comprised of such anecdotes even though they're classed as novels.

It is well written, but I'm pretty sure I disagree with (what I gather to be? excuse my shitty reading comprehension if not) the idea that suffering or being insufferable is necessary to create great writing.

this game has me bringing in the 3ds to the office just for the sweet play coins from the 10min walk in from my parking. me = gamified. what the hell is even happening edit: also, the part of downtown vancouver where my office is, is apparently pants for streetpassing.

but but but it totally redeems itself with silly stuff like "as the mayor, welcome to my pockets" I'm not even kidding.

Idle Thumbs 110: The Thing That You Needed To Say
juv3nal replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
BEST (in seriousness, not for the GB guys who had stuff stolen, but still funny) -
god I am contemplating getting a 3ds just because all my internet friends seem to be playing this. that seems an awful lot of clams to drop on one game though.

Yeah, I didn't go there because it seems like xbox live might be following suit in offering free games so they're (maybe?) even on that front. MS was saying stuff about giving games with xbox live now, and there was some speculation that they would/wouldn't continue it on the new console, but I don't think anyone official has said for certain.
