  1. 180 days for a tower defense game seems pretty reasonable, the augmented reality thing, whatever/however that is would be the part that seems weird. Unless I have no idea what a tower defense game is these days... the last one I played was pixeljunks.
  2. Planetary Annihilation

We could start a kickstarter that will fund a project to infiltrate their offices and replace the orchestrated version just before it ships OR just pay off their audio engineer to do it. Also, after those TA examples, I am no longer on board with the orchestra.
  3. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

I'll buy it whenever a new Zelda or Mario comes out and hopefully a price drop at that point. But $350 for a console more or less on par to what I have with a small library doesn't interest me in the least. Also, I'm really surprised at the milage they are getting out of that "New Super Mario bros." game. I thought from an aesthetic stand point it was garbage and the gameplay was b.s compared to most previous Mario games, especially the side scrolling heritage it tries to invoke. *** I think the hardware specs are really odd. It's essentially them playing catchup for the core gamer segment at the end of the generation life cycle. As a developer this is what was needed a year or two ago, but now? It's really pointless and games will be equally divided within a year or two.
  4. Old Amiga Kickstarter: Wings

... I now really want to see a 16bit adventure game of the television show Wings, is that wrong? Also, where the hell is Lowl on that cover?
  5. Just started listening to it and you guys are out right saying "Daisy" rather than "Day Z"... right? Also, the whole player dynamic sounds like what early Ultima Online had, it really made an interesting game.
  6. Moon

On Sept. 12, 1962, President John F. Kennedy announced that the United States would land men on the moon. http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/videogallery/index.html?media_id=151776051
  7. Mark of the Ninja

Sweet, I'll check it out when that happens!
  8. Steam Greenlight

I thought towns looked pretty cool and looks like a pretty original concept, so I'd like to check it out. As for Gnomoria, sure it looks cool and yes a graphical version of DF is interesting, but I am way to bothered at the blatant cloning of Dwarf Fortress to support them in anyway. They'll probably end up making a lot of money and did none of the heavy lifting the DF guys have done over the years, and while that's pretty common thing that happens, especially in games, it just makes me sad.
  9. Planetary Annihilation

Halo music is alright and seems pretty suited to the tone. I'm not sure if I'd go with full orchestra, but if the gameplay is as snappy as the previs video, I can see it working.
  10. Mark of the Ninja

Agreed, smell; teh feature lists reads like every other stealth game and I don't find the art or subject all the cool... but I guess it must handle amazingly well to make people go ape over it. I don't follow this stuff, but will this potentially be on the ps3? I really dont like hooking up my xbox anymore.
  11. The threat of Big Dog

Cheetah robot isn't impressive when it's suspended by a giant pole and some wires; I'll get worried when that thing can run around on it's own. Softbot is neat, I want to make a mock youtube video by shaking around a ziplock and filling it with coke through a tube, because that's essentially what I just saw, hehehe.
  12. Molyneux et Molydeux

I imagine it'll be like that realization scene in Fight Club, because they are clearly the same person with schizophrenia
  13. L.A. Noire

In case anyone missed these: http://www.shacknews.com/screenshots.x?gallery=13854&game_id=5335&id=149109#img149109 I'm a bit excited and dissapointed at the same time. All this hype and we get a low resy console version of Mafia 2; was kind of hoping for something a little more "styled". On the other hand, I love that era and if they can pull off a noire game that isn't Gta 1956 I'll play it willingly.
  14. Team Fortress 2 Co-op! Mann vs. Machine

Which is O.K, but as it stands right now, that isn't what it is. Right now Mann Up mode is "Do you want to play this game right now or do you want to watch a the UI for an hour?" unless I am completely misunderstanding the setup for this game, in which case, I'd say their UI or information could be a little more streamlined to help me get into a free game right now.
  15. Planetary Annihilation

Well that looks pretty cool and those guys come off as pretty pro with their pitch, so I'm in.
  16. Team Fortress 2 Co-op! Mann vs. Machine

I'm super sad about the queue and that I can't just start up a match and play with a couple people or by myself for training. I just want to goof around, but I guess that's not really the system MVM is built on. edit: Also, I can't just buy a ticket with through the steam store? I need to buy at least $5 of itchy and scratchy money? I know this is how games work, but for some reason I hold Valve above this stuff, I guess not. Anyway, not to be that guy on the internet, looks like I can hand out some free tickets to friends. edit2: I can't read, a ticket is good for one game? holy crap, good on you valve, but I'm a cheap bastard so I'm out after this $5 is consumed. I get that content isn't free and that's super cool, but free mode, at least right now, seems to be unplayable without waiting 30 min, I'd rather give them $25-$40 for this "expansion" to play whenever and however long I want than do $1 a ride... that stuff, even if it's cheaper in the end, turns me away.
  17. Team Fortress 2 Co-op! Mann vs. Machine

Does anyone know if it's out yet or where some news updates are coming from? Was hoping to play a bit at work before I left.
  18. Tearaway

Hope it comes to PSN... though I guess the mechanics are tailored to tapping the vita.
  19. Half-Life 3

Not going to change your mind, but I like the HL games for the art and atmosphere. I get enough enjoyment simply walking through the environments to justify saying the game is incredible. And they aren't that technically impressive at this point, yet the atmosphere still holds up.
  20. Routine

Holy Crap. I have no idea what this is, but god damn space. Also, their little company bumper is pretty awesome too; so weird too, because I was just watching a lot of old 70s corporate videos and imagined a game company using that style for it's bumper. Kind of gives me the same vibe Fade to Black did back in the day, only more space less scifi.
  21. Team Fortress 2 Co-op! Mann vs. Machine

Oh man, before the comics and the narrative, I really wanted a focused co-op experience of just that, like a 4 man team going through an adventure.
  22. Remember Me

Might be okay, I like it, but seems a bit bland.... I guess after that Watch Dogs it's a bit hard to top with something similar. Also, I don't have much faith in Capcom games, but thats just me. Also, if it's current gen, it looks really good. If it's next gen, meh, the characters are pretty stiff... the automated suitcase was priceless though.
  23. Half-Life 3

I needed a good laugh this morning. Thanks!
  24. Idle Hooves: CLOP

What's the deal with the aggression here, Thunderpeel? Of course I've played it and it's god damn hard, but this is the internet, people do some pretty ridiculous things on it so it leads me to wonder if someone master it. That's my only point, don't have to be a knob about it.
