Personally hate live action trailers, but all of the Halo ones I've seen have been great. I did dig the Fable 2 one as well, it reminded me of old Nintendo commercials The ODST one especially sold me as well as it, I don't think the games particularly pull off the fascist military theme as well as that trailer did.(Not like that's the point of Halo at all, but I from an outside standpoint such as mine, I always equate Halos roots in Starship Troopers the book for whatever wrong reasons I have)

As much as I love Diablo, I did always stop on Diablo 2 in the jungle. I've see the other parts of the game as I just watched my friends play, but by that point(and I think the thumbs commented it was the worst part of the game too) I just felt like I've done everything the game has to offer. Torchlight I played much, much, much less. I love those guys for what they have done and they created a really nice game with Torchlight, but the setting/art style just didn't capture me as much as Diablo did. A lot of how much I like a game depends on that; just my preference, I don't think Torchlight's setting/style was bad, just too goofy for what I'd want out of that kind of game.

So with Fumble you can play this online, Gwar? because I'd be up for trying it. There are so many interesting card/board games now that I never get to play because my friends think they are too cool for that stuff. Any chance I can get to try these things, I'd love to. Plus, I've heard good things about blood bowl in the past.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Ws6AAhTw7RA The best thing about this is the nonchalantness and side of the "crowd" looking at this thing, where as I'd be losing my mind watching this thing, this seems to not attract anyone, which makes me wonder what else is going on around it that is more amazing.
-
And this big dude who talks about stuff when he picks up ammo and then hides behind concrete blocks too? That doesn't sound like Gears 1. These threads are making me want to try the second one. I didn't think Gears 1 was bad when I played it (at release) it just didn't stick with me and felt really dumb from a narrative point of view, even with the odd interesting thing going on. But the second one is $14 now so I may as well give it a shot, though it means turning on the xbox...

It's called ambition. I am a huge fan of Fable 1 and 2, the series itself felt like a giant iterative game design experiment... which made me happy. There were a lot of differences between the first two, both having it's own positive and negatives, but three breaks off the series in a very specific way. The focus of what the game is about changes, they used the framework of two(obviously) and built a different game in to, it wasn't about heroes, archetypes, or quests.... which is really the core of what Fable was about. A sequel that abandons the core mechanics and values of it's franchise is just bizarre and a clearly crapped out money grab. I'd love to get into and really layout well written post on how crappy Fable 3 is;I was about to a few months ago while playing it, but I've come to the conclusion that it's such a fluff game I won't even waste time doing that. It's crap, its crap for very specific reasons, go play the first two, they are wonderful. Fable is the type of game I'd like to make one day, its sad to see them do so well with the franchise and just shit out spinoffs and crappy sequels because I figured by the time Fable 5 came out it'd be pretty damn perfect.

I hate to be this person, I love Double Fine to death, but $14 seems a bit steep doesn't? I understand they need to make a buck off the port, but I'm coming at this from a "what does $14-$20 get me on Steam" and it can get me a lot... so I dunno about that price point.

Or does he mean dynamically generated content as in "Hey, I'm going to go over there, wow look at this tree, oh shit, bandits! Die bandits die!"
-
Started. and..... I have the best starting spot ever. ahahha... awww. luckily its f'ing big.
-
agreed, Im just hoping this news meant they figured out where to spend their time... side content.
-
And what about the other content? because that's usually whats better than any of the campaign stuff in Elder Scrolls. I never finished oblivion because it bored me to tears to do that actual campaign. As long as I can wander around and do some things for a while, I'm a happy camper.

Is there a start button? edit: yes there is, never knew that! It's been a week, anyone else want to fill in for the 2 that didn't join? http://np.ironhelmet.com/detail?game=29687293secret password: gungagulunga (I'll look for a start button and hit it at the end of the day if it exists)
-
Poked the people who I thought haven't joined, if I poked you and you have, sorry about that. Also Chris Remo was a named used in the TT rules session; wasn't? I can't remember.
-
Ha, I know EXACTLY what your talking about, it's that's the farthest I have ever gotten in Demon Souls because I'm a wuss that wants a less repetitive game after I die a gazillion times.

Yeah breaking bad was pretty cool. It's not really the same as it started, but the character arch is pretty damn awesome. That would have been a good way to end it, but I could see one more season to wrap everything up with Walt. I really have to start comparing the series to The Shield, there was a lot of similarities in the first season, but now I just compare it because of the really interesting character arch both series are going through .I thought The Shield ended just pitch perfectly for the character, so I'm looking forward to something possibly similar for Breaking Bad. Neat stuff though, I'd felt notes of Michael Mann in that finale, which is interesting to see.

nope you were on the list.

http://np.ironhelmet.com/detail?game=29687293 secret password: gungagulunga Let's do this!

Yeah, the last quick game we had was snoozesville. I didn't like the speed. I'm up for a SLOW game(pay ever 48 hours) or mid is fine. I'm think of going for a gigantic map though... What say you guys?
-
I recall reading some things about it.
-
Gotcha, that's a tough decision then

I'm not going to dispute brkls like over one thing or another; but I think comparing The Wire and Breaking Bad isn't really...apt? They're both good, but for very different reasons, I think. Breaking Bad is more of a mash up of Sopranos and The Shield; while great(though I think it's story is being stretched a bit thin lately and can probably start wrapping up) it's just really different from the allegorical social statements that The Wire offered.

1. Epiclairs 2. Wubbles 3.Me 4.tabacco 5.Speedy Desiato 6.Ens 7.toblix 8.Vector9 9.Wurtsi 10.brkl EDIT: I think it goes to 12? That's a pretty good list... lets say we begin Friday? just a good day to start and maybe a person or two will join by then, who knows. I like these types of games to give me something to think about for 5 minutes a day, though Neptune can, sometimes, be more involving.
-
That is my feeling towards every MMO I've ever played since maybe before I knew what a grind was.
-
hehehe, brkl, that mission always stands out in my memory, mostly because it was an awesome crowd, awesome setting, but I hated trying to complete it. To be fair though, the player could collide with the NPCs but the NPCS would walk right through each other, which is hard to spot in that video but was pretty noticeable when playing. That said, its 2011 and aren't there drivers on pcs to have dedicate gpu time for all that crap? Probably have to wait for the next run of consoles before developers start using that stuff, even if there is a PC release of it.
-
But to be fair, it's pretty cool tech. As an environment artist I get really excited over stuff like this then saddened they decided not to license it. On the plus side, mod tools, so I'll probably pick it up just for that, but on the other hand if I was going to make anything real, I'd do it in Unreal because its free and used by everyone.
