  1. Neptune's Bountiful Pride 6!

Kind of forgot we had a list going, was trying to get a full game, but maybe we should just hit the start button?
  2. Starbreeze's Syndicate

Not like it looks bad, though we just played that game and it was called Deus Ex, but yeah, aside from established brand vs new brand in the market, why even bother call it the Syndicate... developers know there used to be more game types than fps and tps, right? Also, I really hate how that character looks, not sure why that would stick out since you dont see him much.
  3. Psychonauts on Steam

I agree, I loved the settings, love the potential for game-play, loved the characters. In my fan-addled mind, I always hoped Psychonaughts 2 hub game-play would be their version of Bully where Raz was going to to a Psycho private school and having to do all the fun things that would involve, like attending class on time. I'd also give up almost anything to work on that as well; just love the game too much. Not sure if I am ready for another playthrough though.
  4. Yeahhh.... not to chime in with nothing but nay saying, but that quicklook pretty much covered that this isn't the battlefield for me. I'll just keep hoping they eventually re-release 1942 for PC.
  5. Psychonauts on Steam

Oh sweet, unfortunately I dont pay attention to achievements. Curious what the graphics are and wonder if they did anything with meat circus...
  6. Psychonauts on Steam

Huh, what update, whats going on? Wasn't there already a 360 version? Im sure I played it on the 360? confused.
  7. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I just mean in terms of mood and feeling, not the actual gameplay
  8. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I started watching this at noon and will finish off later... looks cool and improved from Demon Souls... I'm scared though. I played Demon Souls, that is to say, I tried Demon Souls. I love everything about it except the difficulty/redundancy of making me replay the same shit over again. I never, ever got to the "good part" of the game, but, boy, that mood, that combat, it's the closet thing to a modern Diablo I could think of and for that I just love the hell out of it. One day I hope for a wussy North American version, but I am willing to give it another shot with Dark Souls.
  9. I thought BC felt more like COD then Battlefield, so I dont know what to make of this. I just have a feeling that I'm better off staying away from this, even if I love old battlefields. The time of mp fps for me might just be over now. I liked the unlocks of Battlefield 2 because they were just extras, I found the unlocks of bad company to be pretty much necessary where I often wondered why I just wasn't playing an rpg... I dunno, just not down with this shit and the whole singleplayer "experience" of B3 has me super skeptical it resembles the old battlefields.
  10. Does it feel like bad company or does it feel like a pc battlefield game? That's my biggest concern, I liked the features of bad company, but couldn't stand playing the game(I played the pc version) because it just felt swimmy and like I should be using a controller.
  11. Wizaaaaaards!!

I'm more curious if the Idle Thumbs wizard joke has hit mainstream so much that it IS Daffy Duck riding on their coat tales.
  12. Diablo III

I dont want to know a lot, didn't watch the video, but reading this just makes me sad... I'm going to stop reading and just hold me tears for when I play it.
  13. Wizaaaaaards!!

    I just don't know anymore... http://videosift.com/video/Daffy-Duck-is-a-Lazy-Metal-Wizard
  14. Jupiter's Folly

Yeah, I dont know how I feel about Jupiters Folly. I really enjoyed Neptunes Pride in the beginning, but it's just not something that I would regularly play. Jupiter's Folly felt more like a coop game than pitting us against each other. Granted, if Gwar and I didn't make peace it may have had a more war element to it, but even then, I think the bugs were a bigger threat and we would have eventually either died or made peace. I never even met another player on the board because travelling was too dangerous. The game just felt a bit flat, no tension, no escalation, and no real progression. I really liked the scope Neptune's gave players where you start off very tiny and slow, but by the end of it your juggling multiple fronts, with large numbers, at longer distances. I guess it really comes down to that Jupiter feels more PVE(much like Blight) and Neptune was PVP. Also, I think there were some minor aesthetic reasons why I enjoy Neptune more. I like the Ironhelms creative side, but after Neptune's their design choices are interesting/good and I want to like playing these more than I actually do. edit: And that's a good point Gwar, I would like to see a professional match of this played, it might give some insight if it can be played differently and would be pretty aspirational. I'd just like to know if there isn't much to the game or I just dont know how to play.
  15. General Video Game Deals Thread

Does anyone know if the Steam version of AP gets authenticated differently then other versions? Because Im am willing to pay an extra $2 just to get the f@#$ing thing running. EDIT: $2 and 11gb later I can tell you in fact, that it does work and is completely painless. Wow, I remember getting it for $5 from direct drive a month ago and went through about 3 hours of trial and error/google searching to try to authenticate the damn thing. Anyway, just download and hit play, yayyyy, I now get to play it!.
  16. General Video Game Deals Thread

If you have any luck and it was simple, let me know, I'd love to give it a try.
  17. General Video Game Deals Thread

Yeah I bought it for $5 last steam sale, couldn't get it working at all, there were so many work arounds to get it to authenticate because I guess the sega code server is done, nothing worked. So just word of warning to anyone, maybe the steam version is better.
  18. Jupiter's Folly

Damn, I was trying to figure out that too early, why some mines mine faster. It's all coming together!
  19. Jupiter's Folly

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh.... you can only put mines near the little blue mineral things. I was trying to figure out why I could put them on some nodes and not others. Wished the art were more like crystals then dots.
  20. XCOM returns

Well it finally happened... I'm old and small companies are still catoring to my depressing little nitch fantasies in a tiny corner booth at expos. http://www.shacknews.com/article/70278/syndicate-inspired-cartel-announced-by-paradox Next on my wishlist, a real diablo sequel (I am in no way dismissing diablo 3, I just want the dark version one day)
  21. Driver: San Francisco

How are the barks toblix? Thats what has put me off from picking it up, in the one video mentioned above it seemed unplayable with all the repetitive one liners while driving.
  22. Minecraft

I finally found a villiage in my 2 minutes between crashes gameplay. *that* was scary... why the fuck is there a town in the middle of a desert and no one here? It's creepy as hell... then night came and I had to stay inside one of these haunted death traps.
  23. Jupiter's Folly

F@#$ing bugs. Im just waiting desperately for a cyber/black guard card. I don't really know how to play the game, but I know once I get one of those, these bugs are gonna pay.
  24. Going to have to give this a second try with people, because it was pretty novel for the first twn minutes, but seems REALLLY repetitive on my own. Clubbing zombies is fun, but not over and over with no real highs or lows so far.
  25. Deus Ex 3

In my experience a lot of things get outsourced, not just assets(like character, weapons, boxes, etc..) but level designs/art, multiplayer modes, mini games, etc... Since this guy is local, I have a feeling it was more of a friend connection; like he knew the exec producer or something and they threw him a bone. For something like this I doubt they saved any money on it, because contractors are freaking expensive.
