Hard to say from trailers, but it basically looks like Populous 3.. which wasnt the worst Populous, but wasn't the best. I like the idea of having less direct control over followers, but ah well, still looks cool. The tech they have going is awesome.

I was never a bad company fan, the blowing apart buildings thing was neat, but everything else about it felt off compared to 1942/battlefield 2. This sort of looks like Bad Company 3 to me rather then Battlefield 3... so waiting very cautiously.

I remember Oblivion, I was so excited to tell my friends the next day that some dude visited me in my sleep and I now an assassin doing all this cool shit. The next day at work, all three of us had the same story to share...

Yeah the last patch has seemed to have killed this game, the lag is just terrible making it pretty unplayable. So holding off until they fix it, hehe. Fun as hell to pick up and build stuff or kill people in though.

yeah it still feels like the majority of developers finally have this generation figured out and we still need to reap the benefits. However, this isn't going to be like the last generation gap where artists and programmers have to re-learn everything because there was such a significant change in technology, it'll be an iteration on what we already know, so we'll be able to make better looking things and more of. In terms of texture size, lighting/rendering enhancements it'll be nice to be using something that feels a little more up to date and will look a lot better.

Yeah, hard to imagine, but it's been nearly 6 years since the 360 was released.

Sony is pushing for the PS4 to be 2013 from what I overheard from the execs that talked with them at E3.

Sweet, I'll add my stuff tonight. Getting excited

Just going to duck and cover, but "scarcely anything similar about Wind Waker and Twilight Princess," Eh, really? I mean conceptually yes, but zelda is a pretty formulaic game with its design, pacing, and mechanics at this point. Anyway, besides that, I just realized that by making another platform that is easy for developers to port to just makes developing games that much more expensive and a big cluster fuck; damn you Nintendo for wanting to enter a competative space again! So now when Im making a game, I need an xbox kit, a ps3 kit and a wiiu kit, I have to make sure my textures aren't flickering or some shit on all three of these, then some poor ass developer has to see how three different motion controls or whatever console specific gimmick mechanic works on each system. What a nightmare, bad enough we had two to deal with. Hey Sega, maybe you want in on this? Dreamcastoo? Come on! I'm being absurd of course, but it is kind of a pain in the butt.

Towers were built, gold was being mined, and a game of 7 vs 7 was on. Both sides equally matched I spent enough time in the mines and was soon knighted(I chose the knight character). I raced across the land until I reached the chasm, my peasant was kind enough to build a ladder bridge over and we arrived at our first obstacle, a tower with doors and a single archer. Arrows rained down on my shield as between volleys I struck the door until it crumbled. I climbed my way to the top and slew the archer, it was time to continue my quest. The second tower wasn't finished, there were no doors and close to the enemies camp. Two knights however blocked my path, I struck the first with my sword slaying him instantly. I looted his corpse finding three explosive bombs. I chucked one at the second knight, with my shield forward I pushed him into the explosion and looted him to find more explosives! I laughed my way past their camp to their keep where the gold is kept and threw everything at the door, mangling the path and giving me a clear view of the vault. I took a sack of gold and proceeded out only to find the same two knights re spawned close by. Their shields forward I could not pass... except taking the ladder up to the top of the keep and leaping off passed them. I ran forward hoping to clear enough distance between the enemy and myself when I met reinforcements, a friendly knight and peasant! I was almost home free! But this was no ordinary knight I was to meet, it was the certain kind of naive you find in all games. He saw the enemy chasing me and certainly pissed himself at the sight, so he threw up his shield to save himself, blocking my path to safety. I jumped and jumped, there was no time for words, I had to make it clear I needed by post haste, I tried to squeeze myself over this fool, but it was not to happen, the enemy legion caught up and slew me where I stood, right in front of the friendly naive that blocked my path. In my last moments of re spawn I saw him take the bag for himself and run away making his way to our treasury and taking the glory for himself. So that's KAG.

Did they ever say what the U stands for?

Maybe Im getting DnD and Elder Scrolls mixed up too. Sounds like a pretty big possibility.

Shit I thought this thing started at noon? Why didnt I look for myself, I knew they were always early on the westcoast! lol.

That's weird, the link I found last night said one, dragonborn. Anyway, that's good news now!
-
edit: used the internet to answer my own question. I guess that explains why the character looks good in this one, you get a choice between male and female with no options on class or race.
-
Also I dont think 3DS should count as 3D, because that'll end up being a short day.
-
link? edit: I forgot that "tracking it down" means google it. http://www.gameshot.org/?id=5435 edit 2: Wow ok, yeah... I hope the new version is more fluid, its surprising to see how incompetent I am when I need to aim backwards to move forwards... feels weird.

Xbox, Bing Google *** I liked ME 2, but the series kind of faded for me there, 3 looks pretty much like the game I play and lose all interest in. I miss ME1. edit: Oh hey I forgot something, it's quite plausible that at the Ubisoft press conference there will be something in the way of Farcry 3, which will likely make Remo cry a bit, but not in the good way.
-
So one press conference, 2 major ones to go... so far I'm thinking I'll be spending a lot of time with my PC for the next few years at least.

Not exactly what you guys where talking about, but this might be why, they based it off of aerial photos: http://www.polycount.com/2011/05/26/l-a-noire-reference-photography-jackpot/

I dunno, hardware or not, it really comes down to who their target market is; if it's going to be for children and my grandpa I doubt I'll buy it, despite their being a few awesome games for me. I don't see why they would try to go back to gaming or hardcore at this point, they made a killing with the market they have, I imagine they'll just continue the new Nintendo image.
-
I really hope Sony ends up making a bunch of money on that little aspect, that'll be fun to watch, hehe.

I'm sure bethseda will use it soon. But really guys? I had the opposite reaction to the Rage trailer, I even commented on how it looked great 3 years ago but pretty average today. Visually it's alright, I like the atmosphere of the non combat zones, but really blurry textures here and there and teh animation is just killing it; talking puppets are so blah right now after LA noire, TF2, etc.. First few seconds of gameplay was literally a demo when they were showing off Bioshock 1, it just seemed really blah. I don't want bag it too hard, I was in an inch away from working on it and it looks cool, but the gameplay/animation was really disapointing to me.
-
*Strained face* that looked interesting... Seriously though, all relation to xcom aside, I really liked the first trailer, I love the premise, I love the era, and the gameplay looked really interesting. That trailer above kind of just, sort of didn't highlight any of that and seemed to show the most generic shooty bits ever and summer blockbuster music... so yeah. It's a bad trailer and doesn't kill the hope it'll be a cool game, but it's looking kind of iffy right now to me.

So this game is pretty much awesome. It reminds me when I was a kid and my friends and I would draw random terrain on a the side and start building bases in it, like little rooms and such. The competive angle is awesome, its one game where its more fun to play a peasant then a fighter. We're building bases, mining gold, and under mining the enemies fortress, so cool!
