Glad to hear that Brannigan as I was the same way. It pained me to hear people say how awesome the Witcher was, but I just couldnt get over the combat. So now that Witcher 2 looks awesome, I just hope I find it fun too.

EIGHT OUT OF TEN? F@#$ that, no buy.

Tomorrow... waiting... hope it can help with my disspointing brink purchase, lol.

This was a premise of a comic book, just without the super powers, and while the premise was awesome, the comic was not. : ( The game looks more interesting, but would have instantly sold me if it had a bit more art direction. Ill give the demo a shot when I get home.

Played some more on the weekend... I think if I had a group like I did back in the L4D1 days this would be a lot more interesting, but right now it feels way too straight forward of a shooter and I've only been on disorganized team fighting another disorganized team, so it feels very much like basic death match with some goals. Furthering that, all the goes seem to just be "go here, hit the a key for x amount of time" So...... yeah... Backstory is cool, Art is consistantly great, presentation is great; just ghe game seems to be pretty meh.

So is this actually happening and do you have enough players? If it is and you don't, I'd like to join. Was interested in this a year ago or so, met up with some random people(2 others) and tried it... it was awkward, really awkward, but I like watching the game, so under the right circumstances I should like playing it right?! Anyway, let me know, I have an abundance of time this summer.

Had to try this last night and seemed alright. The presentation is slick, the art is very consistent and well done. Gameplay feels alright, but nothing to sing home about right now; I need to get into more, but it seemed pretty standard and not very involved just yet. The miss opportunity is this really neat fiction that is well presented, but is basically a multiplayer only game when all of the above could have been utilized for a really cool half-life style singleplayer-coop. I'll play more before I say yay or nay.

Tribes was so a head of its time it never took off... I think. Anyway, if they can make it as awesome as I remember it being(it was awesome, but go back now and the movement is terrible) then I am in. I loved being in a lone little tower setting up force fields wondering if anyone would ever come. Or infliltrating enemies base witha cloak and taking out their power systems. Or guarding the flag as a heavy firing mortars as someone spots for me... so awesome

Could be interesting, I always liked the first one the most, but they've always been fun games regardless. I'd almost say they are better off making the game, but just doing a new story/world/or something.

MISSING One sad little hovel somewhere to the north west of Anvi Expiditionary Mining Corp. *** So I set out on my own, with some help I learned the /set home command and have established a second hovel... somewhere, roughly north west of Anvi Expidtionary Mining Corp, but not in the same place of the first hovel. Not much to see but I hope the best. PS: Anvi, I stole some cake for the journey. -
Why hello there game of my dreams.... Time is limited, but certainly reading up on it, sounds awesome! edit: Can we start a thumbs race and conquer your civilization? hehehe. Nah I'll just join your empire, but will try one out myself for the sake of it one day. Pretty much linked this to everyone I know and its not even done downloading... better be as fun as it sounds, hehe. I get so jazzed over this kind of thing. edit2: So far it feels like Im stuck in the ground or something. Not too sure about this, will read more.

Haven't been able to get deep into this (school) and it's my second Total War games since the first Shogun... it's a lot more complicated, hehe. Still, it feels like it's retained it's feel and everything, I just feel a bit lost in a lot of it right now and seems a lot more difficult. The Castle assaults are appreciated and super cool, it reminds me of this old flash game where four or eight players get a castle and you have to assault it, even using ninjas to open the gate and stuff is similar.

Yeah I want a minorly more accessible game of Demon Souls, not the other way around. It was great, but I have no patience for redoing things a million times to get nowhere. Movement, feel, visually, the mood, everything about it was awesome.

Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

Didn't mean for my comments to be so negative, because minecraft is neat and cool, but apart of me wants it to be dwarf fortress since it's mildly similar. Just interesting that this took off and DF didn't, probably do to it being easier to understand and 3d. And really, minecraft could eventually get there, as long as I can administer a little civilization brewing booze, I'd be content, hehe. -

Figured I would check this out, still feels sorely inadequate to Dwarf Fortress, but we'll see. Is there any reason my noob butt can't connect to the server? -
The one environment looks neat, reminds me of cyrsis a bit in the rendering style, but the gameplay looks like any other deathmatch. Making cool art is one thing, but theres no real hook to this so far.

I'm down, loved Shogun 1, can't wait for 2! Though I've always stuck with Mori.

GDC 2011: The Idle Thumbs Conf Grenade: Games Kasavin

I remember seeing an early build of epic mickey and who knew all this time it was all because of Vanaman... so neat. I can only hope in 5 years i see the project I was working on that was shelved make its way into a weird existence, hehehehe. -
Just started reading Out of the Silent Planet, which is unusual for me, but so far it's awesome. It's really an awesome fantasy scifi theme that I pretty much forgot about since I was a kid.

Yeah, I get what you mean, but I think as far as dialog goes, no other company does it any better so to say it could be better should be applied to every other company first, hehe.

I like Risk, but after playing it on my iphone its sorely lacking the strategy... then again there's is a huge issue on the iphone that creates a win button. So...I'll say Id probably be in if we can get a game going

[quote name=ThunderPeel2001;166599 Rockstar: Get a decent screenwriter to come in and do a great job' date=' instead of giving it all to Dan Houser and that awful DJ.[/quote] Huh? GTA has some of the best, natural flowing dialog in games... actually probably THE best. Its the stories that suck and a lot of that may be due to the size/length of their games... what they need is a novelist.

I guess I was really drawn to the american dream, immigrant aspect of Nicos character; rather than the redemption part of it. Personally thought it was that aspect alone that rose GTA 4 above the previous ones, so that might be what I am so fixated on.

Im really hoping they just continue Niko's story since he was such a strong character. Im curious as to what studio is making it since I thought leads was working on agent and probably too wrapped up in that to do an actual gta.
