  1. Neptune's Bountiful Pride 4

Yeah I had things under control for awhile playing purple, red and green off of each other, my biggest mistake was not attacking Sylvester and instead going after an potential ally like red. Also, was too busy with life to respond quick enough when I was attacked, but still doesn't excuse some of my frustrated comments, lol. Ah well, interesting game; just once though it'd be cool to see a game all the way through with out leavers(I was technically one of them this time, so not blaming anyone)
  2. Neptune's Bountiful Pride 4

I honestly don't have a clue who anyone is, I thought I had a few figured out, but couldn't make a guess. I will say this though, my attitude was pretty shit near the end in a very unfriendly gamer way, life sort of got int he way and stress kind of hit me pretty hard, but I still logged on from time to time just to be an ass.
  3. Monitor advice

I got back to Vancouver to dig my two monitors out of storage, no hdmi on either of them(bleh) So in the same boat Patters. I have a samsung right now and I'm really unimpressed with the colour on it. Its sharp, bright, and looks nice. But whenever I go to do anything in photoshop or the like I really see where it fails. That might not go for all samsung monitors, but theres something off about the colour and contrast ration no matter how much I adjust it. I really like Dell monitors but the goods ones are like $600+
  4. Yeah, I was expecting it to be a Wizard fest, but I think there was a silent agreement in the crowd we wouldn't be complete nobs. Though I will say, I think as a whole the crowd felt a little apprehensive to get completely into it... or at least thats what it felt like to me. On a side note, I know I've seen pictures of the guys and stuff, but after following Chris and Nick from the shack casts to here, it's REALLY weird to see those voices come out of those heads. It felt like a really weird ventriloquist act because I'm so used to those voices and having a vague image of who it is coming from, seeing it in person just felt off, lol.
  5. Idle Thumbs PAX meetup '10

That reminds me, on the way back waiting at the border some dude had the license plate "Far Cry" which was pretty hilarious. Too bad the iphone camera sucks so much.
  6. Bastion

Alright, after my day at PAX I can say I didn't see this, however what I did see looked* awesome and in the similar style we were discussing here, it was both Wakfu and whatever other game Ankama Games had on display(Dofus?) Similar style going, just one was executed so much nicer. Though I will say the Zelda/Diablo homage gameplay sounds more interesting. *visually, the animation and game play was pretty meh
  7. Idle Thumbs PAX meetup '10

There was a ton of people recording and even someone with a pretty professional looking video camera and a tripod, so we'll probably see some stuff pop up eventually. Thanks to the staff for doing that, it was really neat. I brought a non-fan(just hasn't listened to the cast) with me and a lot of the in jokes flew over his head, but he enjoyed it. I guess there wasn't a lot of in depth discussion and was more a celebrity appearance anyway. But it was cool, didn't get to meet anyone since I was only down for the day, but it was a pretty nice send off, it'd be cool to have this as a yearly event; if you guys ever need any help to setup or plan something a little more organized/elaborate I'd love to lend a hand. The informality of this one was great, but I think with some help you guys could have a really slick presentation... at least get a light in the corner where Chris sings. Also, what was it that Chris mentioned is somewhat the core philosophy of the Idle Thumbs? Something about the highs and lows of quality in gaming? I'm still trying to distill the philosophy through the casts as I think it's a little more elaborate then that, but how Chris worded it kind of worked overall as well. Anyway, thanks for the awesome panel, it was a lot of fun!
  8. Bastion

Alright, fair enough, could be neat, not sure. @patters: yep, that's what I was talking about.
  9. Bastion

Sorry, I was speaking of BoF3-4's concept art, not the actual executed game graphics.
  10. Bastion

Looks a bit budgety. Not digging the designs. Kinda interesting, I guess. Anyone remember Breath of Fire 3-4, damn that was some slick artwork/designs, why don't people just make a game that looks like that stuff now?
  11. edit: Actually this was just kind of retreading other jokes and kind of mean. I'd be interested to see what Gaynor design is like, but will need to be in a game I'd be more interested in playing. Not to say Bioshock isn't, just that I get very bored in singleplayer FPS lately. So it's not you, it's me.
  12. New Oddworld Games On The Way

I remember loving everything about Strangers wrath except the gameplay. The movement and sound was neat, world was cool, the 3rd/1st person thing didn't win me over. Will check out the ps3 one probably.
  13. Life

BANK LOAN APPROVED 50% GOV STUDENT LOAN DEPOSITED 60% OF MY STUFF RECOVERED (Kind of wet and/or smelly, TV and artwork Kaput) $500 TAX REBATE AFTER I RE-DID MY TAXES MOVERS TRYING TO GET ME TO PAY THEM $700 FOR THERE "SERVICES" NEVER SEEING INSURANCE MONEY FOR MY TV AND ART TOO BUSY IN THE LAST TWO DAYS TO WIN NEPTUNES PRIDE Overall, I'm *no longer ready to hang myself and feeling good. WOOOO! edit: typo, also not a spam bot, but it looks like that kind of message. lol
  14. WTF is Telltale's new game?

