Torchlight II Diablo 3 needs to hurry up and come out so I can play that in its place.

Ohhhhh right, I forgot Jimmy up there talking for three hours. Yeah, I wonder, we keep hearing about new MS hardware, but nothing concrete, so maybe next year there will be an announcement?
-
Kickstarter; seems neat, hope it produces some neat stuff. Game; looks rad.

I see where your coming from Thunderpeel, but I think some of the arguements of "thats not real" comes from your desire of wanting a "real" police game(I do too!) From what I've played so far LA Noire wasn't trying to be that, so far it has more in common with Dragnet(TV, not movie) and LA Confidential, it's not trying to recreate being a police detective in the 1940s.

Seems like year after year everyones conference becomes this weird, poorly acted vaudeville act, which usually results in massive, embaressing moments. It's really become more about watching the train wreck rather then the spectacle. The first year Ubisoft used Joel Hale it was actually kind of funny in a really strange way, they had the exciting titles to offset the weirdness, but last year it just seemed very boring. I think theres going to be a lot of interestin announcements this year as long as they can keep it to themselves by the time they want to announce it, but I we'll probably know everything about everything by monday.

I know it was annoying, but the other quick improvement would make a very boring, empty world. They did what they had to, their GDC talks are online somewhere, I remember listening to them; very interesting if your into technology and design of the game.

Alright, I have the first build for my defender, will see how it goes... Wallace Plankhail, level 1 Half-Goblin (No orcs in Infinite Isles, so we're calling it a goblin) Fighter Build: Battlerager Fighter Fighter Talents: Battlerager Vigor FINAL ABILITY SCORES Str 17, Con 15, Dex 16, Int 11, Wis 10, Cha 10. STARTING ABILITY SCORES Str 15, Con 15, Dex 14, Int 11, Wis 10, Cha 10. AC: 18 Fort: 15 Reflex: 14 Will: 10 HP: 30 Surges: 12 Surge Value: 7 TRAINED SKILLS Intimidate +7, Endurance +9, Athletics +8 UNTRAINED SKILLS Acrobatics +3, Arcana, Bluff, Diplomacy, Dungeoneering, Heal, History, Insight, Nature, Perception, Religion, Stealth +3, Streetwise, Thievery +3 FEATS Level 1: Thirst for Battle POWERS Fighter at-will 1: Cleave Fighter at-will 1: Brash Strike Fighter encounter 1: Covering Attack Fighter daily 1: Flanking Assault ITEMS Scale Armor, Adventurer's Kit, Battleaxe, Light Shield Backstory: A hooligan, scoundrel, and a cheat; but he all around means well. W. Plankhail is a product of his environment, an inhospitable life on a slave ship in the remotes isles of North Rime. He's killed for money, booze, women, food, a game of chance, some more women, glory, and every other reason that would suddenly suite him and his desires. Adventuring fulfills his his current needs and he knows a good thing when it's been given to him, so he won't be rocking the boat; a lesson he learned the hard way...

Looks interesting, I'd be up to try it. Free doesn't hurt either.

From the last I heard, there was a lot of talk to split the series. The conviction team is making another conviction splinter cell in Toronto right now, but I think ubi montreal is going to eventually do a classic splinter cell game. I like idea of splitting the series to get more variety and two different, awesome games.

Hehehe, don't take it the wrong way, it's a good game, with a little bit of work it'd be a great game and I the one thing that now bothers me is at it's foundational level it is a game and gets gamey every so often. I don't know why I can accept that in classic lucas art adventures but then lament about it in LA Noire... doesn't seem fair, but all the same, I think my above issue still stands strong.

Fortress of Solitude? hehe Ive been playing a little bit of it, making little hovels in my journeys but haven't really taken on anything big, I'd like to a giant...something, but it's so hard to plan out and get the scope required when you have to work so close to something, then walk all the way out to see it at a distance. Much more respect to anyone who has made one in minecraft, and a lot more respect to ancient civilizations that actually accomplished this in real life.

How is the singleplayer on this? I realize its intended mp, but it seems like one of those games I'd really enjoy if I was any good at, but would probably get plowed online and never touch it again, hehe.

MEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Just finished homicide...

Ya, I'll just wait and see if I can wedge a dragonborn in there. I figured it might be neat if dragons and dragon born on infinite isle were more a kin to alligators and crocodiles; taking more to the water then the air, if that isn't too far fetched? Also, I'd love to help out with any illustration since it'd be cool practice
-
Maybe a mix? Or we should wait to see what the characters are? Going to create the much needed tank and I hate to do something stereotypical, but would anyone have any opposition to a dragonborn? It's really all dependent on why the characters are all together, so I can take or leave it, but though it would be interesting to work with.

sweet, a new live map, I see where I am now! I was trying to figure it out on the old map, had no clue. -
It's almost like game developers(publishers) forgot what made those classic games great, a game design built off systems that allowed player input to create something wonderful, but rather chose to ditch that and used the super awesome fiction from the ip and just develop whatever game around that. (that was sarcasm about the super awesome fiction, because it seemed more like back in those days game came first, whatever backstory/narrative second)

Is this dead? I was hoping it wouldnt be, also to get in on it, hehe. Account up and running, just waiting to hear the news, not like there isn't a ton of games out right now though...but Im excited.

Thanks juv.... I thought that's whats going on so far...

damn I knew this was fake

I just cant read people, I was doing alright but as the game goes on, I'm just not cluing into the system here. As soon as I get the right answers I figure everyone would display the same actions, but they don't... it's actualyl really difficult for me; is anyone else having this problem? Im curious to know what the different outcomes are, but so far it feels like the game is just pushing me through regardless of what a bad detective I am. I have a bunch of evidence usually but it doesn't really amount to much, so questioning is the only way and I'm doing horrible on that, but the game finds a way for me to get my man... Also, big picture thing, I've started to noticed certain details about each case but they haven't mentioned them, is it nothing or will that be the big shocker moment near the end? If it is, that will kinda suck.

Finally got my hands on this and yeah it's pretty much what people were saying here and I really enjoy it. I took labotomy's advice on driving and enjoying it a lot more than crashing into people all the time. The city is pretty awesome to see though, so I'm sure by skipping it that I'm missing the atmosphere; which the whole game has a good vibe to it. The game does scream a problematic development though, it seems pretty clear that they originally started with different intentions than what they ended up with. The vibe isn't super thick, cheesy noire; which could have been cool, but the stiff dialog is right out of dragnet or the old movies which is awesome and is executed really well most of the time. I can say Im disappointed it's not more fluid, where the open world was a city I get to explore and I have several cases on the go at once, etc... But as far the game stands as a mission to mission "mystery puzzle" it delivers and I am really enjoying it. Shame they went through all that trouble making a gigantic open world when it wasn't used.

Replace music with anything from the doors and I'm in, hehe. -
If they want to throw an offline mp mode in sure ok; but going to agree with Jon here. I was maybe a bit ignorant, but I remember following the game when it was announced and once of the biggest draws was them touting singleplayer and how unique it was that it was like seamlessly playing sp and mp... so far I haven't seen it and the objectives seem pretty much all the same.
