Yeah Deus Ex feels like an older game, nothing is blowing my mind, its just fun... though Im getting a tired of it quicker. I always wanted to play AP, but never got it running on my machine, I just wanted to see the story/character design playout after Remo talked about it on the castro situation. Maybe one day I'll try to get it to work again and see for myself.

I'd agree with that statement for the first boss, Sno. But by the second one I was more then equipped to deal with pretty much anything(middle roaded my character after that first one) and it still was the most frustrating pile of shit I ever played until I just threw a bunch of shit at it... which is how the first one ended too; so that says more than enough about the design of these things.
-
Wait... what? They went out of their way to contract someone else to put in the second shittiest part(animation being the first) of their game? Wow, they probably paid a lot of money for that. best quote: "I wouldn't call a boss smart, I'd call them challenging"
-
Yeah I got it way later, and I guess I wasn't paying attention that much or just hit a string of them, which makes sense because they were main quest type situations, but even the last couple side quests I did had them, so I guess I figured it was in all of them.
-
I haven't been paying attention, but yeah its been in all the conversations I can think of and should just be active automatically.

I bought all that stuff at once, so not sure if there are different levels, but for me there was a personality type hud on the upper left that would say their personality, then the options that were given would say which option a certain personality would prefer(though I wish it did this once and you had to remember because they may as well did away with telling me anything and just highlight the right option, which would have been just as stupid but saved me time) Also a prompt will pop up at some point to hit space bar to gas them so they do whatever you want. I think the whole manipulate a conversation augmentation is probably the best argument those activists have, that shit would be dangerous.

May not meet your standards, but I'm in. I love ironhelm games, especially if they involve aliens. I liked the idea of Blight, but never really got into it like I did Neptune. Hoping this is the bridge or something completely new and awesome.

What's some defining characteristics that you look for in game worlds to have these help up so high? Just curious, because we've seen some pretty amazing gameworlds in the last several years, so just curious what your criteria is.

Second boss and HO-LY shit do I hate these boss battles.

Weird, I just went through Giant Bombs persona 4 play through. I am not an anime fan, but have to say with all the weird stuff it defiantly got my attention and admiration in the same way Deadly Premonition did. I think without all the odd gamey stuff and hilarious observations of giant bomb, I'm not sure if I could do an anime. Though I am curious as to how they handle the main character since he was a null object in the game. How will he act, what are the relationships like and why am I wondering about this crap? I dunno, but I may check it out, lol.

Yeah, Normally Id go for PC, but since I've apparently spent like 20 hours on one with Deus Ex, I'll move my lazy butt to the couch for an hour or two.
-
Oh I was waiting for PC, but knowing its out for console now, I'll bite... assuming its the same price as PC.
-
Yeah Im hoping the depth is surprising as you go along, but for $9, I think the art design and UI sells it to me alone. This has been in development for what seems like forever, so it might be deeper than what Giant Bomb was showing off, but I'm excited to see that it lives up to the premise. I can't believe this was a game the Thumbs discussed at one point, that's why it feels like it's been so long.

Yeah I can see not investing in everything, its just something I'd want, hehe. Just curious and dont really care about spoilers or whatever, but not like i need to know the details, how many "hubs" are there after china? People keep talking about boss fights, but I've only had one, but maybe there are only 2? Just before I left detroit... I dunno, it just feels like there is a lot more left, but I've been playing for 11 hours and my guy has a ton of augs, yet it still feels early in the game. Maybe it's just the case of the story pace not syncing up with the gameplay's pacing.
-
I'm kind of curious as to where this goes, I haven't finished the second city hub but I already have a ton of augs. Depending on what the next area is like, I'll probably have nearly all of them by the end of that one, unless thats just the end of the game, but the story pacing doesn't feel like it. Maybe its because I'm not on high difficulty? I dunno. I kind of just want use a trainer or whatever and get everything now, I mean I need more stealth, but I need to hack, but then when I get into a fire fight I'm totally useless as well... all of this is a fair design, but it seems hard to be a stealth hacker when both those systems are really competing against each other for points. That parachute thing was the best thing I invested in though, man is it not only fun, but a time saver moving around china.

edit: responded to a really old message, no idea how that happened.

Season 2 still stands out from the rest, not because it was particularly better then the rest, but for other reasons I'm sure you'll find out, but I really enjoyed the character arcs the most from it. I think after that the show becomes more allegorical and just reaches some really amazing heights. I think I've watched the series at least 3 times now and its something I'm always itching to watch again.

For having some sweet robot arms, I wish I was able to punch more things, like anything. Lifting is cool, punching through certain walls is nice, but I want to just punch guys across a room and things. Really enjoying the game so far, the world fiction seems to have grown on me over and I got over the hokey-ness of it, but it is one of those games I wished was a little more open world or immersive like a bioware title... then again I can say that about any game.
-
So where is the FOV option? I cant find it anywhere. edit: found it, yay!
-
Boss Fights? Ok you guys are way farther than me, hehe. Right now I, stuck in a facility with no ammo, hacking skill is too low, but I have a box full of energy bars, so maybe I can just wait these guys out until they leave.
-
I really like the look of this game, well done artists and directors. Facial animation could be better that or La Noire ruined everything.
-
Hey Brannigan, what "lvl" were you like any special augments and weapons? I went on this mission just thinking I was taking on a gang, then I get wrapped up in the whole mess of stuff and I'm completely under supplied, so I just have to sneak around things and there is no way I'd be able to take on a mech at this point, a few guys usually just pop me within seconds.

I'm sure 1.19 million is just enough to make a little model of it

That's sad to hear, Im just playing that style anyway so I didn't notice, I figured there were little bonuses for just rampaging through. I don't normally play stealth games so finding this pretty challenging, there is no way that I can see that I can just run in and gun, maybe with some more augments, but so far there is no way to get around this without stealth. *** I'm curious to see if I broke the game down the road. I was just screwing around so I went to Jensens apartment for the first time and the Janitor said something about fixing up my place, I get inside and its a filthy hole. So I went back out and shot him... unfortunately everyone in the building heard me, so I shot them too. The next day(real life) I just quick loaded and didn't realize until about 3 hours afterwards it started me on my shooting spree alternative. No one has said anything, so I guess I'll continue on with the game as a secret murderer, I just hope no one comes to visit... I guess I should just stash the bodies somewhere just in case... I wonder if I can just start secretly murdering more people, tranquillizing them and then silently killing them and hiding their body in a vent.... Sadly I think my game has turned for the worse and I have a little side project going on...