Yeah, I'm sure it will be neat whatever it is, but sort of feel bad when it isn't a full on character interaction thing between all of them. That teaser is either really awesome or very horrible, lol.
  15. Idle Thumbs PAX meetup '10

The thumbs will most likely host something but not tell anyone about until ten minutes before it happens. I'm only there on Sunday, but if anyone would like to do a pre-panel or post-panel boozing, I'd be up for that.
  16. Life

Thanks man, but don't worry about it, jsut a form of therepy for me so I don't hang myself, aside from the very few personal items and just junk I liked(the games) it wasn't a huge loss. If I ever see my insurance money it will at least cover the cost to replace a few of the games(I mean really, I only play mass effect and gta more then once) and purchase a new collection. Glad I'm mainly a pc gamer and keep my games through steam though, so at least when I get a working computer(on grandmas) again soon, I wont be "alone" Anyway, side note, please go watch Big Trouble in Little China; I mean I saw it when I was older and really missed the big fascination with it everyone else had, but it was actually pretty awesome if your a big Carpenter fan.(I am, he was king of the 80s)
  17. I always thought it would be the other way around, like a character from Mad Max.
  18. Life

Oh and to make this a little more linked to Idle Thumbs... ALL my video games are gone that don't exist on steam. R.I.P In memory of the important ones and maybe not so important... Super Nintendo from when I was a kid Super Mario World SimCity Links Awakening NES (my originals were lost long ago) Super Mario Bros. 3 PC: Windows XP Windows 7 ( I wonder if I still have the serial for this) Xbox 360 (you were about to die anyway, but at least I'd have the HD) (Good bye Murdoc Shepherd, you're adventures ended before truly saving the Galaxy) Gears of War Gears of War special edition (unopened) GTA 4 Bully Mass Effect Mass Effect 2 Fight Night Round 4 Fable Fable 2 PS3 (The console survives alone with Red Dead, since I put this in my suitcase) Brutal Legend Demon Souls Playstation 2 (or the gta machine, as I liked to call it) FF7 Shadow of the Colossus GTA Vice City GTA San Andreas GTA 3 GTA Liberty City memory card GameCube Windwaker Memory card (I was going to finish windwaker one day, honest!) Notable Mentions of blurays and dvds, even though hundreds are now lost: The Wire complete series Generation Kill ( I hardly knew ye!) Apocalypse Now and of course the limited edition, framed art (you all were going to be worth money one day!) Soto Hewlett Malin
  19. Earthworm Jim Ear Split

Cool link, gerbil. From the demo I was pretty disappointed with the game overall, I don't think the controls and humor really hold up for me now. It sounded awful and did look like cheap art. It really needed a Bionic Commando quality redux I think to iron out some of the really dumb stuff, have solid art, and slicker controls for me to purchase it. Seemed like a quick cash in. (also, yes, gameloft is Ubisofts shitty game division, but it's in a seperate building. Earlier in the year there was a proclamation in Montreal that they would only handle the larger games and eventually all the little titles will be going to gameloft)
  20. Life

Life keeps on getting better... No call on friday about my burnt or wet stuff. Phone today, told me to call insurance company. I call insurance company, no answer, get a call back to phone restoration company. Call restoration company, 2 people later, they cant find my name on the list of stuff recovered. Phone moving company: "oh, sorry about that your stuff was a total loss" "what about insurance?" "insurance company isn't covering this, in fact we're talking with a lawyer right now" "I didnt get insurance with the insurance company, I got it through you, so this is your loss, not mine" "Whos your contract with?" "You?" "No, no, that's Montreal, you'll have to take it up with them"(I keep getting this run around) So anyway, have to phone Montreal tomorrow, at this point total loss, not seeing or getting a fuckin thing. On a totally unrelated matter; does anyone know where to buy an illegal fire arm in Seattle?
  21. Imperial 2030 I still really want to play this but can't seem to get anyone to play it (making it not worth to buy) Is anyone going to PAX that owns this and would be willing to set up a Thumbs beginner game? Or be interested in participating?
  22. Oh whatever, then I'm thinking of Duncan so I'm awful. Thanks eggers.
  23. Thanks for the casts, again. And wow, Spaff is going to be there?! I liked him in the GDC stuff. Can't wait!
  24. Shank! It's stabby time!

    How much is 1200 msp?
  25. Neptune's Bountiful Pride 4

Really off topic, but does anyone know anyone at Ironhelmet? I think they should let a small group of us into the Blight of the Immortals beta. Just a thought.
